Whenever Thor's Hammer is in use, it automatically plays Galactic Empires anthem on the wide broadcast frequency so all the enemy ships know the shit is about to get real.
"Hey, what happened last time we tried to raid Iserlohn Fortress with a massive fleet?" "100% casualty rate, sir!" "Ok... but what if we use A BIGGER FLEET?!" "..." -Allied Admiralty at some point, probably
Every single time any fleet came within the firing arc of the Thor cannon, that should have been the obliteration of all of the military careers involved right up to the top. Getting huge numbers of ships blown away like that is nothing more than causing mass murder.
@@Chromeberd It's not profitable for politicians to lose either. The politicians that supported the failed FPA invasion of the Galactic Empire ended up having their popularity tanking and they resigned in disgrace or lost the election.
Lives are pawns in LOGH. Commanders will lose hundreds of ships like a jab in a boxing match. Even yang who hates unnecessary death is hard to it. It is a fucked up setting.
Any attack made by the Rebels would be a useless gesture, no matter what tactical data they've obtained. This station is now the ultimate power in the universe! I suggest we use it.

The Death Star could move, and destroy planets. But it didn't make any sense. Iserlohn Fortress however does make sense, and the gun at least looks like it's trying to be believable, even if it's outrageously overpowered LOL.
Starhunter Terra wtf are you talking??? both things are a FUCKING ARTIFICIAL PLANETS that fire lasers capable of causing great damage, and what you mean by being more credible in LoGH, I mean, after the civil war the galactic empire made an iserlohn that can moved at the speed of freaking light, which is less credible than the death star mate
ok about that, yes its an artificial fortress, but if you focused in the anime itself, the empire was researching how to move them, by getting greater mass moment, and you seem to also forget it was SURRENDERED back to the empire for a short time. And the new empire after the civil war and the new impirial linage preferred military might in tactics and technocrats, aka why it occurred in the first place. The misplacement of the aristocracy since later on in the imperial palace if you look at it later its much smaller in what is operational there in oden, it was just a transfer of values or in simple terms petty autocracy to technocratic autocracy.

I hope in these 11 years you actually learned, that Thor's Hammer is not stationary, but on floating platforms, that can be easily deployed in any part of the surface. That's why it's so terrifying - Iserlorhn, in comparison to Geiersburg, for example, DOES NOT have blind and/or weak spots.
it was a strategic weapon that held domination UNTIL the imperial occupation of Phessan since at that point it was rendered borderline useless, since the huge mass of the imperial fleet went the other passage, and the battle over it shown that since it was the host of a republic yes and its areas were defend able, but the imperial Fleet dominated the rest of the planets after the annexation of the puppet of the free planets alliance after the tiff there. OP yes but its only a weapon with a lazer that faces 1 way not both ways so without support in the back its supplies could be stopped and the missile ships could just stay out of its range rendering it unable to act
The ova Thor’s hammer is so unique. Someone tell me a WMD laser that uses Liquid Metal as its focal point. When the empire tried to take back the fortress and used depth charges to disable Thor I was fooled into believing it was disabled. Key word “fooled”. With quick calculation and precision detonations of their floating artillery they were able to make the Thor shoot from an angle it wasn’t supposed to. The author was a true genius. I wished he had made a sequel. Sadly it doesn’t appear to be possible. 😢😢😢
I love the Thor's Hammer in the new series, but the concept of having easily movable floating gun platforms for a WMD in the OVA is just really cool.
1:34 1:36 Plus it also has the ability to fire even on blind spot.
Those are floating turrets, floating on a liquid metal armor surface of the fortress. Those turrets can adjust their position easily.

Then it is an even fight!
I still have not seen a mega laser cannon as awesome as this one. This beats Gundam. xD
Gryps II and the titans disagrees
As much as I adore Gundam Zeta, Gryps II doesn't even come close. Iserlohn's Thor Hammer destroys ships by the thousands.
