S1:E24 Motorcycle Ride Beartooth Pass
Вставка

- Beartooth Pass is maybe my favorite road. After meeting up with my friend Bob in West Yellowstone we venture off the Beartooth Pass where we happen to run into a new friend from Rocky Mtn Roll and decide to ride together for a while. Over Cheif Joseph Pass and after splitting up with Jeff I realize that I have lost something very important....
Thanks for coming along for the ride!

Hey Tim, nothing wrong with getting a little Emotional. It just means you really appreciate Gods Beautiful creations. I went up there on Vacation one Year and it is Incredible. I think on a Bike where your actually in the environment it is so much better than being in a Vehicle. I really enjoy your Videos and Love seeing all the Scenery. Especially the Clear Streams. It seems like here in Texas, all the Streams are Muddy until you get into the Hill Country where they are Clear. Thanks again.👍 Joey
Drove out to Yellowstone 25 years ago for my honeymoon from Massachusetts. When we left we went out through the silver gate and over Beartooth mountain pass and that was probably one of the most memorable days of my life what a beautiful drive
I'm glad you told us you got emotional because that shows you were seeing the vistas not just looking at them. That to me is what these road trips are all about.
I'm pretty sure had we lived in a past era we both would have been explorers.
Tim, I can't even express how amazing your videos are (partially because I'm not a native English speaker ;)) I like a lot how you film from different angles and your peacefull energy and your enthusiasm make me want to make my own adventure. Thanks a lot!
Thank you very much my friend! Much appreciated. Hope we cross paths someday!
Tim, your passion for riding, adventure, and enjoying nature is refreshing; and in direct contrast to lots of negativity on the internet.
Thanks Edd, that means a lot to me!
Seeing the Bison in their element is a thrill. To think that once there were hundreds of millions of them breaks my heart over what happened to them.
The railroads... at times a herd would take DAYS to cross the tracks. Actually requiring repairs to be made due to the wear they caused. So, all men passengers above a certain age were handed rifles and all the ammo they wanted to shoot the bison while riding to their destination.
Heartbreaking.
1972 I had a glazed donut and a cup of coffee in the park near the elk horn arch. My buddy sang a sad and off tune rendition of happy birthday and it was indeed the happiest of birthdays at the ripe old age of 20. Love that place, those times.
Bruce that sounds like an epic way to turn 20! Right on 😁
Loved this road so much - filming it is not easy as it doesn’t show the magnitude. You feel like a tiny spec on that road - so great!
I finally got over the Beartooth on my 4th attempt. Twice in June and once in September I was turned back by snow. Worth the wait.
I may catch crap for this but... Thank you for riding a BMW. When I rode touring bicycles from LaJunta, CO to Pasco, WA with my son we rode through the Tetons and Yellowstone. The constant drone of Harleys totally distracted from the experience. It's not that I don't like Harleys... my father and brothers had them... it's the noise. We met three guys on BMWs in Lowell, ID in a diner. They, seeing our touring bicycles, struck up a conversation. I thanked them too. They got it.
Bob!!! You are so cool. I love how Bob pointed out that beautiful flower growing out of the rock, anyone that takes time to appreciate that is AOK in my book. Tim, love you too(-: via con Dios mi amigo
Thanks Rik, Bob says hi!
I truly enjoy watching your adventures every day while having breakfast. It makes me feel taking my GS and hit the road. I’m promoting your adventures in Europe!! Drive safely and thank you for sharing these!
Just how I like to start my Friday, thanks for another great one Tim!
Thanks! Hope it's a great day 🙂
i respect so much your feelings about traveling this beautiful country. I am head there with my son in 8 days. Thank you so much for the videos.
The view looking back at you and what is behind you on the bike is great.
I just took a 3 day ride through Yellowstone the middle of September 2020 on my r1200rt. Yellowstone is my favorite park. It is beautiful that time of the year. I also like the sound of the big flat twin on the BMW bikes.
Chief Joseph Pass is a truly amazing road!!!
Tim, I'm going to be riding Beartooth in a couple of weeks, going west (the proper way ;-). Your emotion around the 10-minute mark of this video ... man, that's me. I cannot wait to experience this.
Notice you passed the Irma. I love that place and the buffet. I rode a bagger over Beartooth in 2009 and still remember the thrill. Excellent video!
Always enjoy your videos. Your mix of the commentary, music, along with excellent visual is great.
