I really like Samus Returns. I may prefer AM2R since it basically perfected the Zero Mission Gameplay, but every Metroid Fan should give this a chance. It looks great on the 3ds screen, especially with 3D on.
Not when AM2R was DMCAed we all can see how nindon't ripped off doctor m64's work off.. I tryed this new game and it felt to Safe and Linerer..it lacked the "A'm Alone, and on my oun" feel
Nintendo has always been pretty skeptical with the Metroid franchise. It never sold very well for one reason or another. And with Other M and Federation Force's mixed reception, that didn't help Nintendo's view on the series. Samus Returns was supposedly the make-or-break game for the 2D Metroid franchise. If it flopped, then Prime 4 would be the last hope for the series. However, with a very positive reception of Samus Returns, I can almost guarantee that the series is getting back on its legs again. As the title suggests, Samus has Returned.
Metroid has never sold well because people don't like Metroid. They like a first person Metroidvania shooter. The primes are all the top selling games in the series.
It's a shame really. Like Castlevania before it, people forgot what the series was all about. Both the creators amd the players wanted different things. Maybe at some point the love will cross paths again and we get a Fusion sequel. As it stands however, patience is the name of the game. Also replaying Samus Returns.
Samus Returns is, if I'm not mistaken, the worst selling main series Metroid game ever made. I think even some of the spinoff games (like Prime Pinball) may have outsold it. I'm pretty sure Nintendo killed 2D Metroid on account of releasing this game so astoundingly late into the 3DS' life cycle... If this came out on the Switch, it would've sold 750,000+ units in the first 2 weeks.
Can we just talk about how _amazing_ those backgrounds were in 3D? Like, I actually spent most of my time in the game just staring at them, wishing I could explore further...
I know I felt that too. I kept wondering what was around the corner, or through that door, or what the massive chozo made chambers are. The backgrounds have so much work put into them. It's beautiful.
You know whats more painful than not having the metroid amiibo to unlock fusion mode? Having the metroid amiibo but not being able to use it since you have a 2DS ;_;
You can get a new or used 3DS NFC Reader off of eBay, since I haven't seen them I stores recently. I got a used one recently in great condition for Samus Returns, being that I have an original 3ds... They run at like $20 to $30... You might be able to get it cheaper if you give it a good search!
I LOVE Samus Returns. There were so many moments in the game that made this one of my all time favorites. From the beautiful counter animations, to the heart-pumping chase scene and battle with the Diggernaut, it's a worthy entry in the series. Also, just to say, I'm pretty sure they didn't include the speedbooster because of Phase Drift, I can see that combo being a bit overpowering, since they somewhat do the same thing with minor differences.
Regardless, I completely disagree, and so do most other people. Perhaps keep your opinion to yourself, as these things tend to only serve to upset people and nothing more.
The Orpheon woah.
Welcome back Albert, and nice vid. It has been a couple month since Metroid Returns was out, it good to look back after I step away from it after so many games after it. It gives me new perspective when you reflect back, I'm sure it won't be the only time as well.
I usually like to have sometime playing the game before giving my thoughts because I feel that at the beginning my opinions will be bias (be it from the hype or lack of it) and with something like a new Metroid game I really wanted to have a couple of playthroughs to give you guys my honest opinion
I sure hope Samus stays. I loved this game so much and cannot stress enough about my enjoyment on this game. Probably my second or third favorite Metroid game now after Corruption and Prime 1. Glad to hear your thoughts on the game. I will agree with what you said about some of the problems that the game has, but I had such a fun time with the game that I pretty much didn't pay much attention to much of the games problems. Also Xenoblade Chronicles 2 😊
1:50 That mining robot boss was hard as balls but it was so satisfying watching Samus nonchalantly kill it like "Yeah, Fuck you!" after all the trouble it gave me.
