SWEET BABY JESUS!!!!!!! 🤯
Let the controversy begin lmao
Man's spoke to soon. Abby SSSUUUUCCKKKSSS! As soon as I got to Abby's part I barely played last of us 2 (edit) I wish I dident finish the game cause I feel like the last half was a waste of my time. I did not care for Abby. I said I didn't finish it to Express disappintment
This game is based on the Greek tragedy of The Orestia. genious in naughty dog's storytelling. cassandra is on the marquee of the theater you are hiding in. Cassandra is a character that knows the future and how things are going to play out. But no believes her.. You(the person playing the game are representative of Cassandra) you cant change how the game plays out and know what it is going to lead to.. powerless to do anything(they make you press the button to beat Nora to death).. you are entirely powerless just an observer knowing what is going to happen.
I always wondered if the play was "that" Cassandra@kyletotten1685
@@roselara3587 then how do you know Abby sucks? Finish the game it’s incredible.
Love to see a actual mature person experiencing this game as it was intended.
Keep up the awesome playthrough Gabe!
I just left a similar comment on part 7 but to double down, Gabe is a mature player who understands the weight of the emotions, the content of the story and the actions playing out on screen better than most.
It even took me two play throughs of both games to fully take in a lot of what exactly I was doing, where the story was leading. And yet, Gabe is still picking up way more than I have in multiple playthroughs at this point.
Very impressed by his maturity and perspective while moving through TLOU, and his respect for the craftsmanship from bottom to top in this project.
Same, it seems ppl are split right down the middle about this game, and it's refreshing to watch someone this mature just play it out and enjoy the story. I love his analyzations as well
Man exactly, that is rare........ not meaning that I'm mature, but I reacted the exact same way he did..... And I really don't understand people that doesn't like ABBY.....😮
This has nothing to do with maturity.
It's just that he played and experienced for the first time both games back to back. He didn't have 7 years to get deeply attached to Joel and Ellie between the two releases.
@@AlexYBITW I played both games day 1 (every single version of them. Including PS3) and I loved 2 from the very start despite Joel being (and still is) my favourite character of all time with Ellie being a close second. It's about accepting the story they're telling and realizing it's not yours and that requires maturity :P
If somebody sits all grumpy the entire game and goes "Nah Joel is dead this game sucks" you will not like it. Simple as that.
It's fairly subtle, but you can see in Abby's face after she finishes off Joel that it didn't give her the type of closure she was hoping for. She almost looks confused on why it did not.
Came here to say this. 100%. Can. Not. Wait. to see what Gabe thinks of the rest...
“I love Jessie, man.”….30 seconds later 😮
definitely not using that phrase ever again!!
@@GabeKundaTV By the way. Even in the original 2013 PS-3 version, we are forced to kill the Doctor, according to the script. The second part of the game was thought out back then.
George R. R. Martin "And that's how you kill your characters"
Neil Druckmann "Hold my beer"
you understanding abby right away after finding about her dad through that flashback…i love you
While I do agree with his approach to understand Abby after seeing her side of what happened, I also do think that it is completely normal for people to feel some type of discontent towards Abby, at least initially.
@@AbelArayait is for sure! But so many people stopped playing the game because of her right, he has a very level headed and understanding pov that many people are only gaining 5 years later
@ 100% valid. I guess I didn't clarify by saying that under the assumption that people who felt discontent towards Abby would still continue with the story.
@@AbelAraya and not just stopped but especially the reviews i remember seeing after the game came out, the pure outrage that we had to play half the game as “the bad guy” no body caring to see abbys pov at all and take everything at surface level while denying ellie was ever once in the wrong. Seeing a play-through that is a reaction that i had myself when i played the day of release in 2020 (to the point 3 days later i got my first tattoo, the firefly emblem, and 2 weeks ago got ellies tattoo, to attest to my love for these games) instead of pure salt and media illiteracy, its soo refreshing. I totally understand peoples hate of abby, it is not unreasonable at all to hate her! Thats the point of abby. And The point of the game is to make you conflicted, to show you that there is no winner in hate or revenge or violence. And this guy GETS IT the way the game was intended! And i LOVE that
I could tell from the first episode of your part 1 play through that you would understand this game. You have empathy, intelligence, and the ability to convey your feelings to your audience. You did not disappoint, sir. Thanks for the videos!
