E1 key only reason ik is because my music teacher has me as a bass because i can hit it
It was a sub harmonic E1
that was an E1 subterranian
Try Misty Mountains with Tim Faust and Peter Hollins. Tim hits a note that vibrates the camera.
Geoff
Geoff: *breathes*
Tara: OMG his voice is so epic
We agree
Paul Quiñones WE AGREE HAHAHA
BREATHES!!!! People of the internet please learn the difference between this word and BREATHS
@@fezzik7619 Dude, chill, english is not my first language, sorry for confusing a verb and a noun that are written almost the same, lmao
@@apaulqr english is weird I don't blame you
agreed!!😂😂
That note at the end was a subharmonic E1. Geoff is a legend :)
Subharmonics are almost his speciality, listen to enough of their stuff and it gets you everytime
Another E1 (I think) from Tim Foust at the end of this, and I think it's right up Tara's alley, with depth, range, harmony and skill: ua-cam.com/video/yb2HR47npEU/v-deo.html
ljfinger it’s a G#1
@@MatteoBlooner You're right...I was remembering the E1 in "Do You Hear What I Hear" by Home Free. Thanks for the correction.
i love that voice i cant even.....urgh!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how she just keeps getting more surprised by him considering all three of the bass trio have burst speakers by how low they can go.
Can’t help it! he’s amazing!!
Is the trio Avi, Tim, and Geoff?
It doesn’t hurt AT ALL Geoff’s longish hair and that he is REALLY cute.
@@chrisclarke754 I would assume so
also if you think about it your voice is deeper to you than it is to others, so i can only wonder what he hears
He hits an E1 in the sub-harmonic range. His lowest is an A0 which is below piano/keyboard range. An epic voice.
it's actually the lowest note you can hit on a piano but still impressive now the less
Wait where did he hit the A0 I need to hear
In another song@@surzeekanimations
3 years later, now the basement is Bb0
@@Bluebongoswhich one?
Laughing the entire video "it's so impressive how low he can get" and just waiting until the end reaction
Zeno Seraph that was literally me lmao. I was just like, “oh wait, there’s more!”
ikr
BRUH SAME HAHAHA
I do that with every reaction I watch
SO WAS I
screw the high notes, I'll take knee weakening, butter melting, growling notes! Love Geoff
Saaaaaame as someone who is a soprano and knows many of them I'll take a deep growly bass any day.
I'm with you ladies! Give me that gut feeling, core melting base over a higher register any day and I'm yours! lol
Yes!!!!
That wasn't a growl note. It was subharmonic.
As my friend said, "It's making my ovaries vibrate!"
Geoff: *deepness*
Tara: *gets flusterd*
We feel you, Tara, we feel you
She didn't react but that little bass run at 1:36 is amazing
Hard to reach to everything, he’s amazing!!
@@Tarasimonstudios Absolutely, it was kinda quiet and I didn't notice anyone in the comments point it out so I thought I would. Love your content Tara, thanks for the reply.
@@Tarasimonstudios
You caught enough. 😋😋😋😋😋
Daniel Allen no one really notices it although I wish they did
I thought I was the only one who caught that higher subharmonic little riff there... crazy hard to do
The notes are badass, yeah: but can we have a moment to talk about their costumes/makeup? whoever did it did a really good job!
This isn't really my thing, but I've got to say I'm well impressed with this performance and how well everything goes together. The acting, the costuming, the singing... It's really fun to watch
Too many things were missed due to you being TOO busy talking. You missed the snakes coming out of his mouth…You missed several of the really good notes because you were talking. You missed some of the wording, some of the facial expressions of the other guys. I totally love Geoff, but this is more than one person singing. And they are all VERY good. You really need to go back and watch it again, without comment (just for you).
The one thing I love about VP is that they go all in. Costume, make up, set, character voices, lighting and they all get into character for the video. It's like watching a clip from a musical.
@@georgene6767 I noticed that too.
legend has it tara had a child 9 months after watching this
ha ha ha
i believe it was conceived around the 1:05 mark
xbubbahotep lol. It looks somewhat inappropriate
Yurp

Her reaction is priceless! I've re-watched this from the 3:00 minute mark until the end of the song at least 50 times. Love it.
I'm sad she missed the little riff that Geoff did after "To add a little spice". Please react to more of Voiceplay!!!! Especially Queen where Geoff is awesome again.