Well I had to make sure Elma was more visible this time around because no one seems to notice her. She is hiding in almost all my videos as an easter egg and I will continue to hide her in more (simply because she is my favorite character)
Thank you for all of your constant insight, imagination and consequently knowledge to benefit my quest to becoming ever more consciously attentive and consequently spiritually connected.

I remember seeing somewhere that it sold a quarter of a million world-wide. That was about 2 weeks after release. Edit: www.vgchartz.com/game/182673/metroid-samus-returns/
I can't say for sure, but recently I had a trip abroad and it was somewhat difficult for me to find a copy of Samus Returns because they were sold out, guess its a good sign?
Your friendly average neighbourhood demon If you want to check, don't check Vgchartz cause they make up their numbers of guesstimate until official numbers are released, im pretty sure it at least as around a million. And for a game that is on a console of its 6th year now and a lot of people refuse to buy games on the 3ds anymore, that's pretty good
Boy, this game is the best. This was my first Metroid game, and I can't explain how much I love it. Metroid has now become my favorite franchise, thanks to this game and the Prime Trilogy.
Ive been on a Mercury steam appreciation kick..So im going through not only Samus Returns but also their Castlevania Lords of Shadows games...but man, they truly have passion for whatever games they make..
i think you'll find alot of people agreeing with your positives and negatives of this game. i dont think it was that hard for mercurysteam because they had some genre experience before. but you need that pressure put on to excel.
Nice work, Chum. I'm glad to see that you finally finished the video and that it turned out great. Samus Returns is definitely a great return to form done right. Now if only the same could happen with Paper Mario. I don't know how I'd rank it compared to other Metroid games yet, but I'd say maybe somewhere in the top 3 or 5. Keep up the good work, Albert. I can't wait until your next video and hope your channel keeps growing. :)
Glad to see you enjoyed the video. I was really happy with how the game was still true-to-form but still added new ideas and mechanics to the series, it s a great blend of the old with the new. I hope you continue to enjoy my content and thanks for the support
I loved this game. It could arguably be my favourite game in the series. What I like about it is the freedom you have with Samus’s abilities. The only thing that is missing is the shinespark, but I always thought it was an OP broken ability.
I agree, I felt it was so refreshing that in this game the you had a little more freedom on which of Samus's abilities you wanted to use (especially with the Aeion abilities) kinda gave me the feeling that every power-up had a very unique and important role in my arsenal and they didn't feel as situational as before
Oh my, after watching a few of your videos, I've seen how much work you put into you videos. This is a quality channel, with quality videos! You've definitely earned my subscription. Please, keep making videos, I genuinely love your channel. You should do a playthrough of one of the games, I hope it's either this game, or Prime 3. (P.S. I turned on the bell c:)
Great video, I agree with most of your points. My biggest surprise was the level design. Hearing Sakamoto and Mercury Steam talk at E3 and GamesCom, I feared they would stick too much to Metroid 2. Metroid 2's level design is in my opinion at times not even really Metroid(vania)-like so I was really glad they greatly enhanced the map in a very good way. The game now really feels like many little Metroidvania-levels in a row which is the best thing you could've made out of Metroid 2. AM2R went a similair route, but being a fan-made game, it didn't go far enough. Naturally, you can hardly blame them. I now look very much forward to what Mercury Steam will do with Metroid when they don't have the restraints of Metroid 2. When they aren't forced to include like 30 Alpha and Gamma Metroid mini-bosses. When they can make one coherent world and don't have to do levels. Their original content with the original bosses was very good. And while you could argue the final boss didn't have to be there, it was a stellar fight in terms of gamedesign.
I absolutely loved free aiming in this game. The game had its flaws but given that it was mercury steam's first attempt and their past history with 3ds titles is pretty mediocre im still impressed. I can't wait to see what else these guys can do if they develop another one. Hopefully a fusion remake or dread. This game is up there with zm and fusion
Really looking forward to getting this game. I only recently fell in love with the series and right now the only thing that's really stopping me from getting the game is my wallet crying at me because of Christmas stuff and the fact I'm not 100% sure on the condition of my 3ds after a bottle of Iced Tea spilled inside of it and directly onto my 3ds. It has been 5 or 6 months since that day and I have yet to even touch my 3ds since then out of absolute fear.
