You Really NEED to Change These DJI Fly App Settings

- Have you ever thought, "Should I change these DJI Fly App settings," but wasn't really sure what would happen? Well I did and you won't believe how it changed our DJI Mini 2 (Jack).
Recently we released a couple of videos about the DJI Mini 2 drone's pause button and those videos resulted in some really good comments and questions from our viewers. We are hoping this video will put the "Pause button" dilemma to rest and we can move on to other topics, but who knows? This may just be the beginning of more pause button videos (let's hope not). Anyway, we made some changes to the DJI Fly App settings hoping to be able to "mimic" the actions of the pause button. Stick around and find out if we were successful, or if this whole test ended up a catastrophe.

Awesome, Thank you for sharing this. I have had the DJI Mini 2 SE for about 2 weeks. I love it.
Oh cool!!! These Mini 2 drones are amazing and the SE version is no slouch. You’re gonna have a blast with that little sucker. One of the biggest things I learned (pretty much right away) was just to trust the drone and have the confidence in it to do what it’s supposed to. We’ve done a lot of videos inducing problems and the drones always seem to still work things out. I’ve wanted to upgrade to the mini 3 pro ever since it came out but I’m honestly glad we stuck with the Mini 2 for as long as we have. Keep us updated on stuff you’ve learned and figured out, brother. God bless! Kevin
Giddy up! Funny, it makes you a better pilot. If you can be calm and smooth maxed out in S, when you switch back to the default N setting you feel like everything is in slow motion and hyper manageable. I realize it may make some a bit anxious but it will reduce flight anxiety over time….bonus is….it’s fun! Just to help you feel better too, all settings can be reset to default. Also, DJI keeps the drone well within its control envelope even with your own homer all maxed out! Have fun! Great video as always Mr Roberts and thanks for the shout out, that made my day 😀❤️
hahaha!!! yea, I agree it's a lot of fun flying that quick and fast for sure. I swear there's still so much more to these little drones that I haven't figured out yet. And I've had them for over 3 years (I think) lol . I'm going to keep these settings and get better no matter how long it takes.. hahaha... I couldn't believe what a difference those settings made. I've flown him a couple times since this in Sport mode with these settings and I'm still just as bad controlling him... lol I'm gonna keep these settings for a while though and see if it helps me get better... I don't know why I never thought of this myself.

Oh cool. I bet that Avata is awesome, man. I couldn’t believe what a difference these settings made with the Mini 2. I ended up killing 2 more batteries after I was done with this demo. Lol. I think I’m gonna keep these settings in sport mode. I can’t wait to try it with the newer fly app. I wonder if it’ll be even better.

Oh wow that's awesome! I am so ready to just take off on a 6 month camping trip and fly the drone everywhere we go, man. I got a year to go and I'll be able to retire then we can make that happen. I think Kristi is even ready... haha How's the camping going so far?

Great test brother 👍 Just remember that flying in sports mode at that altitude isn’t as fast as flying above 10m. I did that test a couple of years ago. 😊

Lol. Speed kills!!!! Isn’t there a public service announcement about that? This was a lot of fun and I ended up going through a couple more batteries with these settings after this video was finished. Speed almost killed. Haha

@@WeretheRoberts We’ll be there for the 1st two weeks of September. We live near the Bristol Motor Speedway, so you pass close to us on your way to and from WV.
Ah that's right! I forgot... lol duh. We take 77 up through Charlotte and stay on 77 until we get to Parkersburg, WV. Do you go to any of the races? We live about 45 minutes from Daytona but we haven't ever gone to a race. I've been on the track though and it was awesome! I'd love to take the camper there for a week in the infield during a race week. That would be amazing!
@@WeretheRoberts We live about 10 minutes from the track , I can see it from the back of my property. Can’t quite fly the Mini 2 that far though. Its not as packed as it used to be for races. Used to be over 100,000 people there. Still gets busy around here when it’s race weekend. If you are ever around our area give me a shout and maybe we can fly some. A lot of great scenery here.
Oh wow. How loud is it on race days? Lol. I guess you can’t complain about the noise right? It’s like someone buying a house by the airport then complaining about the planes. Hahaha. Oh trust me… when we come up to that area I’ll be in touch. We could have some fun flying

These "tests" or whatever they're classified as are pretty much pointless but they sure are fun! lol I say go for it!!!

Heck yea! These settings have really made Jack a lot quicker and more agile. But it also made it a lot easier to crash (like I need any help with that lol)... I'm not sure if the props were louder or not because my hearing is going (just like yours apparenlty hahaha).... Nice vid! You should do a wind test of sorts from different angles to see how much it effects the drone. Not sure how many box fans you have access to lol
Awesome comment! Thanks so much for watching and for the test idea. We've done a couple "wind" tests in the past with high winds and even one right after a tropical storm passed by, but they weren't very controlled test if you ask me.. lol I used to have one of those wind meter things but I think it broke. Wonder if I could get my hands on another one and know exactly what the wind speeds are during this type of test. I have a pretty good leaf blower... hahaha Great test idea, buddy! Hahaha. So is a trestle a food? I forget what we were even talking about. Those spiders and bees were vicious, and then the goose poop made its appearance. What a day. Lol. But man, those settings were a blast!

I have no idea if that's true or not but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be any harder on the motors than him fighting like he did this time, eh? I think maybe the people that said that are the same people who predict the weather. hahaha

how can you install an older version of dji fly? i recently went on and flew my mavic mini for the first time in years and the new dji fly app basicly removed sport mode and everything... other features i used to have now i had to pay for...? If i can go back like yours i could actuallly have fun again
Dang that really sucks. It sounds like they’re trying to phase the Original Mavic Mini out like apple does with the iPhones doesn’t it? I do know you can only roll back fly app versions on androids but I don’t know exactly how. GavinHR is a great resource channel for this type of question though. He has a list of the roll back versions listed on most of his video descriptions and he may even have a video with how to roll back versions in the title that you could find pretty easy. I’ll check his channel real quick and try to get back with you with a link.

Jack won't be able to play nice getting footage with those "hot" settings. But, the bigger concern is those settings with this guy -> **8:55**. So, when you crash you may hear something like this after giving your explanation -> **5:56**. 😏Have a wonderful day. I gotta agree, brother. Got some sad news though. We had to let her go yesterday. She had a lot of medical issues going on and started having a really hard time so we didn’t want her to suffer anymore. She turned 16 in July and she had a great life. We will miss that little booger but she’s with her big sister now. I wanted to let you know as you’re one of the only few who appreciated Lacie’s antics. Lol. Perdy little fat kitty. I am so sorry to read of your very sad news.
And I know from personal experience how much this will continue to hurt. But I can and do understand that you have had to do this. Tough Love is tough.
As and when you think of; and miss her (as inevitably you will), in time you will be able to think upon the good memories you had together, and be so thankful for those times.
My best mate of my last six years in NZ was a pussycat. The bond we had was very Special. My last six weeks there he slept on my bed Every night; not just most nights. He knew I was going. Sadly after I'd gone his care and life went downhill badly, and all I know is that he was 'removed' from his home and environment. That's been one of the hardest things I've had to (and even now since January 2008!) and still do 'process'. We can truly be thankful for the friends God brings into our lives, as I know Lacie has been to you two.