Yes! Ok!!
Tara Simon Studios he hit a Eb1 on that riff it was amazing
she didn't react cuz she was talking through the entire thing........hard to catch stuff.....oh well.....
Ken Levigne noticed it in his reaction to the song :)
To be fair, I had to listen to it a couple of times to really make out that 6 note riff. I saw him doing something in the background and it sounded so natural that it's easy to miss.
Voice Play: Daddy Sings Bass
Yes, yes,yes,yes,yes. Please.
Yessss, just commented the same! ua-cam.com/video/5bHnzBmwpzg/v-deo.html
Yes yes yes please
If I'm not mistaken. The last note in Daddy Sang Bass was a Subharmonic D1 or B1
Yessss!!!! Love that cover
I sang Southern Gospel quartet professionally for over 10 years and I can't get close to that last note. I only knew 2 or 3 who could even approach it. Phenomenal!!! I've heard he has a 5 octive range?
Yes he does, his highest note is an A5 in his falsetto and his lowest is either a C#0 or an A0 in subharmonics/fry
This Guy sings
Tara:“ i wanna go that low, this guy makes me wanna go low“ :D
Lol! Can't help it!
E1 💀 it’s an E1 Tara. AN FRICKEN E1 😭😭😭

Yes. Omg i love Sold!!!
THANK YOU FOR REACTING!!! Geoff has an amazing voice
I love watching you react to Geoff's low notes because I find them to be insane as well. Thanks for doing this for us and keep up the great reaction work. You are the most enjoyable.
Awee. Thank you 🙏❤️
1:15 "it like gets in me" this is why i envy bass singers.
Same
I'm dead its sound like...you know...p.o.r.n
Thank you, but it's not always great to be a bass singer. I'm a bass and I've always envied those that can sing high notes. Sure, bass is a rarer voice type, but that doesn't compensate for the fact that I can't sing 90% of pop songs nowadays without going one to two octave lower, perhaps failing to sing even then.
@@bestusernameever6518 true, but when girls listen to guys singing, they swoon for the lower voices, I know this from being a high tenor
@@bestusernameever6518 i am a baritone so im stuck in the middle lol
1:15 “it gets in me” I think she’s in love 😂😂😂
Love the visual for the last note too, the sorta low subharmonic matched with such a dark, evil tonality when paired with his posture and how he seemed to be drawing from the depths of something in the way he stood and held his hands
I discovered Geoff last year and he's now my favorite singer
Exactly the reaction I was hoping to see, both to the song and Geoff as the lead! That was a solid subharmonic E1 (and Geoff is so good at subharmonics it's sickening!), and he peaks in this song at a (edit: B4... off by an octave) truly impressive. Their storytelling and videography are on-point, too. When you get some time, take a watch/listen to their "Queen in 5 Minutes" medley or - if you want some more Geoff Lead - "Daddy Sang Bass."
Ryan Moody i agree so much
that's a B4... really high note even for a tenor, but for Geoff it's insane
B4
B4- E1 in 10 seconds
In his video "how to sing low" he said that he didn't know if women can do the subharmonic technique, it would be great if you try out.
I have so enjoyed all of Geoff and Voice Play!
YESSSSS, THANKS SO MUCH FOR REACTING!
I’m pretty sure the last note was an E1, which is crazy. Geoff is crazy impressive especially with his range. If you would like another VoicePlay suggestion, I would suggest panic in 4 minutes and Queen in 5 minutes. Both of which showcase their abilities as a group, and also some Geoff attention (as we are all happy for).

Yes panic
Wow, yup I second this recommendation! Also, side-note, these guys are hilarious! 😂
I agree, but i would also recommend trapped as it has a really intresting arrangement
Panic is nuts
rafortnite 777 when did he do that
When Geoff hits those subsonic and low growl notes you cannot help but be awe struck. His range is supernatural!
I love these guys...its always a pure joy to listen to them singing.
Love your reaction, one of my favorite songs. It’s entertaining to watch and listen to. Thank you!
I really really love Geoff's voice. He is usually compared to Tim and Avi but i think he has the better voice out of them. His singing just sounds smoother compared to the others.
It's the lowest E on my keyboard (45 keys).
Geoff is constantly compared to Avi and Tim Foust and they're all insanely good.