I thought he was very unique/refreshing in terms of his visual design, involvement with the lore (a Chozo robot) and it introducing more attacks with each round. My only complain is that he doesn't have a unique theme-song and instead its a remake from the Berserker Lord from Prime 3
What I like the most about it is how it serves as a recurring rival in the game. It makes it all the more satisfying when Samus finally blows its face up.
I do hope the developers make a remake of Fusion... it would be great! Honestly, I think it be awesome since they did do something ~SPOILER~ at the end. I hope they do, it would be interesting to see what they can do with the fact Samus has Metroid DNA in her.
I was just telling my friend today about how not having ending illustrations similar to the Chozo Memories and the prologue was such a missed opportunity. Oh well, still a good game. Great video by the way, I love your channel.
Yeah its a bit of a missed opportunity but I can live with it, I am happy to hear you enjoyed the video and my channel, hope you look forward to more content
Love the level design and layouts, how the order or the levels is linear, but how you explore them is totally up to you. But with the abundance of enemies and lack of variety therein, the game fails at what the other entries had perfected: subtlety. Also did we NEED more remixes of Brinstar 2 and Lower Norfair?
Totally agree, it reminded me a lot of Fusion's formula but with a little more freedom of what you can explore in each area, but indeed the lack of enemy variety was a missed opportunity to add subtlety Personally I need more remixes of Torvus Bogg
I loved this game, but I really wish there was some more newish stuff, basically not 100 gamma metroids, I was hoping serris and Genesis would be here, but the diggernaut, arachnus, and the final boss kept me hooked
I agree, maybe having 1 more call-back or new boss would have been cool, but in a way I could fear that having way too many bosses would detract from what really is your main mission, destroying all the Metroids. In a way I feel that if the game had a lot of bosses or mini-bosses the Metroid encounters could have feel less important.
True, but then again Am2r did it well, and not that I doubt they have stuff up their sleeves (which from what I'm hearing is going to be a fusion remake) and there's still Prime 4 that could bring back other bosses, Serris in 3D would be like a reaper from subnatica
Ditto, I have trouble going in the ocean in Minecraft (Minecraft of all things) but it doesn't have to be an open ocean, it could be like the worm boss from other m
I played this game over the past few weeks as a relatively new fan to Metroid (have played Super, Fusion, Prime, and AM2R to completion before this, all in the last year) and gotta say this review is pretty fair if a bit starry-eyed. My main gripes are indeed the lack of enemy variation and a couple of areas that do kind of blend together visually (especially the first few areas). I also agree the running away Metroid is super annoying, but I also don't think it's a very fun boss fight even without that trick. It's a shame too because you fight this one a lot while you barely get to fight the wall-climbing Metroid, which I think is by far more fun and interactive (pulling him from the ceiling with a grapple beam is great. Fantastic idea, MercurySteam!). Less of an outright gripe but more confusing is the fact the baby Metroid is required to collect everything. After you beat the Queen you kinda just want to go up and finish the game, but there's actually more stuff for you to collect. It breaks the game flow a bit for me, and I personally would've loved it more if by the time you fight the Queen you could already have all upgrades ready. Not even that it'd change much in the final fight difficulty-wise, I just personally feel that when you go down for the final Metroid boss you should be all decked out. Looking at the Amiibo content though, the idea of Fusion Mode being locked behind a pretty rare and expensive Amiibo (cheapest I've found was on Amazon for 60 usd... The price of a full new game), has me getting pretty salty. Somehow back when I played on my 3DS extensively I managed to avoid Amiibos (mostly played older titles), so I never really realised how anti-consumer those things are. Overpriced, limited-supply DLC. It's the worst of both worlds. When you buy a game years after release and want all content, you shouldn't have to cough up extra money for out-of-print pieces of plastic with inflated prices.
