New Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Gun Review

- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- The New Springfield Hellcat Pro is a 15 +1 Mag capacity and about the same size as a Glock 19, but this is thin like the micro compacts. Shoot like a fullsize gun but is narrow for better concealability.
We appreciate Springfield Armory for supplying the handgun. Big thanks to Fiocchi USA for Supplying our ammunition! #HellcatPro #SpringfieldHellcatPro #Hellcat

I pickup my Hellcat Pro on Sunday. Took it to the range. It fit and handle beautifully. I love it. An excellent ccw. I do not regret buying. A satisfy gun owner.
What holster do ypu conceal carry with?
I just bought a hellcat pro 2 months ago and I love it thank you
You guys never smile when shooting. I'd have the biggest smile shooting all the guns you guys shoot.
They have to look cool. Listen to the music! 😂😂😂
Watched many videos before purchasing my hellcat, but this review gave me assurance in my purchase. Great work!
First time buyer here, purchased this beauty today for 800 walk out. In total I got 5 mags, hellcat pro with optic, a bag to carry the weapon and some brushes to clean the weapon and the easy loader.
This is gonna be my first gun purchase thanks for your review its awesome
Bought the Hellcat Pro as my first handgun about 3 weeks back. I've only put about 400 rounds through it so far, but I already love it. I'm a big dude (6' 6" with pretty large hands) and this thing feels awesome in my hand. Getting my CPL next month, cannot wait to carry this baby everywhere I go.
I'm old school when it comes to my preferred pewpews (big bulky 1980s-90s semi-autos). But, the minute I picked up my 1st Hellcat Pro, I fell in love. Thin profile, felt great in my hand
I've been looking for a response from a "big guy" so thank you. 6' 4" with big hands myself. Avoided the normal Hellcat because it was too small. But very interested in the Pro.
I just upgraded my carry pistol to the pro..got 5 mags and a nice range bag for 549...wow..great deal. Nice weapon 👌
I missed out on that deal. Heard about it at academy after I got mine

Hey man I really appreciate your video. I learned more about the Hellcat Pro in your one video than I did watching 3-4 other ones. I’m going to be purchasing my first firearm and your video gave me that small push I needed to finally get it. I appreciate you, sir.
Best gun I ever had (I use to have CZ-75, G19c, G17, and tested the G43X before deciding to buy the the Hellcat Pro). Hellcat Pro is such a sweet handgun. It's very reliable, accurate, and very comfortable to hold.
Sootch never disappoints. In depth reviews are the best. Please watch his adds folks, his time is worth a few minutes. 👍👍
I agree on the content. I could do without the loud guitar riffs and watching closeups of people burning through ammo for 20% of the video, but the reviews are thorough and straightforward.

Just bought this Hellcat Pro, Thank you for the review. Very informative.
When Sootch says let’s check it out, he means it! Very informative videos.
Always good to see new Madein Criatia Products, because Croats do know to produce serious weapons but I must say ..if I go in this size,I choose XD Mod 2 4" barrel.
Simply the Best choice.
The grip, the weight, controlability with one hand shooting, loaded chamber indicator,beavertail...it has it all...

I like your reviews for the fact that you really give a lot of information on the features of the pistols, but I could never trust your reviews for a purchase decision or the shootability of a gun. You never seem to have any criticism or cons for a pistol. I almost bought the hellcat pro for my wife, but decided to shoot it first and the dam thing was so snappy my fingers hurt from gripping it so tight.
I'm content will my original hellcat the way it is, easy to carry, very accurate!

