I had an issue with a Girsan Hi Power clone and sent it back to EAA. It came back in 2 weeks with a note saying what was wrong and what they fixed. Has so far ran perfectly.
What’s wrong With Your Gun
@@josebarajas619 the extractor was messed up, bent I think, and the front sight fell out before 50rds. It would have FTE or FTF almost every other round.
Hey buddy did you find any conceal carry holsters for it? I can’t find any. I purchased mine the is morning. Looking everywhere no luck
@@pipefitterwithguns8688 It's just a range gun for me. I CC a S&W Shield Plus. Sorry bub. I would look into if it fits most Hi Power holsters since it's a clone.
@@pipefitterwithguns8688 BHSpringsolutions here on UA-cam is the best channel you can watch regarding Girsan and any other Hi Power clone.
I think this review is the one ive been waiting for the most all year
That’s ridiculous there’s no way I’m gonna buy a 2011 at 7 pound trigger. What’s wrong with these people that’s one of the things about a 2011 or 1911 is a good triggers and they seem to be putting his triggers out that are crappy well thanks for the review. I love the fact that you do the trigger on your reviews that’s why I watch them because triggers are very important to me.
I always wait for your videos before I look into purchasing a new firearm. Thank you for presenting a thorough review. You can't imagine how much you've helped a lot of people. God bless you Sir.
This was a great review. I enjoyed what seemed to be one of the most honest and critical reviews from Sootch I've seen in a while. He wasn't dumping on the gun, because it didnt deserve that, but pointing out aspects of the gun that simply can't compare to a 2011 that costs literally two thousand more dollars. This seems like an excellent handgun for the current market and I hope it sells well.
I think I know what my first 2011 will be now. 👍🏾
Would love to see you review this model in one of the larger calibers too. 😮
I’m excited to see how much these drop below MSRP after they’re on the market for a while.
I'm seeing them for $860 without the red dot.
This gun ain't going any lower than 800 bucks. There's a thing called demand. Demand from the 'budget' crowd will keep supply low (hard to find in stock) which will keep price up. If you think you're buying this for anything below 800, you're sadly mistaken.
@POPJack1717 naw they will be found for under 800. I can almost guarantee it. You just have to know where to look. I bet I will be able to find one for 650-700 easily in a few months.
You aren't finding these under 800 bucks like I said because of this thing called demand. Freaking 6 shot Rock Island AL9.0s are 739(used to a 450 gun) and they are cheap revolvers. You aren't going to find a double stack 2011 for under 800 bucks. Period, not happening. And that's a fact. You can't even find a rock island double stack 1911 anymore and those been out for years. And when you do, they're always 800+.
@@POPJack1717 I disagree. You obviously just don't know where to look. These will be found for under 800 easily. It's actually quite funny you mentioned RIA cause I got my RIA tac ultra for 625 about 2 months ago.
Super smart using the industry “standard” magazine.
I was able to find 2 offers on gun broker, that's it. One had the configuration you showed in this video and the price was 899$.
Will be interesting to see if EAA is able to provide more stock for the Christmas business.
It reminds me to the Tisas PX9 gen 3. I own that gun and I love it, very accurate and great trigger .
Where did you find it for $899 I’ll buy it right now
@@joepadilla6297 read my comment.. it's in there.
man this is one hell of a gun if its as good as I think it is
It probably is, Like pretty much the only Problem Girsans had was brittle internals (Broken Hammers and stuff like that) but for the Price you get a decent Pistol
@@pharaongaming8617And soft slides, frames, barrels, eat themselves for lunch. They should be sold with peanut butter as they come with a lot of Jam!
@@michaell397good one boss pb and j
I'm sure you can work the trigger and get it down to 4 lbs.. like most other 1911's
Disappointed the trigger is 7 pounds. That seems heavy for a 1911 / 2011. Other than that looks pretty cool. HAs a lot of features for the money for sure.
I'm ready for S&W to drop a 2011! They've been on fire lately and I know it has to be coming soon.
😂 why? There's enough 1600-2500 dollar options..
@@SLOCLMBR because I love Smith & Wesson.
Still Waiting on that 327 Fed Mag Review! Your the Best Sootch!
It seems everybody has forgotten the Para Ordnance double-stack 1911 when talking about "2011". It was available in the 90's until Remington bought them. These existed long before the current crop but yeah the new kids have rails and slide cuts.
Definitely glad you mentioned the competing options. Kimber recently released a DS 1911 that seems decent as well for a decent price.
