It’s okay! Everyone learns the game at their own pace. And the game has accessibility options and ways you can tweak the gameplay for a reason!!! Obviously people want to see you play the game how we want but at the end of the day this is your experience. So play it how you need to. Either way you’re still getting to live through this awesome story so that’s what I’m here to see edit: also, most of us have probably either already played this game or at least seen a playthrough or two. so don’t feel bad for not “getting the hang” of everything. None of us were perfect our first playthrough lmao.
Dina was late during their trip to Seattle, and considering all the reasons besides pregnancy your period can be late such as stress and poor nutrition which is the norm in this universe, it’s reasonable that Dina didn’t immediately assume she was pregnant
And even when she did suspect it she didn't want to feel like a burden on their journey or turn back to Jackson and leave Ellie by herself. It was a tough situation for her, I don't blame her for not saying anything.
On your point of how conversational the characters are...I really appreciate how the characters are always reacting to the world around them or reflecting on the last plot development as you explore around. It really makes the sections of gameplay where you are just walking around that much more interesting and immersive.
I love what you said about the conversation about the way Bill lived and how Dina’s line of questioning holds different weight! They do a really good job at giving you just enough of a conversation to think about but then it’ll come back later w different weight or meaning. I LOVE THIS GAME MAN!!

2:08:35 - there is in fact a point to detaching a silencer because they have durability and then break The whole purpose of a silencer is to shoot and still maintain stealth It is a waste of material if you are using the silencer when not in stealth.
My favorite thing is how they try to hint that Dina's pregnant by having her vomit and be winded... like damn if I saw/smelled a gory, dead horse and was running from infected/the WLF all day, I'd be vomiting and winded too! 😆
@25:00 Trap mines are really great for infected like stalkers, clickers, and especially bloaters. When being chased, you can place them down if you have a second, or can anticipate being chased :3 You catch onto ideas already so fast, so what you were doing was great!

I suggest turning off the Lock on Aim option. It locks on every enemy and it makes it very hard to get headshots or aim anywhere else besides the body. That's also why you accidentally shot the trip mine when you were just trying to shoot at the wall.

Meaning that after 152. It could only be 43 or 34 that followed. Haha
It is best to clear the area before recovering unused bombs/traps so an enemy doesn't trigger it. If he thinks that tower note was bad enough to blur... The door code follows a top, bottom, top, bottom, middle pattern

The best gift i ever got was when i realized outbreak day was my bday. (September 26, 2013) I would’ve been 13 since i was born in 2000, but 20 years in the future i could’ve been old enough to be Ellie’s dad 🤯🤯 Not to mention Joel and I have the same bday idk it made me immerse myself in Joel’s character as if i were the one going through it even tho i was just a child while experiencing the first game. It legit made my brain think of what I would prioritize if something like this were to actually happen and I was a father. 😭 Such a great game.
Personally I love the end of episode ramblings!! Thinking about the overarching themes of the game and what each episode is really trying to tell you beyond the obvious plot points is SO interesting in NaughtyDog games because everything is a device to serve the larger concept behind the game. I wouldn't mind if you even spent longer unpacking what each episode might 'mean'.
I've watched a dozen playthroughs at least.... have never seen Dina tiptoe through the TV station like that, I almost spit coffee all over my monitor...omg, that was hilarious.
Keeping your flashlight on will give your position away to humans. Just saying, since you have a habit of having it on all the time. And once you engage humans openly, reinforcements will come. So avoding confrontations to conserve your ammo is key.
A bit late but I have a tip! Since you turned on aim assistance you can change the lock on strength (both for throwables and for shooting) on the settings so that it's more accurate! everyone has a different preferable strength but i personally leave both at a 6! it's probably at a 10 for you right now so thats why you cant pull away from some enemies and why you miss some shots!! hope that helps

They tried to explore the idea of the children of the apocalypse several times . Thunderdome, Walking Dead, there are others. But Ellie is a very dangerous person. Joel adopted the apocalypse, but #llie was born in it..... Molded by it....
I beg you please flip the notes and read stories till the end. I thought you'd notice so far but apparently you did not. There's a flip option while reading notes, it turns the note over so that u could read the continuation of the story. Please be more ATTENTIVE 🙏

You should slow down when shooting, you are all over the place, try to focus more and be more patient with stealth and stuff, it's not a race, take your time. And try to get multiple people with a molotov instead of just one.
If you're trying to be sneaky around the human NPCs, then learn to turn off your flashlight, haha. The humans can see your flashlight, but the infected can't. Also on one of my previous comments that you probably didn't see, I wanted to let you know that you can bust out allllllllll car windows with your pocket knife. Just walk up to a car window and hit Square 🔳

There is a point to removing the silencer, if you aren't being stealthy you just waste it and it is limited use.