Wow that’s insanely thin compared to a Glock but you’re right imagine how much better the glocks would be thinned out ditching the two layer plastic and metal that makes it bulky or even how much better a s&w m&p9 would be thinned out
@Bill Jobes true but it really doesn’t have a thinner slide just a thinner grip but it is a great gun with the same aspect
Glock 43x/48 with a Shield Arms mag is the same.
@@Asidebar I meant the same size wise. It is obviously not the same gun.
@@Gieszkanne The Glocks are longer in grip length rhan the Hellcat Pro.
@@Sirgromulus No!
I just picked one up last night. I haven’t taken it to the range yet. But, this weekend I’m going to run it.
Thank you for the review. I have the Pro and love it. I have very small hands and the thinness of this gun fits perfectly.
I see this as a response to the Sig P365XL. That and the G43X and G48 with the Sheild mags in them.
yes that is what this is but everyone seems to bring up the g19. why because the Pro beats the 3 models you mentioned in features.
I love my shield mags for my G43X.
Thinness has never been an issue for me with concealed carry. It seems to me after every time they make a true micro gun they go right back to making the same gun a full size.
When I compare my Sig P365xl with the Holosun HS407K-X2 on top and TLR6 and a 15 round magazine, it's about the same size as my G26 Gen 4 with TLR6 and 15rd G19 magazine with X grip. But there is a significant weight difference between the two guns. And if I put the 12 round on my P365Xl it's even more confortable and even lighter. And yes the slightly thinner P365XL does feel more comfortable than my G26. That's what I like about it. Now for the gun on this video, I'm not sure. I already like what I have though 👍
@@joseCalderon1976 Yeah weight is a valid thing to put out there.
grip thickness is significant for me. I can conceal a G48 but cant really conceal a G19.
@@fr8cture It all depends on your style, body type, hand etc. I can conceal a G19 with a positive cant easily at the 3 o'clock position. But the weight on a gun like that gets a bit tiring after a few hours. But I'm only 5 ft 4 inches, but husky. Some big guy would probably be able to carry a G19 all day long and even bigger guns.
@@joseCalderon1976 hell of a difference for people who are thinner also women
I've been waiting to hear your thoughts on this. The time has finally arrived!
Nice review... Just got one, I bought an R7 Mako earlier, but the salesman was so good, I went back a month later and voila! Am waiting to get it to the range...
Thanks Sootch for the review. As soon as I seen it on the Springfield's website I knew it's not going to be a snapysourus like the original although I love my and been carrying it the extended mag for that purpose - better grip and flip mitigation. Looking forward to your comparison with the SIG P365XL.
This gun is definitely bigger than the Sig P365XL being Springfield just made another Glock 19.
@@chucks_88 no it is not bigger than the 365xl same size. same size as the glock g43x also. this is now where near a glock 19
@@chucks_88 No its obviously thinner than a G19.
@@chucks_88 Same size as the P365XL, with 3 more rounds. Check out handgun hero website for comp. This is a major win for Springfield.
@@chucks_88 I have both the
P365XL and the Hellcat Pro and they are nearly identical in every dimension except the P365XL grip is angled and shorter in the back even though both are listed as 4.8". These are definitely smaller than a Glock 19.
Just bought a hellcat and feels great in the hand. Also bought 12 rnd mags for my p365. Makes it a million times better to grip with extension
Very good video! I just purchased my hellcat pro today & will take it to the range this weekend! Super excited
I may be in the minority, but the slightly thicker Glock frame helps reduce recoil. At least that has been my shooting experience. And a very thin grip actually rubs my hand the wrong way. I would wind up having to put a Pachmeyer grip sleeve on it. So I'm glad this gun is wonderful and I know people will love it, but I will stick with my Glock 19.
Even when Springfield makes clearly the better gun, people will still say their little glock 19 is better 😂
@@jorgeguerra5876 And who says Springfield is better than the Glock? And who says Glocks better than Springfield? It's personnel preference so no need to be snarky. But I'll be a little snarky too and say even though Sig makes a FAR superior gun but people just have to stick with their Springfield Hellcat or Hellcat pro.
Glock 19 comes with 3 15 round mags too I think I'll keep my gen 5 19 without the cutout for me and ambi slide release.
@@jorgeguerra5876 Glock started it and everything thing else is a wanna be , I mean why else would everyone try to be a better Glock ?
@@chucks_88 exactly glad you said it first.
Nice, I just picked up my hellcat and cannot wait to get to range
“I like that”. Sootch is the Garth Brooks of gun reviews
Thank you for this great in depth video, i am a first time firearm owner and this is the firearm i am looking to buy, you answered every question i had once again amazing video
If you want a slim carry 9mm without pinky dangle like this one, you should consider the Mossberg MC2c. 13rd and 15rd mags, 3.9" barrel, 1.10" width, and very affordable price. I really like mine. Perform two minor mods. Added a 3mm thick bumper behind the mag release button that I felt was a bit too exposed. Clipped the extractor spring 1 coil because the extractor tension was too high. Other than those fixable issues, perfect size, slim, excellent grip texture and nice palm swells, good capacity, great trigger, precision frame/slide/barrel fit.
This is what the Glock 48 should of been when they released it. You can get your glock 48 to this level its only going to cost an additional 200 bucks to do so, and you have to do all the modifications. S15 magazine x 2, metal mag release, Blacked out rear sight and tritium front sight, ghost edge connector, and talon Pro grips. Or you can get this gun for just under 600.
@Bill Jobes Add the 15 dollar talon grips too, remove the stock sights, and then you would be correct.
@Bill Jobes nope g48 has plastic sights and worse trigger. and hard to find the 43x and 48 in MOS and when one does that are expensive.
@@leesamuelson I sunk 200 additional to my 48 mos to get to this level.
Picked me up a Hellcat Pro Yesterday. 100 rounds into it I love it so far. Love my original Hellcat as well, but the Pro...
I leave All my Glocks at the store
It is The pro plus P rated??
Picked mine up yesterday and took it to the range. I’ve never shot the original Hellcat but the Pro has more recoil than my 365XL but still certainly manageable. It ran flawlessly though and I’m excited to have it in my lineup.
i've shot the 365 and 365xl and the Hellcat definitely has most of a recoil. Haven't shot the Pro yet though.
SCOTCH...
Thank 😊You for the review.
Sir,
Your filling a need that's IMPORTANT !
Value your knowledge and the professionalism of your presentations.
I am for BUYING BOTH the Pro and standard Hell 🐈 Cat for hip carry and belly belt carry...😊..
SUMMER CLOTHES...
WINTER.. GLOCK 21 .45 ACP AND GLOCK 30...45 ACP...😊
Look forward....To serious range time ⏲️ 👌 with BOTH.
Both are Factory Dark Coyote Brown, the first I shot it was yesterday, hitting Quarter size Buttons at 20’ ft. Tonight I ran a few mags through it at a Old Screw in Fuse from a Electrical Panel. Smoked it at 20’ ft.
I really kind of wish that Springfield Armory cut the serrations a little deeper. It is still a good looking pistol, but deeper serrations would make this pistol really badass.
I’ll be trying this out next in the range here in CA!
That hellcat looks like my sig p365 XL any way you could compare them together when you get a chance that would be awesome thank you Billy from Boston
Got to agree with Sootch. I love the G19 too, but this gun has a lot to offer 👍
This Pro is basically the same size as the 43x
@@crueman78 actually smaller in every measurement except slide length.
Sootch always on point with the recoil control 👌
Do you know if the recoil is mild for a 9mm on this or is Sootch just a really good shooter? All in all, Sootch does great videos and I love them!
This long slide on the standard 11 round frame is the perfect hellcat
And with the grip extenders you can get the longer grip if you want but aren't stuck with it,
I'm pretty confident the next hellcat models will be a pair of hybrids.
I picked a Hellcat Pro up a couple days ago and it’s great. Really comfortable. It’s ALMOST the exact size basically as my Glock 43x.
Which one would you pick if you could only pick one? If just out of curiosity I’d like to see what you would pick. They’re both nice.
@@nickshowsstuff435 we actually have both. My wife got the original Hellcat previously. Personally I like the Pro with the full grip. Even though the 15 round mag in the original is the exact same length I feel the gap between the mag and the grip which isn’t as comfortable to me. As soon as I held the pro in my hand I knew that was the one I wanted.
@@Asidebar Slightly longer in length but shorter in grip height which is the limiting factor when concealed carrying.
I have both the micro and the pro. I just now figured out that the pro slide fits on the micro giving me a better shooting pistol with red dot capability but with the smaller footprint for concealment!!!🎉🎉🎉
Great pistol from Springfield, go Sootch👍👍
Thank you, great video i’ll pick mine up tomorrow 👍
Liked the original Hellcat but I couldn't shoot good groups with it, the pro on the other hand I shoot great and love it! If you have big hands like me this is the gun for you for a micro carry.
Hellcat pro is a great ccw option and can be used with a 17 round magazine from Springfield 😊

