I know there’s times it’s a pain to make videos and upload but it’s worth it.. These videos are so awesome as your the only one who captures it like this and teaches the way you do..Thanks for showing the world how it’s done
Thank you very good . Harvey I took the old broken spindle from my tractor and made a sizing reamer to size the bottom spindle bushing because it got to tight when installed . It worked good. Believe it or not you helped me with the inspiration to do this. 😊😊👍👍💝💝🍵🍵 Have a great day everyone
Yet another of Harve's videos that will be watched over and again ... just to glean everything. Thanks Ironhorse! Pleeaase! Don't quit UA-cam. You're the MAN.
That's super cool Harvey, it makes total sense for rolling the air/fuel into the cylinder. Always love the knowledge you share. Muchly appreciated from your Canadian followers.. Cheers..
Thank you Harvey always learn something when I watch your videos been wrapping my head around a couple of my own projects nice to take a break and see what’s goin on in the iron horse workshop 🙂
I love your videos and always watch them as soon as you put them up, thanks for your efforts! With that said I'm laughing this morning thinking back a few days ago when you talked about quitting UA-cam.... I think you've uploaded more videos than ever since then! Lol! I'm glad you're still making vid's, keep it up!!
This is awesome Harv. I am getting closer to trying to port a saw. Your tutorials and hands on showing us how and why this is done has peaked my interest in learning how to do some port work. Thank you sir. Love it brother. 🌲❤🌲✊
Great video Harvey!! Experimenting is way too much fun to not do it!! I'm anxious to see how this one goes. I need to try porting on film, thats something I havent put on youtube
Hey Harvey Great videos love watching them. Getting ready to rebuild one of my older 372 so very helpfully to understand the porting end of things. Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for all the info man ive ported a couple of things and opened my own small business since I started watching you months ago, I do have a sweet porting tool you may be interested in that works wonders for me, a pencil grinder and 90% one too got it from snap on for cheap which is a surprise, used to use it for getting out broken studs in ford trucks
hey there Mr Harv, Maybe if you would "color in where you are working/ porting with a sharpie marker to give it a little contrast, then grind or ream it out you work would show up much better afterwards so we could see it on camera. thanks for sharing, keep on keepin on.
Nice work Harv. Something to keep in mind I personally have not done a 372 but if one was have a set of cases apart it helps to bolt the cylinder to one of the case halves and check and make sure the flow from the case to the transfers are smooth without a sharp lip causing serious turbulence. Just a thought to keep in mind buddy. Love the porting videos
I got some of my logging buddies talked into letting me do some light port work on there saws.i got one I built on job they were impressed.its real screamer but still has torque. Thanks for all the information it's helped me alot.
Harvey, I'm currently trying to do my first port job after watching most of your videos, i have learned a lot from them and its helped me to understand more about 2-strokes. The saw I'm working on is a newer jonsered 2166, i believe its fairly close to a 372 but I havent seen a set up like this and was wondering if you had any advice on how to tackle the transfers. I'm not adjusting the timing at this time but this is the first saw I ever bought and i want to make sure I am doing it right and wont mess it up. I hope all is well and look forward to your newest video
All right Sat 7.55 am raining in NH. Fresh from the rally last night. Good morning. 77 AMC jeep grand wagoner 401 with a 400 turbo rambler bell housing.
It would be cool if that 372 had reed cage on the intake side like that P51 had. Then hog out the other side transfer and take the skirt down on those transfers... yeah it would be nuts! And then to put exhaust on to 100 degrees and what else :D
So in the test is to see if making the primaries larger to get more air/fuel. I questioned when messing around with mine if making them larger would make velocity slower, effectively getting less mixture through it. Very informative, thanks for sharing interested in seeing how this turns out. Wondering if you have ever used cratex style rubber abrasives? Might be something good for that final polish in the exhaust- leaves a really nice finish. If interested in them, let me know and I will send you some to test.- just let me know.
Harvey ,how are you doing . Nice video ,i like the way you teach us. I have a question. Doe you make the skirt of the piston the same shape as the intake you showt here?
Just picked up a echo 500 VL and homelite 330. Thinking I might do a bit of playing around with them and see what monsters form from them hahahahaha. Still couldn't be the beast my echo 8000 is tho
sir......could you take the time out of your bizzy schedual to do a saw say a 272 (they seam to be the the most popular) a port job start to finish all the tools you use all the products and explain why you do what you do so on and so forth i know you have allready been there done that but like a serries that would be neat any way thank you for your time
paused at 12.08 into it and I back 12.30pm down poor. Bad hip sor knee and a brick and stone mason. Thumping around in the dooly 383 with a full jag on her back I was thinking about the aluminum piston you use from time to time. Are they classified as Hypereutectic pistons.
Dish dawn liquid is used for just about everything except washing dishes, with the aching hands my friend learnt if he had less meat for dinner and drank less milk his hands ached much less
Hello good sir! I have a quick question for you or one of the iron horse army. My buddy has a husky 2100 with no brake, will the side cover from a 288xp say fit that 2100 so he can feel safer having a break?
Hi I just discovered your channel. I am interested in porting. Wanted to ask you if it's better to widen the intake port or drop the floor if I have raised my transfer ports and exhaust port by a mm. This is a 400 cc motorcycle. Also is it possible to have too much intake duration for a given rpm range. I was told to drop my intake as far as possible not running out the bottom of the cylinder. I am personally thinking we need to keep velocity high like in an exhaust port. I have only ported one cylinder that is my 400. I am having a pipe made for it also.
Live vidi is better for you. If you do anything right or wrong at lease you did something. The they don't have a Chanel. August hunicky mushed his pitch arm out editing.

Dykem makes a spray metal dye. Could give a spritz, then the shiny spots are where it got the Dremel love.

Blackboard Chalk also helps keep aluminum from galling up the tools. Great video
Super good video learned a lot thank you
Excellent work. Keeping intake surfaces rough helps fuel to atomize better.
Wonder why you mentioned you tend not to wide port opening ?? Thank you
Good morning Harvey from New Hampshire 👍
