The bar in the corner of Glenwood and Hillsboro is call the Avenue. It’s been open for almost a year now. One of the coolest bars on Glenwood. Coming from a downtown resident
Everything next to Mellow is going away down to Cornerstone and being replaced by a residential tower and office tower with street-level retail called the madison, Creamery will be another two mixed-use towers. the DTRA report is out you can see all the stuff that's being replaced
Excellent video. Glenwood South is definitely a gem for Raleigh and I can't wait to see all the known projects materialize. It will be exciting to see a full-blown district, as opposed to an area filled with unrealized potential. Keep up the good work.
A gem?? Glenwood South is a ghetto where gunshots ring out every weekend. Someone’s always getting shot or stabbed, not to mention a recent murder that just happened. Avoid that place at all costs.
What worries me about Downtown Raleigh is no one seems to be walking. Everything looks abandoned. Does anyone live there or do they just go to a social event and then go home to the suburbs? It looks like the far outskirts of Brooklyn, mixed with a few new fancy hi rise buildings.
@@TheBestBartender Thank you. I certainly don't want Raleigh to be like NYC. But I did get spoiled walking down from my building to sit at the corner cafe and seeing people pass by. I have friends in Raleigh and they can't stop raving about it. I just want to make sure there's also a little city life as well as the beautiful parks, trails and outdoors my friends talk about.
@@gelandres I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and I’m deep in love with Raleigh. Raleigh reminds me of Soho. It’s urban and residential at the same time. There are a lot of things to do, and the people are amazing. I’m a pure New Yorker that doesn’t plan on ever leaving.
We haven't done any videos down toward Fayetteville. We have talked about Angier and Lillington which are in our area, but haven't done videos specifically on them. Let us know if you have any questions.

Which areas in NC have OLD Style architecture downtown? This is nice but WAY modern. Id like to live somewhere that looks older
I'm originally from São Paulo, Brazil. When I get homesick I head to Glenwood South to have a glimpse of the city life.

The area is very active. It has it moments where it feels deserted, but I live one block off Glenwood; and I can reassure you it’s very lively

This side of downtown Raleigh is very active. Plenty of apartments, restaurants, shopping, etc. in Glenwood South so it's a very walkable area.
They are out trust me. It is 95 degrees here during the day. Late weekend nights it is packed.
Glenwood South is really nice spent time at Hiberanian and the Ale House
It's very nice. Love Hibernian
Do you do anything lower closer or between lillington and fayetteville?
