On the birth of the beloved flying elephant Dumbo, a stork seeks out his mother Mrs. Jumbo and on that day his name was chosen to be Jumbo Junior. But the truth is, and I’m sorry if you believe in the stork, mammalian children like Dumbo are born from a mother AND have a father, just like you and me! So who is this elephant? Who is Mr. Jumbo?

In your video, you forgot that Dumbo was originally named Jumbo Jr. and if his father was the real Jumbo's son then he would be Jumbo II or Jumbo III if his father was the thrid.

I like the theory you are representing here. And, I can see a possibility, but the movie itself would dictate that babies of any animal are given to their families, via stork delivery. Now, that is not to say that Mrs. Jumbo didn't have a mate before her son was given to her by the Stork. He would still be argued to be the father of Dumbo.
A way to put this into perspective, when sending a letter to the Stork Delivery Service for a baby to raise, the form has to be signed by both mother and father, before delivery can take flight. Once upon Delivery though, only one parent, perferably the mother, would need to sign the delivery was successful. So Dumbo's Father could have passed away, or been transfered to another circus or a zoo, after the Letter was sent to the Storks.
Can you do a theory on how the kids from Pinocchio turned into donkies.
Since babies are brought by the stork in Dumbo’s world... What if the stork made a mistake and brought a pure African Elephant calf to Mrs. Jumbo instead of the right calf? The stork was already proving himself kind of an airhead by running late, and almost letting Dumbo fall through the clouds by not watching him while he sat trying to find the circus winter grounds. And of course Mrs. Jumbo would never think to question it because in the beginning of the movie we all see how desperate she is for a baby as she sees the other animals’ babies arriving on time.
Considering the same stork gave a baby lion to a flock of sheep, I wouldn’t be surprised...

i think that its possible jumbo is dumbo's father maybe before his early death mrs jumbo was sent over to help save this legacy which is why the stork arrived late to deliver her son jumbo jr or dumbo and if dumbo's mom was a asian elephant while jumbo was a african elephant it's possible they where compatible

Since childhood, I always thought Dumbo was adopted, since he is brought to her rather than being birthed by her; also since he's an African elephant and his surrogate mother an Asian. Maybe she called him "Jumbo Jr" because she herself was called Jumbo (possibly after the late Jumbo) and wanted her adopted son to be named after her. Assuming Dumbo was adopted, it would be interesting to know who his mother was too. And what happened to her.

I grew up in the film world back in the day, and there is an actual, real historical reason for the absence of Mr. Jumbo; he went to fight in WWII.
Dumbo was made in 1940, and, originally, Mr. Jumbo was supposed to be a part of the story. When the US entered WWII right after Pearl Harbor it became clear that many children would now be missing their fathers, and for some children their fathers would never return. At Disney, the decision was made to leave out the father's part in the story because, for so many children, it would not be fun or humorous if they had to think about their fathers being away. And it would be very emotionally painful for those facing their father's permanent absence.
That means his name is actually Jumbo Jr. Jr., or Jumbo III

Have you seen the scrapped Dumbo concept art? Dumbo's father is indeed an African elephant meaning Dumbo is a hybrid elephant!
I think Jumbo's father must have been a African elephant that lived a bit more time than jumbo the one that lived in England
So, according to the this theory, Jumbo was possibly Dumbo's Grandfather.

I always loved the story of the real Jumbo; it’s very sad 😢 and my heart breaks when I listen to his story on repeat. It makes sense really that Dumbo is Jumbo’s grandson. I’m sure he would be very proud of Dumbo 🐘 for being really special. 🦋✨

I think it would be more likely if Jumbo's hypothetical *grandson* was the father of Dumbo.
Then Jumbo and his son would have each been at the prime of their life when they each fathered their respective son. Rather than fathering children in old age.
My conspiracy: you know how a stork brought Dumbo to his mom. Well what if the stork is Dumbos dad. That would also explain why Dumbo is able to fly🤷♀️. Just my theory 🤗

