Will etching work on 0.2 thick acrylic?
Hi! .2 what? 3/32” or 2.4mm is the thickest that can pass through. Remember this isn’t technically recommended for Explorer…but mines fine and still champing it out.
A few questions (I am watching this with closed caption, so apologies if you explained it and the CC just didn’t show it to me):
Is the O-ring to keep the engraving tool from pushing too deep into the acrylic? And how thick is the acrylic blank? And also I saw something about 30° angle but the CC wasn’t really picking everything you said up, so not sure what the angle thing was about~
Sorry to bombard you with questions!
The o ring holds the blade in place. 2mm it 1/16th of an inch thickness for acrylic is perfect.
I’m not sure what the angle might of been about. 😑 sorry!!
NEVER be sorry for asking questions!! That’s why I started my Facebook group several years ago. 🥰🥰🥰

Morning Kamala and @ohnoajae
I was also wondering about the thickness of the Acrylic Blanks. and how to get the 30° angle for the Filler Shape, please.
I bought my Engraving Tool for my Explore Air 2 on eBay and the guy who sold it said I didn't need an O Ring as it was made for the Explore Air 2, but think I'll get one to have on hand anyway, so thank you for sharing the measurements.
Wishing you both a good and safe day. Chrissy
Just subscribed!! Mostly a woodworker, crappy welder😂, loving my new xTool F1 laser, but totally ignorant on Cricut and sure didn’t know it could engrave acrylic. What’s you opinion on CO2 versus IR versus blue diode versus cricut to make shallow, engraving or markings on acrylic, for backlit or under lit, or non-illuminated applications? Thanks so much.
Does it cut 0.20 acrylic
No! The Cricut does not cut acrylic. I use my xtool D1 to cut acrylic.
