I was just about to bring my Zizzo mini to the local Bike Barn to adjust the front brakes then I stumbled into this instructional video . 10 minutes later, I successfully fixed the brakes. You just helped me save some time and $ . Thank You !
Excellent video. Thank you. Most bike videos rush past the things that they think are obvious, but as a beginner I need every last little detail explained. And really slowly. You did this perfectly. And the close ups were especially important for helping the understanding.
Thank you! As a recently single mom, I've never tried fixing the bikes before, but my son's front brakes weren't working at all. Fifteen minutes later and- ka-pow! Score one for the dad-mom. It was fun, I kind of want to take out all the bikes now and check their brakes. By now I mean later.
Great video. The brake pads were rubbing on the wheel rim, and the small adjustment that was described on the NorthrockBikes video worked! Great overall video, showing other bike adjustments that I thought were valuable. Great job !!
The manufacturers instructions are horrible! Thank you for this video. I just bought my twin girls new bikes and no matter how much I poured over the manufacturer’s instructions it didn’t give me the information I needed to be able to do this... thank you!!!
At last....thank you thank you...some explain all the crap so easy.....way to go! Keep it simple always...do you have one for front and rear derailleurs..?????
I don't know why i didn't searched this before! I've always had the spacing wrong on all my bikes, with some even touching while not engaging the brakes (straight from factory)
To bad you guys disabled the Ratings feature because I would have given it a thumbs up👍! A very well done & easy to follow video. I know have a clear understanding of my breaks. Thanks!
Hello I love your video, particularly the ideas about bicycle repair parts . A product I also found useful for bicycle disk brake maintenance was Enlarbo Bike Fixer Wizard - it will be on google if you need it
More than that. This is the only correct and safe method and the only video showing the correct and safe method. This man is saving lives, if only people would watch his video instead of,all the other, misinformative, videos about v brake adjustment.
Great video. Easy to follow. I also agree with earlier comments about missing rating. I sometimes get a bad feeling when ratings are turned off. A lot of people post bad videos intentionally, and a tell-tale sign of those is that the ratings are turned off. Thumbs up for the video again. :)
This is an AMAZING video. GREAT job! My only suggestions are: 1. What about the allen wrench adjustments to the BASE of the brake arms where they adhere to the bike itself? Do THEY need to be adjusted? When? 2. What about the screwed adjusters where the brake cable slides into the brake levers? I believe all bikes have two interlocking tighteners that hold the brake cable INTO the brake lever. Do THEY need to be adjusted? If so when? Otherwise, I rate this a 10 out of 10!
1: they are fixing bolts, not adjustment bolts. Leave well alone unless you intend to do a full brake refurbishment, which reqyires removing and replacing the loctite threadlocker. Tampering with this will break that loctite and risks death due to those bolts coming loose from vibration during a ride. Loctite threadlocker cannot be reused, it must be cleaned off and reapplied. So leave those bolts alone.
2: I noticed this omission too (the only important omission in the video). The barrel adjusters are set at minimum (tight into the lever housing) then the noodle head is rested into the edge of rhe noodle housing / cage. The barrel adjuster is only used to compensate for wear of the pads. When more rhan half of rne barrel adjuster thread is visible it means you forgot to check and replace your worn pads, or that your cable has staryed to break from rust/age/abuse.
This may be one of the most carefully-thought-out how-to videos I've ever seen. Beautifully crafted and clearly presented. Hats off to you!

"By now I mean later" - you're very witty Dana :-)

I never knew how to equally space the two pads and how this is crystal clear to me! Thanks for the upload!
Great video. The brake pads were rubbing on the wheel rim, and the small adjustment that was described on the NorthrockBikes video worked! Great overall video, showing other bike adjustments that I thought were valuable. Great job !!
