People take notes this is how you make a UA-cam video. Excellent work. Thank you
A very good video and very informative about what is difficult and how to get thru the difficulties of the job.
Thank you guys, I followed along and got the job done.
Great video. Made it look easy. I just ordered mine. And my fan clutch is bad, so thank god I'll have a little more room. Keep up the good work on those old beasts.
How did u now ur fan cluch was bad wat symptoms
Great video thx. The people on here complaining shouldn’t even be messing with a job like this if you can’t fill in the gaps, this helped me a lot.
thanks for the video helped me plenty for my 93 Chevy Silverado
man no body shows where the second nut is in back,,,i don't get it ,,that is one i am looking for
Use a crow foot wrench for the high pressure line when the pump is bolted in. Makes life easier.
U make it look easy lol. I broke the pulley tool.i need to do this and my gear box. Thinking i may just have my mechanic do it just bc of the pulley situation
Great video very informative on the proccess of removing an replacing
Thanks for watching and commenting Mitchell I appreciate you
One crucial step you missed while replacing your power steering pump with a new or remanufactured one.
ALWAYS flush your lines before even putting the new pump in.
Don’t wonder if your NEW pump will start whining again soon. Also, always use a full synthetic fluid on this Chevy.
Why? I threw mine on. Turned it lock to lock with cap off. Put cap on and drove it. Super smooth… only thing I’ve ever bled is cooling and brakes.
Very good information I really appreciate thank you
Thanks, you helped me out alot today!
No problem I'm really glad i could help
Thank you. Your video helps alot!
Great video helped me

You did it about the same way I had in mind by leaving the hose on the pump.
My fluid is brown and sometimes the steering gets stuck when it's cold and will only turn to the right, not the left until I slam it good and hard to break it loose. I'll be rebuilding both the pump and the steering gear box and flushing the lines to get the system clean. I have the radiator removed for repair and removed the lower fan shroud and fan so I have room to get inside to access the intake better to replace the intake gaskets. I'll be doing a cylinder leakage test while the intake is off. If I find a leaking valve or head bad gasket I'll pull the heads and get a fresh valve job done on them. If that happens I might as well drop the oil pan and replace the rod bearings, main bearings, rings, oil pump and timing set.
@@originaLkomatoast you got your work cut out for you lol. I pulled my engine and replaced everything but the bearings. Its a lot easier to pull it and put it on an engine stand if you have that option. Good luck brother and if i can help you in anyway just ask.
There's a rubber O ring that comes with the new pump, it goes on the high pressure line where it connects to the pump
Appreciate the video. Thanks! How did you (or did you?) flush out the lines? Unfortunately I just paid a bunch to have this done to my ‘95.
Thank you! Good video
That's wrong you have to put that Pulley bolt in the sleeve to pull the Pulley out
A++ Great fix.
Is there a pulley retaining bolt that holds the pulley on to the pump shaft after it's pressed into place?
Is it possible to drill a hole in the pulley to access the mounting bolts? If balancing is a issue drill another hole equally across from it
I had to remove mine just to tighten the line going to the gear box. I could get a wrench on the nut, just had no room to do anything.
Thank you sir
Thanks homie.
Why not just use a 5/8 Bolt (similar length) & Washer w/ a socket wide enough far as diameter to use as a puller?
There’s nothing to hold that socket to the pully, it pulls not pushes
5:50 you just skipped the hardest part! What happened?!
“We’ll get you a shot of that when we’re doing it” 😂
Hi my name is Fernando and I have a problem that I hope you can help me on. I stripped the bolt for a power steering pump pulley tool for a GMC. It's just like the one your using in this video. Can I buy another bolt or do I have to buy a whole new set ??
Thanks
Thanks! Would anti-seize be a good lube on the pulley shaft?
Thank you for posting this video...very helpful. What is the manufacturer and part number of the pulley puller kit you are using?
Not a problem I'm glad I could help I believe this was the kit I was using.

im doing this job today and I pulled the whole bracket out cauxse the pully wouldn't come off for the life of me
I realize this was 2 years ago. But i have a 97 k3500 and my fan is in the way, its on the opposite side of this one here is there any way to do it without taking the fan out?
I've done it before, but I did it when I was replacing my front clip so everything was out of the way.
It makes life easier taking it out 4 bolts keep belt on
Okayeee
Wish you wouldn’t of skip’d past the hardest part lol
The teacher never teaches everything they know
Nice but you forgot draining the fluid after pump replacement.
You drain the fluid before you put the new pump in and make sure that clean fluid comes out of your low pressure line. Only then, take the old pump off and replace with a new one. Also, I would always replace the high pressure line with a brand new one. But that’s just me.
get that fan out of the way... make your life a lot easier
Dont buy the junk. Buy square body pre 1987
Go b 😝
Lol just seen your comment love you!
You didn't even show how to take it off. Only after it's off. Thumbs down
Gaubuaaage
Here we go 😂😂
Gauubarge? More like gold... Obviously u sir are not mechanically inclined enough to understand. This was a very helpful video an i appreciate you posting it redemption Garage
You sir likely just take your one year old truck to the oil change place and give them what ever they ask
