Man I have really enjoyed this trip a lot. I watch everynight with dinner while smoking a J. I live in the Pisgah National Forest in Western North Carolina. Always wanted to do a trip like this. I have a travel trailer, but looking to switch up to a truck camper this spring. Really inspiring and artistic channel. Thanks Timmy.
Hey Truthseeker! Grew up spending Summer's in a small town, Highlands, N.C. & used to go to Toxaway Falls (Which I can't get to anymore as area is developed with Country Clubs etc in that area but it is so beautiful where I live. We came from South Florida so it was a big change. Anyways, we went RVing during Vivid & it was super cool. The only thing it would be much better in a truck getting better mileage as it does get expensive. Never made it to Alaska - it's on our bucket list still. The younger I go the better. Whatever u decide to do, it is well worth it & enjoyable. The one thing I wish I had documented the trip on UA-cam. Take it easy! 😊😊😊😊
Get an Espar coolant heater for those cold starts with no where to plug in. Plumbs into your coolant lines and pushes hot coolant through your system for up to 120 minutes, you can schedule auto starts to come on at whatever time you want so you wake up to a warm truck. Uses diesel from your tank to run
She’s a great old girl. There’s so much more life in her I’m sure you will do everything possible to keep her alive for as long as possible. Great trip Timmie.
You are keeping it in check man. A nice modest homestead and a rocken 7.3 home on wheels that's perfection. You take care of the old rig and takes care of you... (even cycling those plugs why not)... Stay safe man keep exploring.
You made it Timmy. Glad your home. I haven't been watching for probly 6 months. Just been too busy. I'm back tho. Thank heavens. Thank you for taking us along. Your awesome and blessed. 🏔️
I've done this drive in my 96 F250 7.3 with a camper and 6x8 enclosed trailer. I loved that trip and your videos are making me want to hit the road again.
I live in Michigan but visited with my son who lives in Seward for a few weeks for Thanksgiving and we drove around Whittier and Girdwood, and I remember seeing your home. Now I stumbled upon your video and seeing it again. What a small world. I love everything about Alaska. I see why my son and people like yourself live there. Thank you for taking us along your journeys
Fantasitc. Thanks for taking us along. I drove the ALCAN (Los Angeles, CA to Fairbanks/Denali and back a little over 40 years ago. At the time, most of the ALCAN was stone and it was May/June. Although your route was different (close enough) doing it in the winter and alone is a whole different thing. At the time (still hard to belive), Canadian Customs/MP strongly encouraged bringing a rifle on the ALCAN. How times have changed. We had to show them our route, count our money and completely unload our truck to show them we were prepared. My buddy bought an almost new Toyota 4WD for the trip. I bought all of the supplies, including anything we could possibly think of - tires, gas cans, alternator, voltage regluator, battery, headlights, etc. We had just enough room for one of us to sleep in the bed under the cap, the other slept in the cab. Great memories. I used Google Maps to follow along your trip. Really fun! When I drove the ALCAN, there were several sections that had 75-150 (IIRR) miles between gas stations/villages. I think the villages were really "outposts" setup to maintain the highway. Glad you made it home and hope you have a wonderful 2023. Thanks again.
Glad you made it home safe and sound bro! Found your channel partway into you adventure(s) and have thoroughly enjoyed each and ever moment and have even managed to see a few vids prior to your journey to the lower 48. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you and excited to continue with you on your life’s journey. As always, stay safe out there…..
Yeah Northern British Columbia and gas prices ain't no joke... I drive a 4 cylinder four-wheel drive Tacoma.. because eight bucks a gallon hurts my feelings
Great journey home, loved it. Now, install a third fuel tank since you pushed the range a little to the edge 😵💫, install air lockers for next season in Utah and Colorado, and keep on trucking. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for this winter, I’m sure it will be epic.
I think you got hacked? Got a notice that I was selected to receive a free prize which seemed strange. Contact email was similar to your merchandise email address but with an extra period inserted. It also went away which was strange.
