Simple, unpretentious, straight forward, extreme quality music and harmony. When she sings with the fellows, she and they are the best that has ever been. What else can you say?
Love all The Seekers songs as "All over the world", "I'll never find another you" and "Red rubber ball", but "Come the day" got my heart a long time ago to forever!
What a wonderful song this is. The ascending bass scale at the start of the vocal verses really makes the song for me. And how proud Woodley must have been, having a song he wrote be the opener in one of the biggest shows ever. Only in my dreams could I pull off such an accomplishment. I'd still be talking about it 43 years later :-) I have Seeker albums from the 60's but recently discovered them all over again thanks to UA-cam, And I love it !! Thanks for posting !!
Hi . I agree this is a great song, and Bruce was indeed a very good composer and singer. However, this was the opening song of the Seekers that evening, but not of the show itself. As the main attraction, the seekers were put last in a three hour program.
An inspirational performance of a terrific song! I'd not seen the Seekers performing it before this video, but I heard it back in the 60's and it became one of my all-time favorites.
200, 000 at The Seekers show which was about 10% of Melbourne's population 50 years ago. Melbourne in 2018 remains the entertainment capital of the world be it music or sport. "Pink" has about 15 concerts in Melbourne a few years ago too.
+Killyclogher You're absolutely right. I've seen this clip many times but until I read your comment, I hadn't noticed. Yes, she looks a smasher and the dress really suits her.
Their live quality - absolutely amazing! There are loads of bands sounding great on their records, but terrible live. This group sounds maybe even better live than on their records!
A voice as true as a bell.

I can say you are right.

Judith: Voice of an Angel.

I love the old girl and Tigertown also (Richmond),my 2 fav places on Earth.
Judith never looked better than on this occasion. She had slimmed down, and that green dress!

Killyclogher sexy as hell
The green dress. I believe she made that one herself. Judith made a number of clothes herself
Judith is the most beautiful woman singer that ever stepped on a stage. And when she starts to sing, time seems to lose meaning.
WOW, this POME has goosebumps
That must have been AWESOME being there that day.
simply outstanding!
Such an optimistic time
Back when Australia was a free country
Love them.
Thank you.
George Vreeland Hill
Thanks for that - details updated.
Very good as they always are, RWB
Just as good live in 2014!
Their live quality - absolutely amazing!

The is "Come the Day," written by Bruce Woodley.
Wow.
0:39 Bruce Springsteen (cigarette) seems to be ready to enjoy the show......
There nice to meet
Did anyone else notice that Athol forgot to turn his bass on at the start?
He said the size of the crowd was so large he was having heart palpitations.
Clearer video [lovely Judith!] (and tweaked audio), but without the introduction: ua-cam.com/video/pkLculwds9k/v-deo.html