I've had this video in my "Watch later" list for maybe 2 months or so because I had not beaten the game. That changed last night when I finally completed it at 100%. I gotta say, I LOVED this game. Music, the aeon abilities, art style, the melee mechanic, those moments where I discovered a new missile expansion, just all of it. It was bittersweet though. I didn't want it to end. Even when I knew I was close to finishing/reaching the final boss, I'd delay getting to it by exploring every nook and cranny possible from past areas to 100% the game. My only teeny tiny regret is not playing it on a 3DS to see some of the scenes in 3D. (I bought the game digitally on the "new" 2DS XL.) Otherwise, I'm glad I gave it the attention it deserved. Next up, complete Federation Force which I was in the middle of (missions 15-18 were the last batch of missions that I unlocked) before playing Samus Returns with maybe a little Fusion from the Ambassador games and Super Metroid mixed in. Speaking of Super Metroid, I'm hoping Nintendo does a Super Metroid "3nhanced" game for Switch. One can dream, right?
You know Orpheon? I sub after i watch 2 of your videos and there are 2 reasons, your use on megaman starforce and battle network as BGM, and metroid as the topic. Priceless...
I hope the videos are entertaining, and I just love MMBN and Starforce too much to not use the amazing OST, excited for legacy collection (also streaming BN-5 reuploads coming soon on second channel)
I already had the original GB Metroid game back so once I got Samus Returns I got kinda board at the beginning just because it was the same as it was at the GB just with a new coat of paint and a lot more easy thanks to the counter and Aeion abilities. I kinda resented these changes during that time. Since I have time with the quarantine I decided to go back and finish this game. I now value the Aeion abilities especially for there use in puzzle which I find as the most clever and new of the game. For the first time ever in a 2D metroid game the Grapple beam did not seem so useless (For many years this thing was in my #1 top 3 beams I do not mind never to return in a future Metroid game) The teleport and map is a blessing since getting to one place to another really takes a lot of time on foot. 3:39 Same The Baby Metroid was always heart warming from the get go, although that peaceful moment was kinda ruined at the end of the newer game, an epic boss fight, very epic indeed (one that I wish Super Metroid would had) yet came out of nowhere for this game. I still feel kinda at the middle about the counter strike : It's very nice in Boss battles yet it grows super repetitive with smaller enemies, I also think that killing enemies in the old fashion way should reward the player with the extra goods and not the other way around. Using the counter is kinda safe (for a simple arm bash it's pretty OP) and just slows down the pace of the game for me when traveling from one side of the map to the other, of course once you get the Screw Attack (a move that is legitimate force of death) you can traverse the caves at a normal Metroid pace with out the use of the counter or any of the enemies blocking your way because, yeah... they are pretty aggressive, repetitive but pretty aggressive which I think is the right direction to future 2D Metroid enemy AI.
That's strategy feel is how I felt playing Metroid for the NES. More so before obtaining the Varia Suit. I would go slow and grab energy/middle drops every single time. That way I avoided the need to farm in certain areas. All that to say, I believe they just went back to the root roots 😁
The biggest gameplay thing I don't like about Samus Returns is that the Ice Beam doesn't stack, making it useless outside of creating platforms and fighting Metroids. That means the Ice Beam will always have a purpose, but only because it's required to progress. I love the Ice Beam and since it didn't stack with the rest of the beams was a total bummer for me. I hope that doesn't become permanent thing for later games. Prime 1 did it and that's fine since none of the beams stacked. However, from what I've heard, the Ice Beam was created to not stack because it made the game too easy since you're hunting Metroids after all... but the Ice Beam is an iconic power for Samus and you're overpowered by the end of the game anyway. The only other complaint I have is that when I first bought the game I played the game for at least 5-6 hours straight, my arms started to hurt and I couldn't play longer!!! It also stung that I was in Florida when hurricane Irma hit, meaning that it took an extra week for me to get my copy of the game and the Samus Returns 3DS. Also, a Metroid themed console, finally, is amazing along with my Samus Returns key chain that I will never take off. Ever. Never. Uh uh. Nope.
