This may be controversial to say as an equipment supplier, but yes, a well-made DIY Wood Rack can be both viable and safe. At Kabuki Strength we would rather see people lifting than not.
    -
Many folks as of late have been unable to access equipment or are on limited budgets, but that shouldn’t keep you from training. I grew up homeless and living in wilderness shacks (see last post), and I still found a way to train and get the work in. I love seeing the ingenuity of simply getting it done so you can train, and was inspired to see what I could put together for a small budget.
    -
As an engineer and equipment manufacturer, I want to take a stance and say that this is viable option, provide you some inspiration for ideas, and even some prints our design engineer put together for your DIY project. In all honesty, these are better alternatives than a cheap-o rack from Amazon or Walmart. This is also a great way to keep training while saving up for a better rack. I built this one for less than $75 and in under 1 hour!

Its a great idea. I used a wooden squat rack made of 2x4's for years. Cost about 25$ in materials and I was safely able to squat 400lbs. on it.

Very nice. I have been using a wooden bench with a rogue pad for years now and I still prefer it over any commercial gym bench

What more do you need? You can also paint it nicely.
Guys! Just don't mistake those horizontals for safety bars!

I like it, I'll opt for thicker wooden pieces though...just in case

Chris, please consider making a mobile rack that I could slide into my trucks receiver to be mobile. Only one other company makes this and it's always sold out and overpriced for what it is. I would gladly pay whatever you consider fare for you and ghost too collaborate on such a rack. Thanks for your time, I love my bar.

Chris, I wish you would consider making a rack that I could slide into my truck receiver to be mobile, please sir. There's only one company that makes such a product and it's always sold out(www.mobilefitnessequipment.com/products/hitchfit)- if you and ghost can partner on that I'd buy one immediately. Thanks for your time bro, love my bar.