Thanks Edd, glad to hear that.
Being one myself, I am glad to see a two wheelin' geezer watchin' your back in your travels. Two wheelin' is what keeps us young. Happy trails, Tim! P.S. Stay clear of the eastbound winds when the supervolcano in Yellowstone blows.
Glad to see Bob is getting more comfortable on camera!!!!
Omg those western skies I remember too you can see forever and the clouds look so high
I went out that way in September 2019 from NH. Didn't have the best weather, clouds and rain followed me around but it was still amazing. Heading back out in the spring of 20. Thank you for sharing. Very motivating.👍
Stunning sites; love all the water shots -rivers, lakes, waterfalls! I love the sites and sounds of running water.
Another great video. Chin up Wheels down😎
Very nice video. Bear Tooth pass has been on my radar for YEARS! For some odd reason, we've just not made it there, YET! We've been to Yellowstone several times and will head back there again. If we're that close, we're definitely gonna do Bear Tooth. Thanks for the very nice views and scenery. Can't wait to get back into that area again.
SR
I’ve never been through Bear Tooth Pass but have enjoyed both the Southern and Eastern entrances into Yellowstone. It’s a beautiful area to explore and create life-time memories. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and sharing.
I absolutely love watching your videos! I’m taking in so much.
Witnessing someone else be awestruck by nature’s beauty and majesty is probably second only to experiencing it oneself. Awesome. Grateful for your being there and bringing us along. Ride safe brother. 👍🏻🙏🏻
I live halfway between Cody and Red lodge, I've clocked over 3,000 miles going over beartooth pass. I've never been West to East. I leave the house go over Dead Indian pass, do the BT pass, then fuel up and eat in Red lodge, and 35 min home from there.
Awesome video....thank you for sharing.....enjoy the ride...stay safe
It is amazing to be blown away by landscape. Beartooth is on my list. You need to come back through Colorado again Tim. We’re waiting for summer again. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait as long as this past one. If you do come back I got a road for you. It’s short but sheer drops on both sides. Great way to get the blood pumping. Loving the vids as always. Give my regards to Higgs Beach. I’m guessing you’ll get there. Travel safe!
I knew exactly where you were coming in from West Yellowstone all the way up through the BT pass. I am surprised you didn't mention Cook City coming out of the park...or film it. It's a great little town. I will look for your ID along the road on my next ride over. I have stopped at the top of the pass many times where you were. Very pretty up there. And chilly, even in summer. Cant wait to do the loop this riding season. Cheif Joseph highway on the WY side is really pretty too. A guy could use up a lot of battery life and accumulate reams of footage trying to take it all in. I got in a race with a mountain lion one night up that way. Lots of fun.
Never gets old, Tim! Thanks for another good one!
Thanks John! Have a great Friday 🙂
Forty Times Around:
You too, brother Tim!
Awesome ride. Hope to make that ride one day. Thanks for sharing and be safe.
Yellowstone is my favorite place. I used to snowmobile there every year for many years. Looking forward to a trip there soon on my Himalayan. Great video 👍👍
Thanks Steve! Snowmobile sounds like fun in Yellowstone!
Like the semi transparent windscreen, it was either that or a higher camera perspective over the top. What a beautiful area you guys explored, really enjoyed the video and your narrative along the way. That out front go pro view is excellent. Ride on! 😎
Highlight of my friday afternoon. Stopped work just to watch and not disappointed. Thanks for a another superb video Tim
Thanks Nick glad you enjoyed it.
Getting emotional, about the beauty in front of you, is totally understandable to me. I feel so lucky to witness it, knowing many don't. Personally, I think that says a lot about your character, and I hope you never lose that part of you.
All the best,
Rob
Thanks Rob! I appreciate that.
Fantastic scenery, well done!!
Hello Tim, the way you show your travels is so refreshing for me and I hope for all of us riders. I have been adventure traveling for 30 plus years but never recorded anything. Only took a pictures but that 's it. Back then it was different. Now with the internet I wish I could take the time to record with a camera and share my experiences. I have been to 6 out of 7 continents and I really hope you can also do the same. Then I guess I will be seeing the world through your camera and passion...........Cheers
Patrick thank you so much my friend, that means a lot to me. I hope I can get around the world too. I enjoy making these videos and documenting my travels but sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the moment too. I still wish i had taken more pictures on my first big motorcycle trip.
