UPDATE: The resolution of the texture is now 2k, the alignment is better and finally, you don't need the converter, the texture is supplied in the archive that you download from the app.

at 00:50 you switch from whole body to only the face. and when I press track active frame after promoting the frame, the window turn grey and the character disappear.
just do a screen rec of the whole process with as less cut as possible

we bought the year subscription for the classroom, we are thinking of getting more but the process is not 100% clear, the tutorial goes really fast over the details so it was easy to miss steps or get a really tiny model, or not know exactly what your were clicking, at each steps it seemed things just happened but easy to copy for a newby, we hope to be able to use this product in engine if possible.

Unwraps they texture extactly like methumans obj?
I try to upload my texture but it doesn’t match the UV and I have black areas unaligning with the baked texture.
When I try this with the same head texture it just puts the next head on the main one looks crazy

Not sure if i am missing something.. not sure how avaturn is part of the workflow.. it seems it is not. I also checked metahuman but it seems the project is in beta/early access and need to sign up as a company
This did not work for me. Metahuman creator cant track frame with the model from the app. Can you help? Otherwise kinda just wasted money on this app.
Sometimes the program closes itself after the scan is finished and there is only zip file in export option?

hey, thanks for the tutorial. I figured out how to export it as an animation. Also, the playback of the new texture provided seems to have a line on the top eye lid when my characters blinks. I would really appreciate it if u could give some tips to fix the issue.
You can fix the line in photoshop, it's not possible to fix this automatically

i didnt use in3d but i've tried to add the base texture to the face of the new metahuman from the original mesh head but the texture shows up small in the middle of the new characters face. how do i fit the texture on the new metahuman properly?
I have the same issue, in3dIO seems to unwrap the texture precisely like metehumans does.
I sculpted mine and unwrapped it myself so that means I would have to match my unwrap UVs to that off metahumans uv
We might need photoshop for this. Or… try to UV unwrap exactly like metahumans UVs

And I was using artbreeder face to sculpt a female. Either way it doesn’t even match her look, I’m avoiding to do all the hard work and just sculp and rig from scratch but I know it will take a good dedicated month to do that
Unless your UV maps for your In3D app and Metahuman head exactly correspond (which is clearly not the case in this example), you'll still have this terrible texture mismatch, especially around the eyes, lips, ears ... I see no reason to prefer this approximation over a good customization of the Metahuman textures inside the MH web app itself. You seem to imply that in a future release of in3D, the head UV maps may correspond. That would be nice.
in3D UV map is different from Metahumans and we created a special service that can produce Metahuman's UV using our avatars. It's located at in3d.io/metahuman and we show how to use it at 1:40

@@avaturn appreciate the work done. However. The meta human skin of far superior. The one thing this does is corrects the skin color.. but if you mess around in metahuman creator you can get it .. and it will look far superior. Don’t get me wrong it looks good. But not great
@@Instant_Nerf Well, since they got the UV maps right, you can mix and match the 2 textures to your liking.

What about the specular, roughness, normals... ? They won't match your albedo
That's true, but it turns out that even with fake normals and specular the metahuman looks more recognizable. We are working on predicting specular and normal map as well though.
It's not avaluable for my phone :(

Hello! No LIDAR doesn't play a role here. But 13 pro definitely has a great camera and should produce great results.
I have no idea how to do anything in unreal engine. I have been trying to do your method even before i found your video but i dont have the metahuman plugin in UE5, neither i know how to fix it.
go to edit menu > plugins and look for metahuman

@@avaturn When i press Track Active Frame after promote frame in UE, the fbx disappear. only a grey square. And for some reason it wored one day and placed the tracker. I then press on MetaHuman Identity Solve and i had this error code:

Why did u make so many cuts in this video? It super hard to follow along. We can't tell what you are clicking on and how you are getting this to work. Please redo this whole video and show us step by step. Don't assume we know cause we dont!!

Great app but very terrible explanation. Because of showing the process easy and short, you skipped a lot of parts. To make a full video takes just 1-2 hours for you and it would be helpful for both your exist customers and potentials.
