Oh yum! Do you actually eat the shells? If so, does the double frying make the digestible?

Yes you can eat them, they are crunchy, delicious and digestible. - YOLO

    Hi yes,
There is also a healthy reason to eating prawns in their shells.
When I was in Shanghai, I was told that the shell is extremely good for the digestive system.
So the small pieces of the shell, kind of delicately ‘scrapes’ the walls of the digestive system as it passes through.

Another question, Could you cook the prawns without the shalls❓

iirc you can, just skip 1st deep fry stage & go straight to 2nd stir fry stage.

I have never seen it spelled buluchan. That would translate to Chan's pubes. It's spelled belachan.

Could you use tamarind paste instead?

    • @SchoolofWok
      @SchoolofWok  Рік тому

That's what he uses on this recipe. You could also use tamarind concentrate if you don't have paste. - YOLO

    Can I ask a simple request?……
We love to cook your fantastic recipes for our loving partners and families.
Not Billy no mates! (Meal for one).
So to this end, can your recipes initially be for two people??
This would be greatly appreciated I’m sure.
    Cheers 👍

Almost all of our recipes are ideal for two - pair something like this with rice and you've got a substantial meal! - Chris

Do people actually eat the shells? didnt know that was possible

    • @MedCodingGoddess

It's possible, it's just an acquired taste/texture. There's a restaurant near me that has this yummy pepper shrimp where they double fry in the shell also. It takes forever to try and peel them because the shell sticks to the meat. Don't eat the tail, it's just a handle for getting the shrimp to your mouth.
