I had this type of bread/buns in Chengdu last year, and when searching for a brown sugar bread recipe this was the only I found that looked similar to what I had in Chengdu. So I made these buns last night, and they did not only look like the ones in Chengdu, they also tasted similar! Thank you so much!!! 🙂
I always want to make bun for my family but failed many times🤣 I enjoy watching how you make the bread dough. It looks so relaxing. The sugar bun looks good and soft. Looks better than the shops👍
❤looks good. May I confirm how much flour you used please? Also why did you choose to knead the brown sugar into the dough instead of mixing with the water
@@owodunnimaryam2700 The flour is 300g. There is also a full ingredients list under of the video. Small amount of sugar in water at the beginning can help the yeast to wake up. However, there is a lot of sugar in the recipe. The sugar will take away the water in the dough before the yeast. So putting all the brown sugar in water will suppress the yeast to rise. That's why we add sugar when the dough is already raised. 😊 Here is the ingredient list. 300g all purpose flour 180g-200g water 3g yeast 90g brown sugar 10g sugar 1/2 tsp baking soda (2g) 1/4 tsp baking powder (1g) 1/8 tsp salt (0.5g)
