This was a great review. I enjoyed what seemed to be one of the most honest and critical reviews from Sootch I've seen in a while. He wasn't dumping on the gun, because it didnt deserve that, but pointing out aspects of the gun that simply can't compare to a 2011 that costs literally two thousand more dollars. This seems like an excellent handgun for the current market and I hope it sells well.
This gun ain't going any lower than 800 bucks. There's a thing called demand. Demand from the 'budget' crowd will keep supply low (hard to find in stock) which will keep price up. If you think you're buying this for anything below 800, you're sadly mistaken.

I've rolled a few of my own from %80 RIA frames, and the cerakote didn't effect how smooth the slide operates in those. I doubt the cerakote is the problem, unless Girsan/EAA are using 'Cerakote' from Wish.
So, I bought one. Picked it up for $807 plus taxes and shipping. It's my 5th 2011 style gun. Have about 6-7 hundred rounds thru it. Can't say it'll ever be my favorite. The trigger totally sucks, the worst of all my 1911/2011 guns. I think the grip is overly aggressive. It's gritty in operation. The spent cases are flying all over the place, even back into your face at times. Took off my optic, and am going to modify it for a Holosun K series. It does run reliably and it's okay accuracy.

I’ll hold my breath on this gun, especially with a 7lb trigger (should be in the 3-5lb range for 1911/2011-style pistol) and Girsan has a so-so track record with its 1911s. I never trust reviews when the manufacturer/importer provides a gun to the reviewer as it is to their benefit to hand-pick a good example, which may or may not represent the majority of examples of that given product.
