  • First off, this is not a real match; it's a highly edited video.
    I only have one robot and one driver, so I used some editing magic to make it look like it was a teamwork match. The main purpose of this video is to explore another strategy that could be used by high level teams. Also, it could be an indication of what play will be like at the World Championship.

    Awesome run! How are you getting such a fast reload on the catapult? Is it only one motor? What gear ratio is it? We are really struggling to get a consistent shot. Any tips on that? Thanks!

      It is a two motor 2:4 (24t to 48t gears) ratio. It can be difficult to get a consistent shot for a variety of reasons. Could you be more specific on why the balls are missing? Are they spreading? Not going far enough? Going too far? One thing that can be helpful is thinking about it logically from the perspective of the ball. Keep in mind that whatever angle (forward-back and left-right) the balls are released at, they'll keep going like that unless they hit something.

      Yes, we are. We've actually had it for a while, but wanted to give teams a chance to begin to develop it first. I plan on releasing it soon though.

      speaking of concepts, my team is currently building an 8-10 ball design thats coming to state with us. im considering adding a 1 motor high hang to it for worlds, or if i have time, state

      @@austinsus13194A I don't have a release date yet, but if you were wondering, my high climber only uses one motor (and ~5-7 seconds).

    What gear ratios should be for such a fast drive? amazing fast drive

      It is a 2:3 speed drivetrain, so not incredibly fast, but I think that it is probably close to ideal for the weight of the robot.