You can hear Owen's last word when he whispers "pregnant"
Was just in the car and got an ad on SoundCloud for Hulu, Max, and Disney+ bundle and was like "Yoooo I recognize that voice!"
LOVE that this whole video you're talking about Ellie leaving such a vicious trail, a trail of gas that's gonna light a fire right back to her, this cycle of revenge, and then you're immediately proven right. Like the player can GUESS that it won't end well after Ellie's actions, and we can guess that Abby's gonna come right back for Ellie, but seeing it come to fruition RIGHT after is always such a shock. This game is too good.
At the end of the first game, you talked about perspective and how Joel and Ellie could be viewed as the villains from another person's experience...
Enter Abbey.
I love this game so much
The last 1/2 hour of your vid is my absolute FAVOURITE part to see people play - because its when everything starts to become REAL complicated and the "twist" is revealed. You did not disappoint. This game is just SO good.
Also, I've watched criminal # of playthroughs of this game and yours is the first time I've seen someone mention that the waves are almost trying to push Ellie back. Whether that was the intention of devs or not, I really love that metaphor!
Why do i keep watching different playthroughs of this game 5 years later its precisely for this moment and the story going forward it is a rollercoaster of emotions
I know what you mean I’m the same. So far this guy is the second best reaction I’ve gotten with jettro jettro first
This moment encapsulates the very nature of revenge: it never leads to closure; it only provides an opening for endless suffering.
Well said!
I love how u make people wait for these gameplays because it certainly made me so excited when it ur vid dropped I LOVE ABBY
me too!!! for obvious reasons i didn't like her a lot in the beginning but i've grown on her so muchhh
Team Abby!
yessss she's my favorite!
Oh you've finally reached THAT part of the game, nice! I think i can speak for all of us when i say i've been waiting impatiently for this moment. This game is such a phenomenal wild ride.
I just love that abby is a buff woman like she trained for this her entire life after her dad died, she got ready to fight joel all her life. Thats such a big part of her character
the level of critical thinking here is on 100, Gabe omg!!!! i cannot *wait* for you to play as Abby and see her story now 😭🙌🏾
been refreshing and waiting for this video all day!!
I love Abby and I'm really protective of her character. So, from the very start of your lets play and your initial reaction to Abby and wondering why when she killed Joel, I knew you'd end up loving her, too. I'm so excited to continue watching you play through this!
this might be my favorite reaction to that Abby "introduction". I love that you understanded it right away and were so surprised
Im literally in tears right now watching your head explode😂😂😂 Its honestly uncanny how your calling this story fo far. Ive watched the end of this episode 3 times now and I just can't get enough of your reaction!
This is one of my favorite moments to watch someone play. When people slowly realize, that Abby isn't just a big bad villain. 😄
She’s a big bad ass. Team Abby
2:33:32 And THIS is why the game opens with Joel recounting the climax of Part 1: because that scene, not anything else in the first couple hours of gameplay, is what sets this whole story into motion.
When is enough, enough is a great question for this game. I’m glad you’re analyzing the game like this because a lot of people hate Abby for her actions, but never think to question Ellie’s motives.
I absolutely adore watching you play my favourite game of all time. Your insight and general attitude toward the story is so refreshing. Thank you!
This story is so so much more than a revenge tale, and im so glad you see that. I think its also about how we heal and process trauma and so much of the game is about the dissonance between what we know and what we feel
Now the best part of the game begins!!
Also, can I just say, whoever is doing your edit is doing a great job. Nothing super fancy, which is a good thing in this case. Nothing is done in a distracting way, and using the music (from TLOU P1, right?) as background music when you speak your thoughts is a nice touch. It's a good almost seamless transition from the game to the "discussion." Top notch quality all around.
LOLL ur face as u start to connect the dots with abis dad and the doctor joel killed was priceless 😂😂😂😭😭 such a great episode gabe thank you!!!!
i was so stressed that video is about to finish and i was like will he reach the twist and you did im so satisfied.
Following your gameplay is a DELIGHT!
44:02 that’s because you’re a good human being. There is no controversy, people just like to call everything woke these days and hate on things because they can.