Great review as always Sir. So it’s really like the G48. Cause now you can get 15 rounds for it. One plus is it comes with 15 round mags and you do not have to get them.
But shorter in grip length.
I'm thinking I'm gonna go Hellcat Pro Optic ready. I shot my friends original and, aside from the short grip, it felt great in my medium-sized hands. And that U-Notch was phenomenal. I currently own a CZ P-01, but I feel like the HCPro will be more comfortable and allow me to configure the CZ purely for HD. The only gripe I had with his original was how my pinkie sat on the grip with his standard mag. I'm thinking the extra barrel length with the longer grip is a decent compromise for an EDC.
You three looked like John Wick and friends in that intro! 😎. Another excellent review as usual.
Nice review.
I have the Hellcat and love it. It has replaced my Kahr single stack for warmer weather carry.
I'm very intrigued by the Pro and may take a look at it.
Fondled the Glock 43x, p365, and the hellcat pro today. Hellcat had the best fit for me, thought it had the better open sights as well IMO. Will be looking at a couple more options before I decide.
The Hellcat is a great pistol, my friend likes his. I have a P365, I'm so use to the Glock 19 & 30 for Conceal Carry. I'm thinking about trading my P365 for a Hellcat.
yeah i'm in the same boat i'm looking at the hellcat pro glock 19 or sig 320
I looked and looked. I have had several and when I finally got the Pro, it is what I was looking for. Fits me perfect and just a great gun all around. I liked my 365xl but I love my Hellcat Pro!
@stlwolf71
I ended up getting a 43x and the 365xl with Romeo, got both for 1000.00 ( sig was a trade in and the glock was owned by a guy at the gun store). Figured I'd see which I liked best and sell the other, decided to keep both. Need to find a good conceal holster now
Damn would be a nice gift for me for Christmas
if you want a gun this size, i call the compact slim. you have the glock 48 with shield arms mag. the mossberg mc2c, and keltec has something coming out called p15,probably be cheaper. now the hellcat pro.
Just scored a gear up package with extra mags.❤
Imagine the hellcat pro RDP it will look so nice with compensator
Not sure if you saw QVO Tactical's video, they put the RDP slide on the PRO.
Hellcat Pro, no doubt the best CCW gun I have ever owned. It feels like it was designed to fit my very own hand.