The Orpheon, I have watched several of your videos and they are indeed really good Im still playing samus returns but idk about spoilers and as well as your channel is very professional but not as popular which its a bummer you should have more subs, and that’s why I’m going to subscribe. 👍
I love the game, and its refreshing to see the metroid series move toward the game designs that made the previous games so special, though I think that its not quite up to par to many of the originals yet. I think the biggest room for improvement is the atmosphere and environments. As people have mentioned the lack of enemy variety doesn't help sell the environments. I also think that most of the areas are so dense and re-spawn rates are pretty high that it gives the player little room to stop and admire the environments. I think the game went for a more combat focused game which was a cool idea and I think was well executed but in doing so they lowered the focus of the environments and atmosphere. I also think they remixed a few too many metroid classics
I agree with what you say, I just wanted to add that I feel the problem with the music is that it also feels like they are too many remixes of classic themes because of the lack of any new catchy theme, however I do feel the atmospheric tracks helped in creating a nice sense of dread of mystery
What were your thoughts on that surprise boss fight near the end with a certain purple space dragon, did it catch you off guard, was it good, did it add something to the game
I thought it was pretty fun! Here I thought that i'd finish the game once I killed the queen but nope surprise boss! His fight was a little too long for my liking (3 phases of the same thing almost) but the set pieces and co-op with the baby made it super memorable
The Orpheon yeah it's awesome they managed to squeeze Samus #1 nemesis into the newest installment of the series, while also adding something new to the battle (ei the baby Metroid)
I remember simpler times. When all u needed was a new instolmemt in your favorite game series. Back than we didn't bitch about what was wrong with the game. We just played It's good to see Samus came back on a good note. There is a reason she is one of the 3 blonds I can actually respect. + She is arguably the best NINTENDO girl Yes fans fo Princes Peach and Princess Zelda I am calling u out
i finished the game 2 days ago, andthis game is making me want to play it again, wich is a thing that dont happen with me most of the time, thats how FUN ths game is.
I really like Samus Returns. I may prefer AM2R since it basically perfected the Zero Mission Gameplay, but every Metroid Fan should give this a chance. It looks great on the 3ds screen, especially with 3D on.
Alexander Becker for me, Its probably the Game that uses 3d the best
They're pretty different games in how they recreated Metroid 2, so whichever one people pick its a good choice.
If they redid the textures, and gave the models a face lift, this game would look ripe for the Switch
Not when AM2R was DMCAed we all can see how nindon't ripped off doctor m64's work off.. I tryed this new game and it felt to Safe and Linerer..it lacked the "A'm Alone, and on my oun" feel
Oh my god, did you even read the replies?
Nintendo has always been pretty skeptical with the Metroid franchise. It never sold very well for one reason or another. And with Other M and Federation Force's mixed reception, that didn't help Nintendo's view on the series.

I think its safe to say that the reception for the game was very positive so I'm sure we might get another 2D game in the future
it feels a bit like the Awakening of Metroid, in a sense

The thing I love most about this game is how badass they made Samus. She shows no fear in the sight of these big monsters
I subscribed to your channel because you make adorable drawings of Samus.
I subbed for krokomire

Its £13 new on amazon right now. *This is not a drill*
Ordered that squishibo in a heart beat
ShadowPM there are tons where I live even at my local target
Meh, fusion mode isn't worth it. Might as well as call it Bullshit Mode
Also the melee attack was introduced in Other M one of the few things other M did well in
OOOOOOOH BOY! A new Orph video and I’m early! Love hearing his voice it’s just so... calming.
Almost as serene as Crocomire's voice X3
Deedonis Agreed
Hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for the compliment on the voice?