I like how you really explore through out the game and care for the characters, you’re definitely becoming one of my favourite UA-camrs!
wow gabe. you found resources and places in this game that i did not know existed. this was the main twist of the game, and boy did you deliver. this whole episode i was on my tippy toes waiting for the moment, and your interpretation and analysis is on POINT
I’ve been enjoying you playing this- you actually are understanding the story and emotions and most importantly the message. Was excited to see this revelation of Abby’s motivations. I really enjoy her character.
i've watched so so many playthroughs of this game, and you are the quickest by far to understand the message that the writers were going for (literally quoting neil druckmann with the "cycle of violence" lmao), and you have had the most empathetic and mature response to abby's backstory i've seen too!! your media literacy has definitely made this series my favourite, can't wait to watch the rest :)
Yo Gabe I gotta say your mature outlook on this game has been so validating for me and I'm sure for others. Cause for massive fans of the game its really hard to get people that straight up hate it to understand why we feel the way we do.
In 10 minutes, you understood more of Abby’s character than 75% of the fanbase did in 5 years.
2:13:15 - "Cycle of Violence" is the name of one of the songs in the game's soundtrack- well done. (But don't look at the soundtrack until you're finished.) The fact you immediately understand Abby's side is fantastic. We're all in for a treat!
Don’t know if anyone as said so already but jic when Tommy was calling out for Ellie it was actually Joel’s actor Troy Baker saying those lines at the aquarium
Really? Was it intentional i wonder?… like Ellie still hearing Joel and all that?
@ the actor and Neil said themselves that it was Joel’s voice and not Tommy
I saw a quote once and I always, always relate it back to this game.
"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."
Your thoughts at the end about it being a constant cycle, and how you said "the more you inch towards revenge, the more death is inching towards you." ... and that questioning moment of when is enough, enough? Ellie becomes something terrifying. "If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself."
chefs kiss! Thank you for being so invested. I've been a fan since the orignal release on ps3. Can't count how many times I've replayed both parts. I respect your play through and your observations so, so much. I'm having fun and enjoying your thoughts and reactions!!
This is why I personally think this is a great game. A lot of people just gave up on it without seeing the other side. They just saw Joel's death and quit without knowing Abby's reasons for it, without knowing what really happened there from her perspective. Abby and Ellie are so alike in their background and experiences they've gone through. Even despite what people's thoughts might be on playing as Abby after all she's done they can't deny that she's a very well written character.
Did people really quit the whole game though? I mean you paid for it might aswel play it to the end then. I feel like most guys just didnt like the story after playing it just because they waited 7 years just to see one of their favourite characters die in the first hour.
@@sickmit3481we knew he would probably die its how he died that people could not take it was not a hero death, it was a death. A shocking and brutal one at that, mixed that in with playing as his killer just made people hate it...
Oh and then there was those other people that saw the leaks and made their mind up from then...
@@sickmit3481 oh yeah, i know a dozen of people that quit the game after joel's death even paying like 300 on my country
You know what haunts me? I don't think Ellie ever realized the other side of the coin. She never discovered what actually drove Abby.
2:30:40 I can literally see the cogs frantically turning in your eyes right here haha
2:31:20 Ooop there it is 😂😂
Watching you play this…I started at TLOU 1, and had no idea who you were (even though I’ve heard the voice before), it’s amazing to feel again what it’s like to walk through these games again. It feels like I’m the one witnessing it for the first time. Almost every time you say something, it’s like…you just wait. During the videos, when you said things like…I love this team (Henry and Sam), or, I think Jesse is gonna be a great father. Thank you for the experience, my dude
this is the turning point for this game and the reason it's so controversial. Many people didn't give a chance to Abby and her side of the story and were too focused on what happened to joel but this story is meant to tell two sides of the same coin! it's such an incredible story that is meant to make you angry, sad, and test your conscience . This drove a lot of people away because they didn't want to experience these emotions over these charecters -- they wanted another story about love and they got one, but it was the violent side of it they weren't expecting. Part 1 gave us the feeling of learning to love and live hopefully again and Part 2 gave us how far you'd go to avenge those you've loved and lost. So excited to see the rest of your playthrough loving your commentary so far!