Rode through Bear Tooth Pass this summer. One of my absolute favorite places! As you said the views are fantastic!
I did an early season camping trip to Yellowstone, Teton and Rocky Mountain. I wasn't on my motorcycle but what fabulous places to hike and nature. Cody has a cool museum especially if you're into guns, but also history of the west. Your video brings back great memories ... I want to go back.
Tim, great videos and interesting life story.....you have come a long way and looking forward to watching your future adventures.........so obvious you have a fascination with waterfalls and any flowing, rushing water.......ride safe!
Thanks Stefan, and yes I absolutely love water! Almost as much as I love riding motorcycles.
Easy to see how you can get awestruck but the scenery. Amazing.
It is wonderful here, truly amazing.
My 6 year old daughter (Helen) loves watching your videos with me. We visited some of the same National Parks in 2017 and she remembers all the places you visited. I grew up in North Dakota and am looking forward to seeing your trip to Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park. Helen would love to see you respond to our comment. Happy trails, and safe travels.
Hi Matt and Helen! Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting. Glad you are enjoying my videos. The Dakotas are beautiful. Happy Holidays!
Thank you, and blessings this season!
Another great video. Fantastic scenery. Only been to Yellowstone once, so we had to see Old Faithful, and yes it was packed.
Haven't ridden Beartooth Pass yet, hopefully we will make it there next year. Looking forward to the next one.
Old Faithful is definitely worth seeing once. Beartooth is wonderful!
I can't wait to hit the west coast and visit yellowstone. It's breathtaking.
Great video Tim. I rode the Beartooth and also cut across on the Cheif Joeph bypass. I agree it's one of the most epic rides I've ever done. Safe travels.
Thanks Pierre! Those are great roads.
I live in Central Oregon where I love the mountainous views. My next ride will be North to Idaho, Montana and tour Yellowstone. I can't get enough of this stuff.
Awesome video! Definitely going to plan a ride through Yellowstone! Thanks for sharing your ride Tim!
Thanks Randy!
Good video thanks for sharing and i did beartooth pass last year in June and Yellowstone grand Tetons
Hey Tim ! It's always great to see each new video of your travels, but extra cool to see my friend Jeff in the video this time. I'm glad he listened to me and went to Rocky Mountain Roll while on his huge excursion (I talked to you on his phone, lol) .He's really a hell of a guy, I've known him a bunch of years now.
Hey Thomas! I'm glad you messaged me, I lost Jeff's phone number that I had written on a piece of paper. I couldn't get in touch when I passed through PA but I'll be back in the spring and was hoping to visit then. Maybe you can have him email me? Fortytimesaround@gmail.com Anyways, glad you enjoyed the video! I'm really glad you pushed him to go to RMR. Take care!
@@FTAAdventures - I'll pass it along and get his number to you. I'm not sure he has an email, but I'll get it to you one way or another. He figured you were too busy to meet . I was gonna try to ride out and meet you on the way through as well (I ride a BMW too).
Jeff and i went to the Finger Lakes BMW rally last year, it was a hoot. That was a thousand mile weekend, lol ! I knew Jeff would love Rocky Mountain Roll - it seemed like a great meet.
Ride safely, Tim !
Awesome scenery! One of the best videos I've seen.
Thanks! I appreciate that 🙂
I can see why you got a little emotional!
Your choice of background music is superb. Goes so well with what we're watching at the moment.
We visit Yellowstone at least 1 time a year. And we have found you can kind of think of it as 2 different parks. The west is geysers and people the east is wildlife and less people. I like the tip about taking a picture of your license in case you loose it. Great tip. Thanks for sharing.
It really is like 2 different parks, that's a good way of looking at it. Thanks!
Cannot believe that you didn't film any of the high mountain lakes up their through Beartooth Pass?!
Theirs A lot of Grizzly bears up there as well! 👍🤠
I spy with my little eye a Rocky Mountain Roll shirt :D
So glad you got to hang out with Jeff! He was SUCH a cool guy. I hope he gets to come back next year! I'll miss him!
100% Agree, Beartooth is just meant to be ridden going West. ;)
It is a great shirt design! I was so excited to see his bike parked outside a gift shop. He is a great guy! Pretty sure I passed Tom too but I dont think he saw me. That really was a great event Amanda, thanks again for putting that together.
I said the same thing when I saw Tim's shirt ! Jeff is my best friend, and brought a shirt back for me - I love the shirt ! He really IS a great guy, and would do anything for you.