Oh and also can you react to PTX’s live performance of Can’t Sleep Love at Popspring 2016? It was amazingg

I adore your technical evaluations of what's happening in these videos. They explain the *reasons* WHY I love what I'm hearing. I am an acappella addict and you are an 'enabler'. Your passing reference to Citizen Queen just got me hooked on another group
I think this is the most excited I've seen you get in a reaction. ^_^ Makes me appreciate even more how impressive Voiceplay's performance here was, and Geoff's in particular. I've really come to respect your knowledge and expertise, watching these, so the fact they made you go wow is great to see. ^_^ I always find your reactions to these so insightful and they enrich my experience of the songs for me every time I listen to them again afterwards. Thanks!
I knew you'd have a reaction like that to Geoff's final note. I love your analysis and complete shock of it too. Enjoy all the Voiceplay you listen to, they're really good!
VoicePlay is new favorite of mine!!! Geoff is AMAZING! :D love your reactions!
100% agree! Love to hear a bass singer featured! Geoff' voice is incredible!
The rest: Hitting high notes perfectly
Geoff: Goes lower than c4
...
Tara: I wish I could go that low
You should react to their version of “Grin Griming Ghost” it’s another one of their covers where Geoff gets to show off his range
You should hear Sold! by Home Free. Tim goes even lower than Geoff here.
Tim's lows note in Sold! Is an A0 I believe
@@jimmygammon2352 you believe correct. When i first heard it i thought the mix was off... Nope, Tim is just a beast.
Janus Quirinius its an A1
@@scraggyboi the low note we are referring to is in fact an A0
@@BigHossPlayz Tim sings an A1. The A0 is from Adam's throat bass.
His voice is sooooo crazy! I really liked the composition in the video (also from the other singers), great song, very catchy melody as well. Thank you so much for doing this reaction video, Tara! If you enjoyed him, it would be soooo awesome if you could react to his "Sixteen tons", that's also a very cool one!
That high note from that bass. That's the top of my 1st-tenor range. Unreal.
I loved your reaction to that last note!
Your face when he did that subharmonic E1 was just amazing! You were expecting an E2 and was like "yeah" and then "what the actual f?!" Love your reaction videos :D
Voiceplay is awesome! I love Geoff so much!
Thanks know House you feel about his low voice, I love it too. He’s probably my top 3 most favorite singers. It’s also cool how he sing a background part when the other singers sing the main part instead of taking a break.
Finally...I was waiting for this reaction since the release
🙌🏻❤️😊
I was always the one who loved listening to Shere Khan sing the last line of _That's What Friends Are For_ in _The Jungle Book_ and hearing the C2, but listening to Geoff hit that Subharmonic E1 was so much better.
glorious darling.. beautiful reaction!! you wanna follow these guys and their solos ... you really do .. Much love, saty safe dear ♥
Indeed! Subharmonic E1 is just mindblowing.
voiceplay they tend to all share the lime light in their music
Still trying to figure out that strange sound Geoff makes at 1:37 after "a little spice"...
WoefulMinion That’s Subharmonics as well, he’s just going down in pitch so it sounds SUPER out of place and maybe like synths
@WoefulMinion I used software to listen to this bass run an octave higher and slowed down. I believe that this is the progression that Geoff sings:
They are singing in the key of Db (or C#) Using Db here, his notes are: Db, B, Ab, Gb, E, Db, Ab with the second to last note being Db1.
Or the run is 1, flat 7, 5, 4, flat 3, 1, then back up to the 5.
During the entire run he uses subharmonics as explained in his own subharmonics tutorial video.
@@mitchandbridgette Thank you!
THAT E1 THOUGH
I will forever be more impressed with hella low vs hella high!!!!
It’s great to me both times you’ve reacted to these guys you can’t help but dance
Geoff's voice is crazy. Even when he's in a low octave very few singers can reach, he'll drop another full octave. I think the lowest I've heard him reach was C1. Dude keeps practicing he might hit a negative.
0:27 tara and geoff are the same 0:34
Wooooooohhh
Wooooooooohhhh
Lmao
Nice reaction, beautiful!
Honestly your passion is so infectious 😂 your reaction to that super low note was so funny, never seen you so shocked
I keep replaying 3:06
Her reaction to Geoff being Geoff is adorable
Anyone else want to see her do a series of Voiceplay reaction videos?