What I cannot understand is how a number of players have said Naughty Dog was trying to manipulate them by showing Abby’s side of the story. As if telling the full story is somehow suspect because it challenges what they want to believe.
tunneled vision on one side of the story and their emotional attachment to Joel and his story with Ellie.
@@RMBittner fr like manipulate you into what having empathy? A lot of people just were't ready to see both sides because they loved Joel and Ellie too much which I do understand, but at the end of the day they were't real people and this is supposed to serve as a peice of media that teaches us to look at both sides of a story and make us actually think deeply about every charecter not just the "main charecters" or the ones we've grown fond of.
AAAAHHH! I’ve been waiting for you to get here. 🥰 I LOVE Ellie’s first three days but this is where THE GAME STARTS (for me.) Abby and some of her friends are definitely in my top 5 favorite characters from this game! As wild as it sounds this is my comfort game & I’m adding all your videos to my Safe & Cozy TLOU playlist as you upload them bc I had faith you’d have a good understanding of the material. 🥰 (I usually wait until someone’s finished the game just to be safe but I’m trusting you.😌)
Watching you loose your mind silently while the cutscene was playing was amazing lmao
facts
I love this game because it really opens your eyes to being able to understand two sides of a story with Abby, finding out that her dad was the reason she killed Joel but also understanding that Ellie has no idea that it was personal so it really forces you to look from so many view points
It was so satisfying to watch this minutes long realization, like a slo mo car crash, that the doctor is where the entire story folds in on itself, where all previous emotions and preconceptions come to mix and reshuffle. Gorgeous!
Abby’s story is my favorite part of the game she’s baddass💪🏽
mine too!!
"Man I love Jesse, he's gonna be a great father"
*cue Curb music*
Dude all the Jessie praise we got in this episode was rough lmao
Few character deaths hit me as hard as Jessie especially considering how little time we spent with him in reality. He’s not around for long, but he makes a big impression. RIP to the realest… and also you ended up with an even better stopping point 😂
He was such a bro! Loved his character
Jesse's death is a gut punch. He's probably the most likeable and truly "good" character in the game. Owen is a close second, aside from that one specific part..
@@Brendo2386 he’s the kind of guy you call your “brother” and mean it
You missed my favourite conversation in the game with Jesse in the library. Great video Gabe keep em coming
I'm so glad nobody spoiled this twist for you haha
1:49:38 Minor correction: that's Gray's & Zachary's fate. Jules is the WLF friend Gray was writing to and leaving the notes for. Gray was being guided by Zachary to meet the Seraphites, but Zachary died to the bloater. Gray (who has now changed his name to Emmet) was able to survive.
Gabe, you're goated and we love you. I KNEW that you would appreciate Naughty Dog for their boldness here and you did not disappoint, as usual giving us an incredibly insightful and nuanced take on this story and if your reaction to Abby's motivation is anything to go by, the rest of this playthrough is going to be CINEMA. Keep that open mind and enjoy the ride brother ❤
I love hearing player’s thoughts on the controversy of this game because nearly 5 years later it’s a different world we’re living in.
There’s an important angle that often gets overlooked-the context in which this game was released. Many people focus on in-game events like Joel’s death or being forced to play as Abby, but the game’s reception was undoubtedly shaped by the real-world chaos of 2020.
These games are deeply rooted in themes of grief, trauma, revenge, and the cyclical nature of violence, and I think it resonated differently depending on what players were experiencing in real life. During a time when people were already feeling helpless, isolated, and angry-whether due to the pandemic, political tensions, or racial injustice-many may not have been in the right mindset to engage with a story that was so relentlessly bleak and emotionally draining.
2020 was a year of extreme polarization, and we know people felt exhausted by constant conflict. The game’s structure, which forces players to see things from different perspectives (even ones they initially despise), might have felt frustrating when real life was already demanding so much emotional bandwidth. I think people were likely looking for escapism, and instead, this story confronted them with uncomfortable moral dilemmas and brutal storytelling (shouldn’t feel so shocked, it’s TLOU).
So while Joel’s death and Abby’s story were lightning rods for controversy, I think the larger issue might be that TLOU asked a lot from players at a time when many just didn’t have the emotional capacity to embrace it. The timing of its release may have amplified the backlash, making an already divisive story even more contentious.