The Orpheon 👍

The Power Bomb + Spider Ball launch trick basically replaces the Speed Booster.
(Edit: Changed wording)
That too, yeah. Phase Drift + the Power Bomb launch would make the Speed Booster redundant.
this game is a complete fuck up. its so contradictive of the lore that its not even canon
Troll bait?
Regardless, I completely disagree, and so do most other people. Perhaps keep your opinion to yourself, as these things tend to only serve to upset people and nothing more.
The developers are from my country.
It is nice to see them doing justice to one of my four favourite franchises.
Bueno hicieron un tremendo trabajo en mi opinion. Me medio sorprendió ver un equipo Español cuando mostraron el juego durante E3
The Orpheon woah.

Honestly the most awesome moment from this game was samus shooting the golem, i forgot if that's what it's called, without looking
That one single moment had more character than the entirety of Other M
@6powersofM I'm dead
6powersofM in fact a lot of the cut scenes showed more character than other m.
I'm guessing they had to remove them due to the capacity of the game or time
Chawed Mirth Pratt maybe.
I remember getting the game for christmas. It was the first Metroid game I've played, and it made me completely love the series.
Can I just say that I'm in love with all the chibi art in your videos!?
Wow dude you deserve many more subs. I just found your channel a couple days ago and it's amazing. Best metroid channel in youtube
Great video as always, I was lucky to get some inside scoop on the stream!
I remember stumbling on you last year, and it's great to now see your channel getting the attention that it deserves. Keep that ball rolling!
Thanks, I hope my videos keep entertaining you in the future I will make sure to keep that ball rolling
Crocomire had his amiibo and 3ds
Shameless advertising from Crocomire's part
I'd buy it
The Orpheon does that mean we’re getting a new limited edition crocomire 3ds?
An interesting thing I found out is that metroid is inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos
metroid dread that's why most of the bosses in the series (especially the prime games) are Cthulhu level aliens, it's cool as fuck
1:50 That mining robot boss was hard as balls but it was so satisfying watching Samus nonchalantly kill it like "Yeah, Fuck you!" after all the trouble it gave me.
Yeah easily my favorite moment in the game
THAT XENOBLADE X SOUND TRAK IN THE BACK GROUND OMG I LOVE YOU
I love Xenoblade X, and all I'll say is that a certain colonel is hiding in the video, see if you can spot her
The Orpheon is that so? If I find her I'll let you know on twitter. I'm pretty sure it's Elma
The Orpheon oh...it isn't even hidden XD I didn't see it the first time around because I was drawing
Well I had to make sure Elma was more visible this time around because no one seems to notice her. She is hiding in almost all my videos as an easter egg and I will continue to hide her in more (simply because she is my favorite character)
The Orpheon wow. That changes everything. Im gonna pay more attention from now on
Thank you for all of your constant insight, imagination and consequently knowledge to benefit my quest to becoming ever more consciously attentive and consequently spiritually connected.

Yay! Another great video! Thank you for making amazing videos! ^^
Happy you enjoyed it
Boy, this game is the best. This was my first Metroid game, and I can't explain how much I love it. Metroid has now become my favorite franchise, thanks to this game and the Prime Trilogy.
Great review! Samus Returns was my favorite game last year!
subscribed :)
Oof, you hit me hard in the childhood with that ending theme from megaman battlenetwork
Oh, yeaaaaaa! New video from yo- boi Orpheon!
Hope you enjoyed it
The Orpheon Enjoyed it? I LOVED IT!
Love all your megaman background music in your videos lol
Huge fan of the series and the OST, even added a shot of my Star Force figure in the video
Ive been on a Mercury steam appreciation kick..So im going through not only Samus Returns but also their Castlevania Lords of Shadows games...but man, they truly have passion for whatever games they make..
Welcome back man. Missed your videos.
Thank you, hope you look forward for more videos in the future
i think you'll find alot of people agreeing with your positives and negatives of this game. i dont think it was that hard for mercurysteam because they had some genre experience before. but you need that pressure put on to excel.
