  • Todays vlog spans over a few days I spent in South Dakota meeting some really cool people and seeing some beautiful scenery in the state. Some sights include Wind Cave National Park, Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road and the Needles Highway as well as the Badlands and Wall Drug.

Just found you last month. I’ve been a rider for 25 years and just want to say your channel has given me a renewed lust for the road. My last epic national park adventure included Rocky Mountains and Mount Rushmore but that was over 20 years ago. I’ve informed my wife and 95 year old mother that they’ll just have to get along without me for a few weeks this summer. I’m heading west again. If you need some excellent roads to try in Michigan let me know. I’ve been on most of them. It’s time to leave the trees behind and head for the mountains! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us all. Your the best!

Tim, I've ridden across SD from east to west on several occasions and always shocked when riding friends, say, "oh man, that's a long flat boring ride." I want to slap them. There is no color like the blue of South Dakota summer sky. The sense of going from midwestern corn fields to the real prairie is just awesome....Each time I do it I imagine myself as Lewis or Clark seeing it all for the first time. Totally unexpected and like no place else in North America. Love the Black Hills but Sturgis, no thanks, none for me, please.

Except for Wind Cave I visited everywhere you went in this video a week ahead of you, including the back way into the Badlands. Clifton Thompson, I grew up in So. Dak. about 18 miles north and west of Mitchell, So. Dak. home of the Corn Palace. I have now lived in North Carolina for 32 years and this video hurt my heart, because I rode with my dad to the Black Hills and through the Bad Lands many times on motorcycles. From the small town I grew up in, to the Hills was about the same distance as I would travel to the mountains here in N.C. I have just gotten back to riding in the past year and truly want to get back home to ride the wide open roads I grew up on in eastern So. Dak. Have a safe and wonderful time on your trip. I will pray for beautiful riding weather for you. My dad knew a lot of back roads in the Hills because he worked for Homestake Gold mine cutting timbers for the mines when he was a young man in the earl 1940's. I'm done, no more rambling.

I thought I would let you know that I ordered a smaller size First Aid Kit and a multi-pac of Wet Wipes from Surviveware. Wow, what a great company. Excellent customer service.
Question: I am a complete newbie and would like to get a helmet cam, probably a GP Hero, and mount it to the chin of my Arai XD4 helmet. I think you used to used to have a similar Arai. What mount did you use for your chin? And how to you get your voice so clear? Is there a separate helmet mic? Sorry for the newbie questions. But this is literally my first time considering such gear and I would hate to get it wrong. I’d love to record stuff to share my touring adventures with my wife who doesn’t ride. I looked at your list of products you use but could really figure out what to purchase. Thanks for your time. I enjoy all the videos. Ride safe.