It’s really heartwarming to see how this story is being revisited and appreciated in a different light now that people aren’t experiencing it under the same weight of 2020. The world is still far from perfect there’s a bit more emotional space for people to engage with its themes without the same level of exhaustion and turmoil clouding their perception.
It’s a testament to how powerful storytelling can be- how a game that was so divisive at launch can find a more appreciative audience over time. Some people who initially rejected it are now seeing its depth, nuance, and emotional impact in a way they couldn’t before and I love that. It’s nice to see it being cherished for what it was always meant to be: a challenging, thought-provoking exploration of love, loss, and the cost of vengeance.
While what you said about the context of the release of the game is completely true, you forget one very important detail : the people who played this game when it came out are the same people who played the first game when it was released, 7 long years prior. And, they possibly replayed it many times during those 7 long years, and got attached to Joel and Ellie even more.
The people you talk about, those who treat the story of the second game more nicely if I may say, are the people who played both games back to back, without to have to wait 7 long years therefore they didn't have the time to love Joel and Ellie the same intense way others did.
@ I like that you brought this up because it’s worth adding. To be clear, the point I was speaking to is that the backlash wasn’t just about losing a beloved character because that alone doesn’t fully explain the controversy. It was about how the game’s themes and storytelling choices landed in the very specific climate of 2020.
In a world like TLOU I expected that at least Joel would die and the trailers alone kinda confirmed things for those who theorized (trying not to spoil). I was only surprised by how soon it happened in the game but I also feel this is why the game works.
I played the first game when the remaster was released so I agree about deep character attachments especially with replays over the years. When it comes to listening to Gabe’s commentary and watching other new players experiencing both games back-to-back, they’re doing so in a different world, one where they aren’t carrying the same collective exhaustion and grief that people did during its release.
That difference in mindset changes how the story is received. The weight of part 2 was especially heavy in 2020 because people were already navigating real-life grief, anger, and division. While the world isn’t perfect today, I think people can engage with the game’s themes without those external factors amplifying their emotional fatigue.
So yes, while time and game pacing matter, I feel that the real shift in reception comes from the fact that players now aren’t experiencing it in the middle of a global crisis. The controversy was always about more than just Joel’s death-it was about how the entire game, with its darkness and complexity, felt in a world that was already overwhelmed with tragedy.
@@evemerie Everything you said is completely on point and 100% true. They released it at the wrong time definitely ( not entirely their fault of course ! )
Well said eve
(No spoilers) Watching you play through this is just me going “oooh just you wait!!!” every other minute.
- “I wonder what Abby will do Ellie eventually” (just you wait)
- “I really like Jessie” (just you wait, RIP💀)
- “oh look there’s the blood stain from that random doctor NPC Joel killed” (… just you wait)
+ a million more things I won’t mention because they actually are spoilers.
This game just keeps one-upping itself and you are attentive enough to catch the foreshadowing and the symbolism even if you don’t have all the puzzle pieces yet to make sense of it right now - which makes the eventual payoff so much better ❤
I’m really looking forward to seeing you play as Abby!
One of the best reactions to the reveal I’ve ever seen! Amazing video
i have been waitttingggg for this reveal! i love your reactions, and i 100% feel the same way. i cant wait for the story to progress for you
Was waiting eagerly for your reaction to this mid-game climax - the light bulb moment - and you didn't disappoint in your thought process! Abby's love for her Dad since birth shouldn't be any less than Ellie's feeling for Joel. Actually from measure of time, Abby spent her entire life with her Dad and in that medical research facility and extremely close to him based just on a few dialogs. I think you'll enjoy Abby's arc coming up (during the same 3 day period).
this is a PHAT video oh my lord thank you gabe 🙌🙌
the moment of realization… we all have been there 🤣 btw I really love your insights on Abby’s side and reasons, even tho her decisions hurt us all it's “understandable” considering everything that happened, we learn more and more with this game that every story has two sides and it is dangerous to choose one without listening to the other
1:39:43 I wouldn’t say uncharted is as “emotionally driven” as TLOU. It’s a more upbeat adventure game. But there’s still a storyline to follow that’s very great and it’s such a classic game. And if you love how beautiful TLOU is you’ll be obsessed with uncharted. A change of pace but insanely fun and rewarding to play!