Best guns on the market: Hellcat Pro and the Sig P365 XL
Something people tend not to include on discussing grip width on handguns vs Glock is that the Glock has polymer magazines with their metal liner. This inherently adds width, being as polymer has to be much thicker in order to provide any true rigidity. If they began making pistols with steel mags, the grip dimensions would change drastically. So that alone changes the dynamic of a comparison.
I've actually seen after market steel mags for the glock 43x and 48. Of course, it kind of sucks to spend $600 for a pistol then $50 apiece for new mags right away....
@@leewilkinson6372 Sig P320 mags are still over $50. Everything costs uber cash these days. I'd rather spend the money and make sure I've got what I want.
Great review as always Sootch! That’s awesome you get to keep it. Great pistol for sure. 👍🏻
It’s funny how a lot of comments say I’m selling my pistol for this or the next new thing. I buy all my guns because I love them. If something new comes out and it wowed me I will pick it up. I never sell only buy🇺🇸
Exactly.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my H.C.P. I carry it everywhere I go.
Love your videos Sootch00. Thanks again for another great review.
I sure love my 365 and 365xl one is a Appendix Carry, the other is carried as a Ankle Gun. Both 15 round Mags in them. Both have the Romeo Zero Optics. One has the TLR -6 Stream light/ Laser Combo. Also the XL has the Factory Comp Rail, from the Legend Series.
Very nice. My favorite among the smaller pistols.
I'm really feeling the Hellcat pro . One of the most SEXY modern pistols I've seen in a min , and the quality is there .. not too pricey, perfect for edc and possible home defense if you had to choose one all around gun ... Between this and the VP9 SK, I'm torn lol
I'd go w the HK VP9 until the price on Hellcat pro drops to the $450 range.
too bad springfield are a bunch of anti 2nd ammendment douches. pass for me.
Go with the Pro. Gear up package is 549. You can't beat it! I found them before Christmas for 499.
i like it, good info man. Is like t osee you use rests and show accuracy....always good intro tunes too!
I feel like the Sig P365 was the game changer and with their spectre comps and x macros and whatnot. Everyone else is just following now to make sales. I have both the hellcat pro and the Sig P365 in the spectre comp with x macro frame but still have all my original parts to put it back to super tiny again if I want. Haven’t shot the hellcat pro yet, but already love my 365. Hard to imagine I’ll like the hellcat pro more, but I guess anything is possible.
My friend got the Hellcat and it was a. Bit too snappy for me. I just bought a Hellcat Pro and cannot wait for it to arrive at my FFL and taking it to the range! Recently got my conceal carry and the Pro will be on my side