Kimber released compact version KDS9C. It is interesting. Good option for people interested for expensive Combat Wilson EDC X9 4. Kimber is way cheaper. But it is not really competition for optics ready 2011 style gun for under 1000$.
A great review Don you always do a great job I respect your opinion you are the bomb diggity!!!! Living vicariously through you brotha
Thanks Terry! I appreciate it Brother
Thanks for the thorough review, as always. Sounds like a good option to break into the 2011 platform.
Thanks for stopping by Paul!
Trigger pull seems kind of heavy.....don't you think?
I might pick one up, nothing an EGW ignition kit, new trigger and a little tuning can't fix. Great addition to my Staccato and Prodigies.
You sound like a tool.
I already bought the mc35 9mm now you're showing me the witness I'm going to buy that in the 10 mm but I would like to see is you do a review on that wrist ⌚ you're wearing. Always an excellent and honest review.
So, I bought one. Picked it up for $807 plus taxes and shipping.
It's my 5th 2011 style gun. Have about 6-7 hundred rounds thru it. Can't say it'll ever be my favorite. The trigger totally sucks, the worst of all my 1911/2011 guns. I think the grip is overly aggressive. It's gritty in operation. The spent cases are flying all over the place, even back into your face at times. Took off my optic, and am going to modify it for a Holosun K series.
It does run reliably and it's okay accuracy.
Trigger is easily fixed.
What do you consider okay accuracy? Just curious.
Been waiting for a budget 2011. This looks good. Interested to see a few more tests. Might be a pickup. Girsan does good stuff.
Finally this is a 2011 priced as it is that I was waiting for Armscor/Rock Island to put out but they never did.
Dammit....now I gotta redo my Christmas list.
Lol
Just add to it 😅
Girsan makes solid guns no doubt.
Thanks again for another great review. Steve - Canada.
FINALLY! A 10MM 2011!
The rock island armory made one a long time ago
@@reekz8089 I should have said a "decent" one.
@@pogeegitzRock Island made one a long time ago.
You could get a few variants of the Rock island for less than 600 for awhile there.. (couple years back).. Not sure of the current price.
@@calholliThis has a much better finish than Rock Island, and more than a POUND lighter in 10mm. I'd gladly take a Prodigy in 10mm over this, but I don't see that happening.
So glad you got a different pull weight gauge. Now it matches up better with mine.
An excellent review, as usual, Sooch00.
Thought my finger was gonna break when I saw this notification pop up😂
😂❤😂😂😂
Will these ever actually be available? I ask because they were supposed to hit the streets in April 2023. It is now October 2023 (6 months later) and they are not yet in the wild. Dealers have had them listed on their sites, but they have not had any stock, which suggests that they have been just waiting for their stock.
I’ll hold my breath on this gun, especially with a 7lb trigger (should be in the 3-5lb range for 1911/2011-style pistol) and Girsan has a so-so track record with its 1911s.
I never trust reviews when the manufacturer/importer provides a gun to the reviewer as it is to their benefit to hand-pick a good example, which may or may not represent the majority of examples of that given product.
They're out. Check your stores and GB.
7lb trigger is ridiculous, I would have to replace that fire control group before I even shot it. That's twice as heavy as most 1911/2011 pull weight.
Loved the review. I think that the Cerakote finish is why the slide is not as smooth as it could be. Can you do a review on the RIA TAC ULTRA FS HC 9MM 17RD?
Thanks Richard, I agree. The Cerakote does add a little bit of material to the surface.
I've rolled a few of my own from %80 RIA frames, and the cerakote didn't effect how smooth the slide operates in those. I doubt the cerakote is the problem, unless Girsan/EAA are using 'Cerakote' from Wish.
Another good review .thanks!!! The fit and finish on that gun looks absolutely perfect. She's a beaut!!!!
Oh and someday soon I hope to own the negotiator in 10mm.Check that one out!!!
Ill stay with the prodigy, yes cost more but is all around top notch for price point
7 LBS trigger, that absolutely sucks for a 2011 trigger. I’d pick a Canik over that for a few hundred less. I know about trigger jobs but I’ll bet you’ll sacrifice durability if you grind on the existing trigger, so a new trigger system would be necessary if you’re planning to compete with this. $250 more. Now you’re at CZ Shadow 2 price range. It’s a fail in my humble opinion. Good pistol maybe for LE duty?
7 pounds for a single action trigger is criminal..