That is so cool that you have parakeets. I love them too. I had 8 birds, but now I only have 3 left, as 5 of them died over the course of 10 years. Great trip north homeward bound! Glad that you made it safely. 👍👍
When I lived in Bethel, i used a oil heating dp stick, a battery blanket and was still worried if the van would start...lol. although I did drive for over 6 months without a water pump.
Love your videos! Do you use a full synthetic oil for the winter? I know from personal experience this made a big difference for my 2000 Dodge 2500 Diesel. I cost extra but worth it. Take care.
I drove it alone in 1974, not paved then from Dawson to Tok. It was -35 when I stopped in Watson Lake to get gas, 40 gallons later the temp was -46 on the same thermometer. First time I saw the Northern Lights, about an hour after that. Gosh it was cold.
Your a humble man and I would love to drive to Alaska and hangout with you! I’ve never been simply because I don’t know if I’ll ever leave. Thank you for sharing all you do.
Wow...brought back so many memories of MY epic trip from So. Cal. to Alaska waaay back in 1979! My good ol' Jeep J-10 4x4 truck with just a camper shell and one of my buddies along with me! It was in Sept. though so the weather was a bit nicer! 😄 Went all the way up to Circle and then down to Kenai Peninsula. Returned home on the Cassiar Hwy. which at that time was even worse than the Alcan Hwy! Just over a month and almost 9k miles total! Gotta find the slides of our trip (yeah, long before digital cameras!). Great video, great adventure! Thanks for sharing that...
About being happy alone, Amen, brother. I did two, one year backpacking trips in Europe and Australia and was never happier in my life. Of course, I met many people on my travels and enjoyed their company. I don't consider myself a loner, but I'm very comfortable being alone.
Awesome Timmy! Welcome home! What a great trip! Without a doubt one of the best feelings there is after a long road trip. Long time follower and driver of the Alaskan Hwy, Dalton Hwy. and Top of the World Hwy. also from Landis, NC Looking forward to seeing what's next.
I remember cold starts at a weld shop I worked at...pulled it in one night and when 1st shift started early I had to remove from shop and smoked them out 😂! Love the old 7.3
You mentioned that the truck had been warming up for 20mins and is still frigid. I found in my '97 that I can idle it all day long in cold weather and it never warms up. It doesn't run like a gas engine and uses much less fuel at idle. With so much oil and water in these motors, it takes forever to heatup even at full sing up hill in cold weather.
It’s beautiful every where u go man , I’ve always wanted to live in a snowy place my frien I love the peacefulness snow brings , I’m South Carolina we get good snow every few yrs but man I could live in it all the time , it’s just a beautiful parsipitation nature gives us , take care as I catch up on ya vids
Glad you made it safe and sound... Not near as adventurous as last years drive... Looking forward to the new adventures this winter.. Last year's video of the northern lights at the Alaska Festival... Favorite so far...
What an awesome road trip. I have always wanted to travel the US but am chicken to go alone. I got to travel this journey virtually with you. Thanks for sharing that long journey with us Timmy.
Well...that was a super fun vacay. I was there at 6 mile when you left and watched the whole thing from start to end...great to be on the journey. A bit jealous but good affirmation on why I stay in Alaska...even a bit emotional to see you come home safe. Thanks Timmy, that was fun.
Hell Tim I’d say this run was even better than the last, stoked for the real adventure back in Alaska this season and that grouse video u mentioned some months back in the premier comments keep up the good work

Beautiful
Everything you said at the start of this video is exactly how I feel. I'm so thankful I found this channel, and your videos.
Been amazing 🤙🏼, can't wait for what's next 🤟🏼, from San Antonio Texas 🤟🏼
I love your cabin. I want to build one on a little trailer for us. Family of 6 lol

Thank you:)
I went skiing on Alyeska back in the late 80's while stationed in AK. Coldest I'd ever been!
It takes all kinds my dude. I was once a city guy, but I live on 12 acres now and love it. When it’s really cold, my diesel doesn’t shut off
Thanks for the ride and welcome home.
GLAD you are home Timmy!

right on!
The USCG used to manage a old LORAN (old navegation system used before GPS) station in TOK....
