Having been an ASME IX TIG welder that has worked all over the world including royal palaces and embassies there is method in your choice. Simply put, you’ve done the right thing, fabricated correctly, the shower tray will outlive us all. 👍👍👍
I was right! Stainless steel is the way. 2 points for me: 1. The up stand lip version so the cladding sits into the tray! Yes yes. 2. Would ask for integrated 40mm waste down pipe in s/s about 3 or 4 inches that a compression water trap will fit to underneath . 100% no internal leaks then.. 😎
As a plumber who fits bathrooms all the time plus builds campers as a hobby the tray with the upstand would be the tray of choice in a new build, before your wall lining is fitted. Great choice of a quality product guys. I agree with the crappy plastic trays, they are flimsy and not cheap either. 👍🏼😉
@@UrbanVanlife Its made me consider the same if I manage to get a crafter or ducato by the end of the year. I'd actually love a shower room in a van. And youre right, what with the tambour door and silver front, your shower room now looks proper posh- though if Mr Cee fits any more lights you might be too blinded to appreciate it.-regards-Kenny
After talking to the guys we found out that they can make them for different kinds of shaped bathrooms . Granted it’s a longer process but it can be done
Very good Neil, I want to get one but I have the truma pipe and a few cables running along the back wall towards the back of the van. Would they be able to create the little ledge or should i maybe box it out before hand... Thanks
Hi,. Bit of the wall Neil, I have Chinese diesel heater fitted in my motorhome, my problem is I can't see the fuel level as the tank is built in the unit, can't get the cover off as it's fitted against the wall and can't get to the screws. When I refill it flows over the cap so constantly got smell of diesel from the spillage. Question to you is it possible to fit larger fuel tank to the door and run a tube into the tank fitted inside the heater, so it becomes like a feeder tank to the heater unit and easier for me to see the fuel tank level and refill. Also any clues for getting the parts and how to do it. Hope you can help ❤️👍 cheers ant
really good job neil and lots of info about where to go just one question why did you not put some sealant strip round the base of the toilet to stop water getting underneath you probably have a good reason just thought i would ask great vlog guys
Well said neil. Only regret will be that you didnt know about them earlier. Some folk are never happy lol. Well done you two. Big outlay but the garuntee is priceless . Also flip flops sorts the other comments lol
@@UrbanVanlife thank you. Appreciate that rapid response. Sorry this happened to you but amazed by the final product. Are you happy with the toilet door on the outside? I still can’t decide whether inside or outside. I would prefer outside but do worry about another hole in the van and getting it right.
To be honest if we could go back to the start again I’d not have a cassett toilet at all . We would get a decent toilet unit that could be totalt taken out which would be good for making the shower a lot bigger as we could take out the toilet when getting s shower .
Would it make any difference if it was . But no no one paid for the video . But curious to why you would ask a question like this when it’s kind of got nothing to do with any one how we run our Buisness . It’s kind of like asking your next door neighbour dose she take it up the rear , it’s really got nothing to do with any one .
Looks absolutely brilliant and what a great idea !! Love the stainless steel look and easy to keep clean it won’t stain like plastic does when you use bleach either !! 🤩 love it 😍 you made it look easy fitting it 🤣 Debs and Mark xx
This is exactly what I’m looking for as I’m a well fed 17st and like things that won’t break. Off the shelf campervans and motorhomes have shockingly poor build quality, build it right and build it once. 👍

What a brilliant solution to the problem that we all have with the plastic shower trays definitely a must have bit of kit 👍 ... p.s both eyes done now so back in action 😉👍 love to you both 😘🤗❤👵🐾🐾🐾🤠 xxxx
What a great product - I love products which at the base are simple but create a great application. The attention to detail on earthing - actually so important if you have mains or even static electric (not such an issue with plastic or resin) - cracking (or not as the case may be and why you would have this) - love it - clever fit too as always, brilliant - every day is a learning day. Out of interest is there a reason you didn’t pop some sealant around the bottom of the toilet - prob a great reason but was curious as instinct would say to do that 🚽 Looks amazing! Heavy duty and very practical. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Cheers bud . The reason I didn’t seal the bottom is if any water was to ever get under then can you imagine the smell after time it would stink . So for that reason I thought just don’t fully seal it
Still going strong, haven’t had any issues at all! We had more issues when we stayed in a lodge over the wedding and we both nearly went flying on the shower room floor in there!
No mate we have not long fitted air suspension to the van so we can lower the back end or just one side of the back end . Making the water go towards the drain hole . Which seemed a better idea
As a keyboard expert and how bad stainless steel is ,Lol 😂l would like to say that you two have done a great job as well as it looks great it should out last you two ❤
I like it but correct me if I'm wrong please... if you earth that tray and you are using an electric hookup mains shower then really any faults and your killed potentially? Charged water from the top of the shower then going onto you then through you to ground and yeah.... I cant see why it needs to be earthed at all tbh? I guess if something mains powered come into contact with the tray then sure but the chances are nil unless you like to run mains cables under your shower tray..... Happy to hear otherwise though.
Yes basically if you serve it with an Earth, it’s guaranteed to become live if there’s a fault. It’s be better (considering humans are a high resistance) to electrically separate so it’s nothing more than a harmless piece of metal. Earthing something doesn’t necessarily make it safe or safer, it can make it far far more dangerous..

Farthing, bonding, grounding ... ( all loosely used to incorrectly define the same purpose). Folks who install 230v AC mains in their vans might run supply wiring incorrectly. Chafing of metal on pvc / rubber insulation can cause wiring faults. Bonding extraneous conductive parts ( wet metal shower tray) is crucial to safety. Unless the reader is a genuinely knowledgable/qualified electrician it would be exhaustive explaining the electrical why's and what for's.