I loveee abby. So happy you finally got to her part of story.
Ellie didn't do anything to Abby. Abby and her friends all killed Joel together. So it's not the same for Ellie to let them all go, as Abby letting them Ellie and Tommy go. Had Abby listened to Owen, especially after Joel and Tommy saved her life! Her friends would be alive. Had Owen not been there, Abby would have killed Ellie and Tommy. Or her friends would have and she wouldn't have stopped them.
What blew my mind was that Abby knew Joel killed the fireflies to save his daughter, and she still went after Joel because she loved her dad MORE than she cared that maybe him reacting the way he did was justified. I love the moment where Abby tells her dad she would want to die to save everyone. You could tell he would still be conflicted about killing Abby. Even for the good of his own people and the world. THEN Ellie knew the truth about what Joel had done and knew that he had a past where he'd hurt lots of people and she still went after Abby and her friends. You can tell that Ellie is conflicted, but she loves Joel more than she cares that maybe his murder was justified.
This game is such an examination of how a deep love can make people to really terrible things. The mirroring of both stories is insane. The fact that Abby's dad argues to Marlene that finding a cure through Ellie could redeem all the bad things they'd done in the past. That's exactly what Tess argued to Joel in Part I. That maybe getting Ellie to the fireflies could redeem the past. WOW.
Great play-through! So thorough.
Your reaction to the reveal met, exceeded and crushed all expectations. That was great lol.
You nailed it. Loved the reaction to this moment. That's why I love this game so much. While parts are hard to play through repeatedly, it's an amazing exploration of the cycle of violence and has more impact than it would in a different media, I believe.
"Jesse will be such a great dad"... 😭💔😭💔😭💔
Nice, you posted just as I was sitting down to crochet. 👍🏼 Now I have something to watch while I finish this sweater.
I love Abby too! A lot of gamers hate her regardless because of their blinded love for Joel and although I love Joel the most and believe she shouldn’t have killed him, it definitely makes you understand WHY she did it and I completely understand her because if this game started in Abby’s POV from the first game, Joel would’ve been the enemy in our eyes. It’s such a great example of how conflicted you feel about both sides. This game is awesome.
Gabe, gotta say... you're amazing, bro! You didn't even have to spend a lot of time in Abby's shoes to empathise with her on another level. That's awesome!
One of the biggest reasons why you are having trouble with the bow, is that you aren’t pulling the bow string back all the way. If you just click the shoot button, the arrow won’t have enough power to travel far:)
The upside to watching playthroughs of these games is seeing other players' perspectives and insight they can give. I love how you mentioned the symbolism with the waves by the aquarium and what Jesse said to Ellie before they parted ways. I didn't notice stuff like that before and its nice the depth this game has to it.
Near the end you mentioned Owen and Mel but don't forget how Ellie tortured Nora. Based on what Nora said during that part, we can see that she was pretty close with Abby too.
You made me play this game again 4th time. So im in it with you, youve made me remember why i love these games again. 😊
2:39:30
your friend count is off.
jordan, at the school.
nora, at the hospital.
mel and owen at the aquarium.
those are the friends ellie's killed so far.
The imagery just hit me after dozens of playthroughs and rewatches: Abby, Ellie, and Joel all walking through the same door, walking down the same hallway in Saint Mary's hospital.
*Abby:* You took everything from me!
*Joel:* I don't know who you are.
vengance is a never ending cycle and this game just display it so incredibly! what you said about Jesse's death is so true his death is almost the hardest to accept because he seems so innocent, but his love for his friends inevitably wrapped him up in Ellie's pursuit for revenge. Everyone she cares about is now also a pawn in this fight she chose to take on thinking it would lighten her burden but it never does :(
Knowing what‘s about to happen.. now‘s the time the real rollercoaster starts and the where the game tests your emotions
52:26 I really like that you mentioned the mood of the player when they first play a game and how that affects their enjoyment. Before TLOU 2 came out, there was a huge mess because major spoilers were leaked. I think that kind of set the tone for a lot of players without any context. I think that contributed to some of the controversy around the game, or at least a lot of hateful speech before the game was even fully released. And i imagine a lot of players brought that negativity in when they finally played, just to find reasons to validate their hatred like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Of course there’s plenty of reasons why someone could dislike gameplay or story aspects of this game, and I don’t want to discount their feelings, but it was just rough to see the constant hatred and close mindedness because of they happened to be spoiled.