Great video, I'm hoping to hit that area this summer. And yes, coming around a corner that reveals an amazing landscapes definitely stirs the motions in those who love nature! I remember the first time it happened to me, it left me wanting more as it always does...
Thanks Todd. That should be a great trip for you, some awesome riding around there.
This is an awesome channel, just found it and yes this drive is incredible
Thanks! And glad you found my channel, happy to have you here!
Tim thank you so much for the most amazing views.. I can only imagine how spectacular it must be in person..this is on my list for my motorcycle adventure..you always inspire man.. keep up the great work! ... this video hands down was one of the most amazing footage you have shared .. I wish it was longer I could have watched a couple hrs lol.. be safe my friend and I appreciate everything your doing!
Thank you very much! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Ride safe!
I've done this road twice. Fabulous! I'd like to try it going in the other direction.
Dude awesome videos every time !! went to school in Missoula Montana for a year in the 80s didn't ride then , but spent so much time hiking and exploring truly beautiful , 1st eagle and mountain goat sighted on continental divide trail in Glacier National park back in the day , 20 yrs ago feels like yesterday BIG PROPS TO YOU TIM Thanks for bringing back some good times ! Safe riding Bro!
Thanks my friend! Glad it brought back some good memories!
Drove through the Beartooth pass and Chief Joseph highway this memorial day weekend on our trip to YNP/GTNP. By far the most memorial views I ever had in my life
Beartooth was like being on the moon!
Hello Tim, yes... in this landscape one becomes humble. How small and unimportant man is in this world...
Beautiful landscape... this is how one imagines the wild west in Europe!
Greetings from Michael from Germany!
Hi Michael! It really is the wild west out there! Such beautiful scenery and wild landscapes.
👍
One last thing: I am so glad that you changed that smoked windshield for a clear and bigger one. This was probably the least safe piece of equipment you could have. Ride safe. Cheers
Such a great road!!
Awesome video man. Those are some roads I can ride on. Unlike those other mountain goat passes you ride.....Haha. I need to stay on paved or gravel....
Thanks! Yeah, these roads were nice and paved! Ride on!
Great video of an EPIC Ride! I rode West over the Beartooth with 2 buddies on June 4th of this year. That was the 3rd day the Pass was open for the season! Massive amount of snow at the top! Dropped into Yellowstone to massive traffic, Ugh. Ride On Bro!!!
Thanks Larry!
Beartooth Pass is awesome!! I plan on hitting it again in June 2020 on my way to Alaska!
I did about at the same time similar roads up there. I also think going Red Lodge over bearthooth into Yellowstone is the more exciting direction. I was early up on the pass and took time for breakfast with a view as spectacular as all go out. Had that day power issues with my bike and therefore limited on digital evidence, since that was the only way to charge my electronic toys. Have to go back and see it again.
If you were on your way to Cedar Edge, then you must’ve been going up on the Grand Mesa! I hope you took some video...it’s pretty special up there! The worlds largest mesa...if you didn’t know. Really enjoyed the video! Bummer about losing your pass and IDs! So frustrating!! Be safe Tim!! ✌🏼
Thanks! Yeah we went up there but I unfortunately didnt film much as I was distracted hanging out and catching up with friends. It is an awesome area!
Glad you mounted Doubletakes on your bike...now the view looks like the one from my seat =)
Haha they are great mirrors, you have good taste too then 😊
Absolutely beautiful really want to head out there flown over it few times but never been there
Ahhh, you'll killing me Tim, every time I see one of these videos I want to add a new location to my route. 😁
It's better than finding out after you get home 😬 right? This one is definitely worth of a spot on your itinerary 😁
another great one Tim. Even though I know it's more work for you I especially like the 20 minute + vids. Ride safe.
Thanks Kyle! Good to know. Glad you liked this one.
Love this video, Montana my favorite place in the world! Beartooth pass is awesome in a car, I want to ride it on my bike.
Thanks Eddie! Beartooth is awesome!! Definitely worth a trip on the bike.
Sorry about your loss of park pass man, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Perhaps you missed an accident down the road because of the delay, who knows. In the big picture its a small thing, focus on the joy of that scenery, wow ! Cheers.
Thanks Dan! That is a great way to look at things.
Great vid. I posted our Grand Teton video last night and tonight I did West Yellowstone. My Beartooth Pass video will be coming soon.
