    I was just browsing UA-cam and your video appeared. I think you did a great job! I'm looking to add a custom rack to my minivan camper. This looks like it could work.

    Can you share the dimensions of the 90 degree bracket and the plastic spacers that hold the 8020 rack on the roof ?

    This is really helpful. Thanks. I am also interested in the rubber piece and angle. Where did those come from? Did you make the rubber bit?

      DIYVan sells them. They're 5°.

    Hello,it is really perfect work 👌
    Thanks for showing us.
    Please how did you connect the 80/20 to the roof??
    Self made adapters or is it possible to buy/order in Europe? Thank you, Jane

    Great video. Do you have a link on where you got the foot mount and the black rubber piece?

    good info but change to stainless steel unless you live south of the rut belt. what about getting rid of buffeting on the solar?

  • @matthewk6731

    Nice work.
    It would be nice if someone would come up with aerodynamic systems that just drop in with glass on the top for the solar. Install your solar, etc., and drop on the top. No rough edges.

    Great but you skipped the most important part - the mounting feet.

    Am I missing something? Or do you not want to give information out on the mounting feet as several commentators has ask?

    What is the difference between the 80/20 and the 20x20?

    • @Groot_G
      @Groot_G 3 роки тому

      He is not using 8020. He is using a square extrusion, so it must be a 2020.

    Very nice, what did you use under the foot mount, black rubber piece. What angle is it? Great job.

      same question here . . . what are those black pieces??

    • @pjpace
      @pjpace 3 роки тому

      The roof slants at 5° where the bolt holes are. So either pucks are needed or the brackets need to be 85°.

    What did you use for the mounting points on the van itself to connect main rail to?

    What I'm wondering after watching this video is have you had any experience in attaching PVC deck planking to your 80/20 channels. I'm purchasing a 30 foot motorcoach and could see your frame as a possible observation deck where my wife and I could set up a couple chairs up there to enjoy the view during our travels. Are you aware of anyone doing this yet?

    Nice work, but I guess the bolts have rusted by now. need to use stainless bolts.

    This is perfect, do you by chance provide the vector file for that roof rack? If not how much do you charge?

    I bought one of those aluminum bars, just 4 feet long, cost me 35 bucks in Amazon, by the time I do the entire project it would cost me way more than just buying a built product, not worth it.

      You could try tnutz. They’re fairly well-priced. Or McMaster-Carr. They usually have free shipping

  • @SydneyMud

    Without showing how and where he got the rubber or glass fibre thing beneath each L brackets, this video is then virtually useless.