Good theory, the only issue is that if Dumbo's father was Jumbo's son who would have also been named Jumbo, Dumbo would be Jumbo III not Jumbo Jr as said in the movie

When you mention about the the death of a baby elephant from the different species of two elephants; maybe Jumbo Jr (Dumbo) died in the few days after birth. and the Stork gave the baby elephant that died back to Mrs Jumbo.
like in Mr Stork's poem: "Here is a baby nice and new, straight from heaven, right to you" or "Straight from heaven up above, here is a baby for you to love"
Storks got the babies from heaven whom now became revived. Makes sense?
In the direct-to-video film Dumbo II we were to learn about Dumbo's father.

That is a really interesting theory! It seems though, (from a VERY quick search) that unfortunately, Jumbo never had the opportunity to breed at all. However, you stating that if Jumbo had had a son, that would have been the father that bred Dumbo, however he would have been very old....so, taking the theory just one step further, what about the possibility that it would have been Jumbo's GRANDSON that was Mrs. Jumbo's husband. Thank you though for teaching me about the real Jumbo the Elephant though!

Wait, so Barnum and Bailey's trained and showcased an AFRICAN ELEPHANT?? Were they stupid, or just woefully ignorant? African Elephants are extremely dangerous, hyper-aggressive, territorial and easily startled. They make Asian Elephants look like puppies in comparison. I'm surprised that Jumbo didn't rip his handlers to shreds, especially after they cut off his tusks like that.
I'd love it if you might do a video on the other female elephants in dumbo, and deeper look into their backstories.

Maybe when Mrs. Jumbo was in the wild she met a male bull elephant and when she was brought to the circus, the stork brought dumbo.
Notice all the elephants at the circus are female. And the other animals at the circus are male and female couples like the giraffes, the bears, the tigers......

Yeah Dumbo is probably a crossbreed, and the only elephant crossbreed died like a couple weeks later, I think if in a fantasy of a flying elephant there a chance of a crossbreed elephant.

Maybe Dumbo is based of the story of Motty since the mom is an Asian elephant and the dad is an African elephant named Jumbolino but then again there is a sketch of Dumbo in front of a poster that has his dad-JUMBO . like Disney always does, they change the story. maybe in Dumbo he lived a lot longer then died before Dumbo was born. Since the real Jumbo died pretty young and Disney loves to change the story. its a combination between Jumbo and Motty stories
All we know is that we got to keep these beautiful creatures out of Circus and keep them alive!

I don't think Dumbo is really hers to begin with. That stork is so careless that he could have easily grab the wrong elephant baby. Hence why he has those massive ears while the other elephants have those much smaller ears and why the timeline don't match up.
Mate, I love this theory and it's not impossible to see it any differently (not a bad thing at all) but the reality of the world in this particular movie is that the stork brought Dumbo to his mum and the logistics of breeding doesn't particularly matter in that case. However I love your theories, I've had the playlist on for the last day listening to them, this video is awesome and the work, time, research, effort and love you put into everything shows in each video you produce. 🙌
That would technically make Dumbo 'Jumbo III', if Jumbo's son was his father. So why would Mrs. Jumbo name him Junior, unless his father was also named Jumbo. Knowing how P.T. Barnum was a shrewd businessman, I wouldn't be surprised if he did that, to say that the famous giant elephant and the one in his circus were one and the same, for a time.

Do you think there might be a connection between Sleeping Beauty and The Black Cauldron? Aurora has a striking resemblance to Eilonwy, and Phillip looks an awful lot like Taran. Maybe Phillip and Aurora in some way knew their destinies were intertwined because The Black Cauldron was a reoccurring dream they both experienced during their childhood. I mean, Aurora and Phillip meet in the forest singing Once Upon a Dream. This theory is probably a bit of a stretch considering they are both based on books by two different authors, and I've never researched the timelines of the films, but I've thought about this for a few years so I thought the idea might be worth sharing 🤷🏼♀️ Your channel is amazing by the way!!! 😁👍