5:50 The original Fusion Mode in Metroid Prime was tied behind a paywall of owning two games and a method to link them together.
I actually have a copy of Fusion, it was given to me. Problem is, I can't find it and haven't seen it in almost a decade! >:O
my biggest complaint is Ridley boss fight at the end.
This could become one of my most favourite Videos. It has, Metroid, Amiibos and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Figures. There is nothing I could like more.
I would have added my Kamen Rider OOO, W and Build figures but I just bought Dan Kuroto and wanted to include him
The opening and chozo memories are even better in 3D
glad to see a video from you
Hope you enjoyed it, getting back into making more videos
I loved the AC DC town theme at the final of the video.
I loved this game. It could arguably be my favourite game in the series. What I like about it is the freedom you have with Samus’s abilities. The only thing that is missing is the shinespark, but I always thought it was an OP broken ability.
I agree, I felt it was so refreshing that in this game the you had a little more freedom on which of Samus's abilities you wanted to use (especially with the Aeion abilities) kinda gave me the feeling that every power-up had a very unique and important role in my arsenal and they didn't feel as situational as before
You can ''sort of'' Shinespark by combining the Spider Ball and Power Bomb
I really like how the ice beam works on the Metroids, as well it should.
Also, between you and me, I've only played all the of prime series, hunters, and super Metroid.
Nice review. If you’re up to it I think we really need another fair review of Federation Force out there. Keep up the great videos
5:35 Nice choice of word!
Metroid and kirby 64 were a big part of my childhood. I passed those games like once a year. It was my ritual xD
For being my first metroid game ever it was really good for my expectations
Finally someone who likes Diggernaut.
_Correcting my typo three years after the fact, this is the definitive edition of this comment_
AM2R perfected the 2D series, Samus Returns took it to the next level.
Have you played AM2R?
@@retrodragon2249 He did but he failed to see how AM2R is any better then Samus Returns.
I do hope the developers make a remake of Fusion... it would be great! Honestly, I think it be awesome since they did do something ~SPOILER~ at the end. I hope they do, it would be interesting to see what they can do with the fact Samus has Metroid DNA in her.
You can use spider ball to not get sucked up by the Diggernaut? that makes that part so much easier! -_-
Its also helpful to avoid the plasma attacks from the Queen Metroid
Totally agree, it reminded me a lot of Fusion's formula but with a little more freedom of what you can explore in each area, but indeed the lack of enemy variety was a missed opportunity to add subtlety
Personally I need more remixes of Torvus Bogg
This is my favourite Metroid game.
Eh, Zero Mission still holds my heart.
I luv the MMSF3 background music
Metroid Prime 2 is legit the best Metroid game and possibly one of the best of all Nintendo games
Rowanmario 1956 Please no serris in 3d. I have a huge fear of the open ocean which is why ill never play subnautica
Ditto, I have trouble going in the ocean in Minecraft (Minecraft of all things) but it doesn't have to be an open ocean, it could be like the worm boss from other m
yeah me too. i didn't even like fighting serris in fusion. prime is even worse for me. and yeah those squids in minecraft were pretty scary to me lol
AM2R is severely overrated.
WOO DREAD IS HERE LET'S GOOOOOOOOO
Completely agree, mercury steam did a great job.
One can dream, right?
man, i love your videos!
Thank you, it really means a lot hearing you guys enjoy the videos I make
You know Orpheon? I sub after i watch 2 of your videos and there are 2 reasons, your use on megaman starforce and battle network as BGM, and metroid as the topic. Priceless...
I hope the videos are entertaining, and I just love MMBN and Starforce too much to not use the amazing OST, excited for legacy collection (also streaming BN-5 reuploads coming soon on second channel)
There is some satisfaction in managing to beat Gamma Metroid before their first runnaway.