True. But you can get one in 10 mm + trigger job. So that is 1300$ for 2011 in 10mm auto optics ready with good trigger. Not bad.
@@aljosaskrabelj8412 1300 dollar pistols shouldn't need trigger jobs new
@@SLOCLMBR it is 1000 dollar gun. I was adding 300 for trigger job.
@@aljosaskrabelj8412 gotcha, I'd be really careful who touches it for 300 bucks.. Lotta wannabe gunsmiths around
Good Saturday morning SOOTCH.
Good Morning Brother!
7 lb trigger??? I don’t own one yet, but isn’t the appeal of a 1911/2011 a lighter, better trigger? Not sure how much it would cost to upgrade it (if possible), but it closes the gap in price with the Prodigy.
If it uses the typical trigger spring you can bend the leaf spring to adjust the pull tension.
I have a girsan with the derry optic. It needs a better option.but a great gun I have mc28 sa T 17+1 but yes only one mag
I like it a lot, nice review thanks and take care.
Looks like a nice pistol 👍
Thanks Brother!
Impressive base gun. I wish there was a bull barrel option though. I get the pro/cons but I'd still opt up to the prodigy price for the longer dust cover and the bull barrel.
Throw an EPS carry on this thing and it's actually a sick setup.
Wish there were more .45ACP 2011 style guns. Also higher capacity options, too, since there are higher capacity .45 options for the Para Ordnance frame, so I had a custom gun built off that.
Might as well just get a 10mm. Hits harder but you get more capacity wise than 45
@@TurboK24z Ironically, according to modern ballistic experts, energy doesn’t actually make a significant difference on wounding capability. The temporary stretch cavity won’t actually incapacitate anyone unless the cartridge is moving over 2200 FPS, which even hot loaded 10mm doesn’t. At that point, the only damage a pistol bullet does is the permanent crush cavity, and that is primarily determined by bullet size (including expansion for hollow points). So at least with my understanding of ballistics, .45ACP is actually better for human threats.
10mm does have merit for predator defense, but that’s mainly because the extra energy gives you a lot more penetration. 18” of ballistic gel is the max you need for humans, but you need a lot more for bear.
If they work well and if they can keep them on the shelves, I expect they will sell a bunch of 'em.
Put the thumb safety up so it locks the slide in place when putting your bushing back in so the slide won’t move on you
girsan have made all their clones in a super high quality way they are a precision machine shop with todays technology especially in other countries like turkey etc we should be getting great guns for great prices i cant wait.
7 lbs? Man that's heavy for a modern hammer fired gun.
Great review. LOVE that someone really did a nice closeup of the trigger pull. In this example, a 7lb trigger defeats the entire purpose though. But maybe you pay for ta gunsmith to do trigger improvements, and the end cost becomes a decent value?
I totally didn't know they made this in the 10 mm and 45, thats awesome
The slide is Made in Turkey, but the frame is Made in the USA. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the frames are Made in the US.
The absolute BS of gun snobs is ridiculous. I CAN'T STAND GUN SNOBS. Not the host but all the stupid comments is ridiculous.
I love when he brings out new videos, he saves me lots of time and money. Thank you.
Awesome review! Finally a 2011 I may actually get into.
Not sure if you were still responding on this one but how did you actually buy it? I can’t find them in stock anywhere and I seem to keep seeing sites that have a catalog and you have the store order it
IT SURE LOOKS AWESOME , GIRSAN MAKES NICE EQUIPMENT. It comes with the optic ?
Probably so, looks like an awesome $40 optic😂
Girsan kinda reminds me of those Pagani watches. Shameless ripoffs of existing designs, but very well built and very affordable.
The 10mm version would be interesting
It would be nice if they finally released it to the public
I’m sold.
that looks solid
I'm getting one ASAP!
This will be interesting to see where it goes because 4:36 oracle arms came out with the 2311 but it’s a 2011 design using sig p320 mags. I thought this was a knock off of that but it just seems to be a knock off 2011 with a confusing name
It’s a heavy trigger cause they made it a defense pistol the trigger also gets lighter and probably around 5 1/2 pounds when it’s broke in
I want one of these, i picked up the apollo 11 and i love it
Nice girsan 2011 gun thanks for sharing sootch00
Well Sootch, being your biggest fan from Brazil, you always impress me, you are right about one thing, we are seeing a golden age of gun industry, but as i can see there is a government war against your 2nd Amendment right, it's time for a 2nd Revolution, because i don't believe in elections anymore.