This function is also convenient when carrying a conceal.
I'm Japanese but I want to have this gun if I carry it.
For all who are saying about a thinner Glock check out the Glock 48. It is basically a thin G19. I do think that the Hellcat Pro is still better though.
Idk why you chose the 19 to compare it to rather than the 48 or 43x which are same size and capacity with s15 mags
yup. they don't want to compare it to the 43x mos or 48 mos as this beats them in every catagory including price. this is coming from a g43x mos owner too. which now am dumping after getting the Pro
@@leesamuelson I got my 48 and 4 s15 mags for less than this hellcat pro costs. But I shoot with irons no red dots so don’t need the MOS
@@aleffel9668 that is why I mentioned the mos. yes you can find the 43x and 48 all over and reasonable. the pro comes standard optics ready incase one wants to.
@@leesamuelson that’s fair. I still think I’d choose the p365xl over this if I were to trade in my g48 for something. But at this point I have many mags and 1,500 rounds through mine so I’ll stick with my investment
I’m 65 been military and LE my whole life. I’ve found that when people start dropping a mag and topping it off is when they start introducing malfunctions. If it’s a 15 rnd mag stick with 15 rnds. If you can’t do it with what’s in your mag. You are where you don’t belong.
I love the hellcat it's a great firearm I got the glock 43x with the black slide I love it I put rubber texture talon grips on it and it's alot better now
My XL hands hurt when shooting a thin pistol which is fine for CCW but not for any other situation. How about a G19 size pistol with a round count of a G17? I’m sure someone has figured out how to do a triple stack magazine that’s the width of a double stack.
Need a size comparison between this and 365xl
No one ever mentions at night the cartridge indicator is useless in the dark. I like the Springfield models that have the indicator pin protruding out the rear of the slide. Owning 2 of the Hellcats would definitely like that feature incorporated into the slide.
I am going to check out the Springfield Pro.
Now I got thunder kiss 65 stuck in my head after that intro music.
Hellcat, collect them all! Wallet is crying, wife is yelling.
I was wondering when a true p365xl competitor would come out, but alas here it is. This frame size and barrel length at 3.7"(same as 365xl) really is the perfect balance btwn edc and shootability. I guess the Glock48 and Mossberg were here before with slightly longer barrels. I think now, out of the 4 main "thin compacts" on the market, Im leaning towards the MC2c based on price and being Made in America. The barrel is .2" longer but .5" longer over all. The MC2c is 7.1" long, the HellcatP is 6.6". The heights are 4.9 and 4.8 respectively but thats with a 13 round mag in the MC2c, so the Hellpro is a smaller gun overall with a flushfit mag and standard 15 round capacity. The p365xl has a standard 12 round mag and the same 4.8" height. If you put a 15rd mag on the MC2c its at least a half inch taller and longer than the Hellpro. Also the Performance Center Shield has a 4" barrel so that would make 4 in this class to date. I presume the xds will be discontinued. All we need now is a shootout comparison video btwn this growing "goldilox class" of thin compacts which I think shoot way better than any thin subcompact. Long live the golden age!
Two excellent thin double-stacks that have been around awhile are the Mossberg MC2C, and the Arex Delta.
My wife loves her Hellcat!
I told her not to call me that anymore
