Kenyans Cops are harsh towards other Africans coming or living in Kenya. But very nice and polite towards Muzugus. This has to change. Such inappropriate behaviour does impact on how a country is judged, rated and chosen either for business or tourism.

The comparison of the Kenyan cops to American cops is not accurate at all. Kenyan cops are not out there shooting people down and just targeting all forms of mediocre. We have an issue with bribes but here is the thing you can actually refuse to do so and take them to task. You will live to talk about it in one piece and not battered . I have lived in bath US and Kenya and I have gone toe to toe with Kenyan cops and am still here . In America I wouldn’t dare breathe the wrong way……. It’s sad that he felt that level of threat and as a country we must do better with our systems. Hope you enjoy Rwanda to the max.

I don't believe he meant that he was afraid for his life dealing with the Kenyan police, but the fact that he had to be wary of the cops AT ALL was too similar to his experiences in the US.

I found this tidbit on oranges that I thought some of you would find interesting. "Most green oranges, on the other hand, are perfectly ripe. By the time they turn orange they’re sliding downhill towards rot. The green skin of an orange isn’t indicating that not enough of its natural color is coming through. It’s just pumped full of chlorophyll. In warm, sunny countries, that chlorophyll stays in the fruit. It’s only when the fruit is exposed to cold that the chlorophyll dies off and the orange color shines through. Since most people associate green fruit with unripe fruit, most green oranges in the United States and Europe have to be colored to be sellable. In some cases they are exposed to ethylene gas, which breaks down chlorophyll. Some are shocked with cold, or covered in wax. Some are scrubbed down with detergent and some are just dipped in dye. Anything for a sale."

In Uganda, Agricultural Inputs like machinery are not taxed simply because the gov't injects less money in it. so the only way to boost it indirectly is to not tax the agricultural inputs just like tourism inputs where you can import a cruise ship into the country without paying a single tax as long as it's to promote tourism.

In Isaiah’s vision of the flowering of the desert wilderness, the acacia features with non-desert trees:
“I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree;” (Isaiah XLI, 19).
Since acacia trees grow in the desert and the Children of Israel needed them for building purposes while they were in the desert. Just more confirmation for me.