And I still need to finish Samus Returns… Thanks Albert for reminding! And also… I’m missing Bird Magic
Yeah no bird magic in this video just a Metroid fan giving his thoughts on the new video. Hope you get to finish it soon
This game was actually quite hard since I had to get used to the melee counter.
For the first time ever in a 2D metroid game the Grapple beam did not seem so useless (For many years this thing was in my #1 top 3 beams I do not mind never to return in a future Metroid game)
The teleport and map is a blessing since getting to one place to another really takes a lot of time on foot.
3:39 Same
The Baby Metroid was always heart warming from the get go, although that peaceful moment was kinda ruined at the end of the newer game, an epic boss fight, very epic indeed (one that I wish Super Metroid would had) yet came out of nowhere for this game.
Is the bgm (3:35) on this video from XCX? I swear I've heard it before
Oblivia night theme, I ADORE XCX and Elma... as it shows on my social media and 'Elma for Smash' video
@@TheOrpheon awesome choice. Subscribed!
Can we just talk about how he used Battle Network music as the ending and that's super dope?
Can we talk about how dope Battle Network is? And how I used the music in almost the entire video?
That's strategy feel is how I felt playing Metroid for the NES. More so before obtaining the Varia Suit. I would go slow and grab energy/middle drops every single time. That way I avoided the need to farm in certain areas. All that to say, I believe they just went back to the root roots 😁
I love how you put some music from MMBN and Mega man Star force
PS: Sorry for my bad english
Love your videos!
This is first metroid game
Ever. Never. Uh uh. Nope.
I just finished this game through the story, 50% complete and am glad that I can now watch this video without any spoilers!
yay.
Crocomire and crocomire amiibo for the next Metroid game!
Also those are some really unique thoughts on it
Where do you get your chibi samus illustrations orpheon theire really cool
Personal artwork made exclusively for the channel
ok thx
HE'S BACK
About time? hope you enjoy videos to come in the future
So i just learned that the fusion suit deals 4 times the damage when hit thats why it was so hard but i still beat it
Proteus Pterodactyl Pummeler Parenting a Powerful Prepubescent.
I haven't beaten it yet i keep getting lost. Or stuck.
This is a very neat review
I like it 👍
Happy to hear you enjoyed it. Hope my other videos are to your liking as well
The Orpheon, I have watched several of your videos and they are indeed really good Im still playing samus returns but idk about spoilers and as well as your channel is very professional but not as popular which its a bummer you should have more subs, and that’s why I’m going to subscribe. 👍
I like how Zeta Metroid's are basically Xenomorphs.
I agree with what you say, I just wanted to add that I feel the problem with the music is that it also feels like they are too many remixes of classic themes because of the lack of any new catchy theme, however I do feel the atmospheric tracks helped in creating a nice sense of dread of mystery
never felt 3 weeks go by like 3 months
4:19 Can someone tell me what that song is in the background?
Whats the song that starts at 8:28 please :)
I remember that first missile blocks to grab the edges I just wall jumped because they made it easier
As long as you use the missle and super missle, as well as the charged Ice beam alot, the gammas aren't getting very far away
After a few years after my fisrt playthrough, I got back to the game and beat it on Fusion mode with 100% items.
I can hear some Mega Man Battle Network remix music in the background
I remember simpler times. When all u needed was a new instolmemt in your favorite game series.
Back than we didn't bitch about what was wrong with the game.
We just played
It's good to see Samus came back on a good note. There is a reason she is one of the 3 blonds I can actually respect. + She is arguably the best NINTENDO girl
Yes fans fo Princes Peach and Princess Zelda I am calling u out
Black_ Fog i prefer brunette zelda personally. but yea samus is the ninty girl. or the videogame girl really.
Game critique is as ancient as the industry itself, what are you talking about?
Black fog im on ur side with this
i finished the game 2 days ago, andthis game is making me want to play it again, wich is a thing that dont happen with me most of the time, thats how FUN ths game is.
That Megaman Starforce and BN background music