Awesome! I'll have to go check that out. Ride on 👊
Really enjoyed this video Tim! Lisa and I are talking about a big trip after she buys her F 750 GS next season. Going to be up that way in Banff National Park and working our way down through Beartooth Pass and Yellostone.
Thanks Pete, hope you are healing up good? Glad to hear Lisa is buying a bike!! That would be an epic ride for sure! Hope all is well!
The canyon views in Yellowstone are awesome
Love your vids. Looking forward to your MABDR as a East coaster !!
Thanks! Glad to hear it
Great ride Tim! Looking forward to the next video as we missed Gunnison when we were there in August, just didn't have enough time.
Thanks Mike! Gunnison is gorgeous!
Thanks Tim🙏
Thank you Mike!
Nice. Licenses and passes? Remembering the motto of Ted Simon (Jupiter's Travels): "The interruptions ARE the journey." I have this love-fear relationship with Yellowstone. Been there several times, and have had more near-death experiences in that Park than in over 300,000 other motorcycle miles. And it's always by tourists doing remarkably dumb things. One mega-RV pulled abruptly out of an overlook about 20 feet in front of me, and two bicycles fell off the back of his land yacht. To this day, I don't know how I missed them skittering at me and then off the road edge. And that's just one of many terrors I've had in Yellowstone.
For me, Yellowstone seems a beautiful mermaid, luring me to peril. Maybe you have an immunity? ;)
Haha yeah, Yellowstone is dangerous and it's not the animals you have to watch out for. I've seen some remarkable actions there too lol.
I did this ride in August and went through a blizzard on the pass. Sportbike on steep snow pack road means lot's of pucker factor
I totally LOVED my trip over Beartooth pass I did not get to go east to west maybe next time. :) We were on our way east.
It's great both ways but worth a few laps if you have the time. It's a good reason to go back 😉
Gorgeous! Damn dude!
Thanks again Tim! I have to smile when I hear you say;”You were getting choked up”, “ Absolutely Stunning”, “”What a gift” and “Incredibly Beautiful”. That feeling, emotion, experience is what seems to be the desire to share, but also is the most challenging to try and describe. I get it, and you did a good job conveying it. Your tips are spot on. Any plans to go 550 through the San Juan NF while in CO? Still on my best of lists. Keep it up brother. 🤙🏼
Thanks! I didnt get to do 550 this year but I've ridden it before and its spectacular!
Man I love Beartooth pass.
what a great ride pity you lost your paper work. would love to ride over there. live in wales uk , have fun on your bike that what there for.
Thanks Adrian!
Looks like you had a moment like I did in Idaho, I just got overwhelmed and emotional pulled over and filmed the moment . It is so amazing what geting out into the wilderness on a motorcycle for more than 1 or 2 days can do to you> I can not eve . imagine the highs and lows you have experienced on this extended adventure.
Man it is good to see BOB again!!!!
I was watching and you showed the cowboy bar in Jackson Hole and had to laugh, that is where my parents met lol.
Beautiful absolutely gorgeous footage bro!
Thanks! Bob says hi! He is with me in FL. I live for moments like that, the views that take your breath away. Nothing better.
@@FTAAdventures HELL YEAH TELL BOB HELLO!
A couple of years ago we camped on the east side of Beartooth near Red Lodge in June, could only go to the top as there was 10 foot of snow up there, the rangers had stopped people driving over the top, but we did get to the top. glad I was in my truck and noy my M/C as the wind was horrendous up there. So to get to Yellowstone we had to drive miles around. Did you see the dozer that went over the top and several feet to the bottom.
Tim, I kept wondering why you were waiting behind all those cars. Being from California I’m spoiled. We can lane split. That means that I never get stuck in a traffic jam. I wish other states would allow it. It really opens the road up.
I blew a rear tire up at that lake at the top of Beartooth. Lucky we were fine but what a beautiful place to break down 👍
There are definitely worse places to be dealing with that.
Love it buddy!!
Thanks!
Transparent windscreen is much safer Tim. Somehow you will be able to judge better. ✌ Anyway, there's always gorgeous scenery in your country. Lucky you...😁
Thanks John! It is beautiful here.
I am a Patron subscriber to your channel. If I had seen this earlier, I would have bought you a new park pass.
Thanks Wayne! I appreciate the thought, glad I got it taken care of. There are worse things I could've lost.