Thanks Joao! I appreciate the kinds words and you're right about the 2A. It's a fight bigger than ever.
7 LBS TRIGGER ON 2011. Big Pass!
Will one 2011 maker make the trigger guard bigger on these things? That is my only complaint with 2011s
ATI is garbage but is literally the only company that I've seen that has a double stack, 14rd, .45 1911 that has a custom-larger finger guard.
Excellent review, would love to see this compared to the Apollo 11
Ohhh yeah this is a scoop forshor
I just picked up mine yesterday. The safety is really stiff and the trigger is heavy for a 2011. Hopefully it will loosen up after the break in period.
Watched this first on Patreon.❤
You're the best!
Greatness
Between Tisas and girson I prefer Tisas...now I hope Tisas gets with the 2011.
I need one of these in a hard chrome finish with a bull barrel
Nice
Everyone sending their guns to Sootch now for the positive review kickbacks! Talk about a feedback loop, lol. Thanks EAA! 😅
Tanks very nice ds. My new favorite
Wish it still had a rear sight while having a red dot installed
EAA should not have used "WITNESS" when the original is a CZ clone and has been forever, now a 1911 body ?
Yeah.. the name is a fail.. but oh well. Just call it the 2311 (which is their name also)
Maybe the trigger group needs polishing.
Be interesting to know what the hammer spring weight is.
Please make a comparison video between this and bul armory sas ii tac
That would make a great comparison. Thanks~
I usually Love Israeli stuff. Not a fan of Turkey either but personally I think this looks better than Bul Armory, probably worse quality but still
Overall tho I don't really like 2011s itself, STI Edge looked Kinda Cool tho
7 lbs trigger is unacceptable for 1911/2011 platform.
Yeah.. I'm sure it can be worked though.. Little sanding and maybe stretch the spring a bit. 1911's are known for their triggers. I'm sure it can be dialed in just the same.
I expected at least in the 5lb range. These bargains are not really bargains if you are going to start spending more to fix the shortcomings. And I don't like the idea of not having a rear sight on the pistol.
@@jefferytillis8309 Just get a dot that has a built in sight. Just like the one he has on it. Also, if you can't work your own trigger and would have to pay for it--- then I agree: you probably shouldn't buy it. These types of deals are more for the self sufficient guys who can fix the shortcomings ourselves.. Just watch some videos-- someone will show you how to do it.
Seems like it recoil more stoutly than some others.
Tisas DS is way better than the 2311 Witness by a mile. The EAA Girsan Mpc35 OPS in full and PI/ PI LW models are Awesome, made me expect a lot more with the Witness 2311, but no way would I buy one after the Tisas DS came out.
Sweet, pistol for the price
That is the pistol for me!
I really like ds 1911s but after the Springfield I am a skeptic now. I hope this one works
That's a dumb reason... Staccato when they were STI sold poor malfunctioning 2011s for years, before they figured it out. Far worse than the Prodigy issues
how are people getting these!!? i waited an entire summer and now nearly an entire fall season.
It’s Sootch!
Trigger job for a 1911 is easier than changing your oil, i just dropped in a sear spring from wilson combat, trigger is now 3 lb 9 oz and im telling you this witness has the shortest reset there is.
Take it apart and polish up the trigger components and it'll probably get under 7lbs. 7 lbs is insanely heavy on a 1911/2011/2311 platform gun
Could you get a 10mm version, and do an extended review? 500 rounds or so, maybe?
A 7 pound trigger is a joke.
I bought this one after seeing this and other reviews. No mention of the fact that some ship with no mags. I had to buy so EAA’s parts store at $50.00 a pop 😮. I don’t have to tell you how upset I was, bummer.
I’ve got a Girsan it came with one mag that’s their thing
what is this new ban on export guns and ammo? can someone tell me what this means?
I would have like it to come with a threaded barrel & decocker
You rocking an Invicta?
Thanks to Nutnfancy. He got my started on the Invictas : )
Like 10 years ago I bought an ultra cheapo "steam punk" looking mechanical watch with all the gears showing front and back for only 7 dollars on scamazon.. and it still works today. lol. somehow. I'm amazed by it
Please compare this with apollo 2011
That's a good looking gun.. I'd want it on looks alone.. Lol.
Am I reading the trigger pull gauge right? It appears to be around 5 1/2 - 5 3/4 pounds, not "just under 7"