This game is the ultimate maturity test - if you're immature you'll hate the story. I knew from watching his TLOU 1 play you would love pt 2! No game has ever made me feel or think or cry so much
You can't dislike something without being immature ? Is that what you just said ?
People who like this story aren't superior to people who dislike it in ANY capacity.
That's a very dangerous mentality you have there.
I don’t hate this game but it’s really preachy repeatedly, I feel like you have to be a real knucklehead to have stuff spelled out to you so directly so many times lol
@@AlexYBITW I think they meant that people who don't understand the story or still don't forgive Abby or at the very least understand her perspective are immature. You can think the story is bad but still appreciate the message, people who still want revenge by the end of the game are immature.
@@KayosHybrid
If you think it is preachy then you only caught half the theme/point.
Sadly most people focus on Abby/Ellie and think the story is about the cycle of violence/revenge when it is more than that.
They completely miss that part of the story is self-hatred, regret and guilt. Ellie didn't do all of this because Joel died, she did it because she hated herself and felt guilty for not forgiving him.
Thank you, Gabe! 🫶
2:31:21 my favorite part, your reaction is actually priceless lmao
When it hits Gabe that Joel killed Abby’s dad is priceless!
Abby became one of my favorite characters in TLOU universe I'm very excited now to see you experience her side of the story and point of view🥰😊
I was hoping you’d get through all three of these big moments. Really turns things on their head, huh. This game is nothing but trauma, but I love how symbolic each of the big cutscenes turns out. Naughty Dog really makes the most of every cutscene and flashback to develop your understanding and feelings, one bit at a time. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the TV show.
An eye for an eye or in this case, a dad for a dad.
i’ve never clicked on a notification so fast 😂 i’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the next section of the game
i’m so glad you kept going to see what would happen next, that would’ve been a rough way to start the next episode haha
Love your analysis of the game and its character so far! I think you will really enjoy and get a lot out of the rest of the game!
I'm sure most of the other characters will get mentions in the comments, but we can't forget, RIP Alice. Sure, you won't know who she is until next episode, but it's still worth mentioning.
I’ve love this series, have notifications for each new upload and I watched you play Part 1 as well, but PLEASE fully charge the bow before you release it! You’ll deal maximum damage and it’ll travel faster 😅
I’ve been waiting for this penny to drop for you 😂 it’s quite the conundrum, isn’t it? It also ties back into what you said at the end of the first game, which is Joel and Ellie are the heroes in their own story but the villain and someone else’s.
The fact that at 2:10:12, immediately after this scene where Ellie kills a pregnant woman, we cut to a close-up of Dina....
😂 the moment HE REALIZED" Yeeeap insane.
I like your playthrough mr. Kunda. Like your emotions. Keep going this way.
Isn't this great? And this only gets better. Such an incredible story.
I’m just so insanely glad you’re playing this. Like everyone else in the comments in saying, the way you’ve reacted to other games and part 1, I could tell you were mature enough to actually consider Abby’s point of view when we got to this point. This is where the whole controversy came from. First Joel dies, then you’re forced to play as Abby. Since we’ve been on the Ellie and Joel train for forever, Abby comes in and is painted as a villian. But their stories mirror each other in so many ways. Their loved ones, partners, and “fathers” were all killed in acts of revenge. I’m just so glad you’re playing this and so excited to see how you react to the rest of it.
love ur vids!
1:45:13 NOT THE BBL PIECES 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I also love the slow burn realization of Abby and her father's importance to the story at 2:31:00 and how the more gets said the more you're like "WAITAMINUTE!!" with your face
Your reaction to your last video was absolutely picture perfect. I can only imagine how this ones gonna go. Oh man, talk about the shit hitting the fan. Ive been dying for you to get to this part! Im honestly on pins and needles right now to see how you break it down😢