Geoff is certainly special. It is great to see bassist featured. Geoff has some of his own stuff that is pretty great as well. 16 Tons and Headless Horesman are really fun. VoicePlay does their own version of The Grinch, too, and it is a lot of fun.
I think you're the only channel that talked about the other singers involved, awesome.
"Split personality singing" I'm gonna use that now
You should check out the "Lost on You" cover by Scott Hoying and Mario Jose
Tara, you are totally fan girling right now and I'm loving it!!!!
the harmonies in this is really good they also did this is Halloween from the same movie
I just discovered this today, Geoff is the closest to my voice that I’ve ever heard. I can actually sing as low as he can. I was thrilled to hear this. I just wish I was as good as him. And I can’t seem nearly as high as him, I’m working on it. I love doing this song at karaoke, and Bare Necessities. That seems to be my voice range.
Geoff, Avi and Tim Foust. 3 best names for not just bass, but over all range.
This is the exact same reaction I had when I first saw this, his voice is insane
Geoff just released a video on 'how to sing low' - he talks about getting those subharmonic pitches. Fascinating!
PLEASE Tara, react to Shoshana Bean - She Used to Be Mine.
You need it in your life as much as we do.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee
Yea i love them Layne is my favorite out of the group he is a beast with the bass
Geoff's range is absolutely nuts!! That subharmonic at the end is just mind blowing!
I wonder what Tara would do if she heard Tim Foust's A0 in Sold
it's actually an A1
No A1 is a lot higher than what Tim’s lowest note can be that’s an A0 but he has had a lower note but I can’t recall what it’s in
James Faircloth he kinda proved it live that that it was an A1
Scraggs he doesn’t hit the a0 live so it is an a1, but the studio version is an a0, which is insanely hard to hit live
@@scraggyboi definitely wasn't an A1 in the studio. It was an A1 live but the live performance and studio recording are two different things.
"I gotta listen to that ending note one last time"
Me thinks that won't be the last time she goes to hear it again and again, over and over, turned up, bass up full...
Tara's reactions is me throughout the whole video no matter how many times I break the repeat button for this song xD
I love pretty much anything bass forward
I’ve heard pipe organs make sounds like that, not human beings. He’s amazing!
he has a very powerful low tone look up white Christmas by voiceplay that low is so powerful.
Tim is right down there with Geoff the last note of Folsom Prison Blues! I really like them both and Love Geoff's voice in The Headless Horseman.
Geoff and Tim Foust are amazing and their range is insanity! Geoff is a rock star.
Tim Storms lowest note "00A"
If you want a really good display of all the members vocals you should react to their queen medley
Seeing the videos where vocal coaches listen to good bass vocalists really drives home how hard it is of bass vocalists to learn. Most of us have to teach ourselves.
Yes! Thank you! I'm a low bass and it's so true, I've always tried looking for songs that can show my range but it's so hard! So yes! I agree!!
I highly suggest you react to Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair by Peter Holens and Avi Kaplan. Avi's low part is heaven.
let's hit her up with Avi vs Geoff vs Tim to react to. She would just love it!
Best reaction on the internet 💕
This is really good he looks just like the guy that has long hair in the band Home Free if you didn't know better you would think it's him they even have the same voice very interesting it's good
Don’t feel bad, tara. I can’t sing any lower either.
If there's one thing you need to know about Geoff, it's that he's the master of Subharmonics
Matthew Grant yes he is. He is so good at them. I wonder how low he could go using subharmonics, probably close to the 0 octave
Ever heard Avi Kaplan? I love Geoff. But like. Avi is the best.
Jonathan Stewart I agree, Avi is amazing. I would give the edge to Avi over to Geoff, just sounds smoother and better
Jonathan Stewart nah definitely tim foust, he can reach into the 0th octave
Home Free another amazing group. Tim is amazing
Every freeze frame of Tara looks like a model pose. Even the friggin' "scream"-like expression when Geoff hits that low E at the end.
How does Geoff disguise his mix? His higher notes, especially the Bb4, seems like chest during the first listen but it sounds more and more like a very well placed mix, not too heady and nasal but without all the weight of his extreme low register, BUT still maintaining the typical fullness and thickness of a bass voice. Well done.
Please react to voiceplays 5 mins queen medleyyy!!!!!!
Beautiful subharmonic register at the end. Geoff is a huge inspiration as a bass.
Powerful voice
