One of the most deep and romantic lines in Trek history is spoken by... Worf?!
You didn't know?...Worf got game lol
@@cdc8875 game yes but he is the worst father in star trek history

Just wait till DS9 ;)
Who do you expect will? Data? 😆
She shows up, takes a vacation, buys him a new wardrobe, gets him looking nice. Kind of a keeper bro.
In another comment section someone wrote, she shows up, disappears, comes back with his kid, dies....she's Space Jenny.
This REALLY helps you to FEEL the pain Worf felt when he later did what he did to duras.
You mean kill that worthless piece of shit?
@@engine22emt damn right. Though calling him a piece of shit is an insult to shit
Fuck Duras. I understand that Picard had to reprimand Worf, but I think even Picard understood that this was something Worf had to do; he wouldn’t have been able to be his usual efficient self otherwise.
Dukat should have gotten some Worf revenge like Duras for what he did to Jadzia. Sisko did the galaxy a favor getting rid of him but still he needed some attention from the son of Mogh too.
@@chrismc410 Did Worf even know Dukat murdered Jadzia?
Ya know, you see these things when you’re a kid. And it just seems boring. You don’t get it.
Then you see these clips as an adult. After you’ve lived. Loved and lost.
and it just tears you up.
Indeed.
not always. It tore me the 1st time too
Oh, God. Has it been a century or more? What wisdom blooms from living!
Klingon tears flow.
I completely agree with you Steven. There is no Joy like the joy of Love found, and there is also no pain like the pain of Love lost, and only someone who has personally experienced the Love and the loss for themselves can truly understand the vast depth of either.
Oh good lord, not to say I don’t love this very nice moment but that “next time I won’t be so easy to get rid of” line leaves a pain in my chest when you consider what happens “next time”
What happens? Please explain.
Suzie Plakson is such a good actress, she turns up in TNG for a few episodes and is fondly remembered even now.
Don't forget she was Q in voyager too
I wish they had made her a recurring character. I really liked her.

Somehow, it doesn't surprise me at all that two Klingon lovers holding hands looks a lot like two humans squaring off before arm-wrestling.
I thought he may actually do that, then I thought they would purposly squeeze enough to break bones (similar to females using nails to draw blood from a potential mate's hand)
The klingon romantic music in this episode is really, really well done. I always did like it, and now that I'm older I can appreciate it even more.
The music in TNG was in general incredible, little hints during dramatic parts, like the Klingon theme right before Picard sprung his trap on the romulans in another ep, so good
That's thanks to Ron Jones. He did all the music for the first four seasons of TNG. One of Rick Bermans's worst decisions was getting rid of him after S4. He felt Ron's music took too much away from what was being seen on screen - how stupid can you be?! Music brings it ALIVE ffs!!
For anyone interested, here is a link to the 'Romantic' music from the Ron Jones Project music, its called 'Meaning' ua-cam.com/video/guu02tzpm3I/v-deo.html
It almost has a Karate Kid II feel to it (Bill Conti).
@@RhythmiconsGood catch, there are similarities yes.

This is the best look Worf has ever had in the entire Star Trek IP.
Yea he's champed out, he just stood down a Klingon warrior and fucked a beautiful amazon klingon girl, he's feeling it
I will not be complete without you.....what more could you want the person you care for to say...
Exactly what I was thinking. What more is there to say?
That really was a beautiful line. Said so warrior like and yet so dam* romantic at the same time. I honestly choked up watching this at work
It would have been interesting to have her not be killed and be a recurring guest. Worf and Troi felt so rushed they had no chemistry.
They were never really a thing. They were just "Hey, we were together in a parallel universe so let's try it here!"... now, Worf and Jadzia, THAT was real.
@@KingdaToro And then she died due to contract BS.
Don't know about chemistry, but biologically Troi was too small and fragile for a big Klingon.
@@menacelurkingyet8345 half klingon
@Chamber999, I have read some of the novels featuring that romantic pairing, but it always felt more than slightly off. Especially when paired against novels featuring her and Riker. I have always had issue with the Worf-Troi pairing.
This was a great storyline in TNG. Worf was willing to forego being cleared as a traitor to kill the man who murdered the love of his life.
Duras would have never cleared him. That was a fool's bargain and we all knew that.
@@Rhythmicons The only way that would have happened would have been for Duras to admit his family's treachery (yeah, right!) or find another scapegoat. In the case of the latter, it would have tarnished his family further as they would have been more widely seen to turn on any house as long as it suited their ends. And in the meantime, he would have had a newly restored House of Mogh leading the efforts to discredit them.
What ever happened to the king ons from Kirk’s time. Did thry ever shift to 24th century
Good god Suzie was one of the most attractive women in the entire Trek franchise, past present and future.... even in Klingon drag.
I agree I liked her best when she was the Vulcan doctor Selar.
Truer words were never written... She is several kinds of hot.
@@jasonduke3608 Perhaps, but she had one of the best lines in all of Star Trek as Q in Voyager: "I'm not talking about the puppy!" Perfect delivery of a great catty line.
@@davidbrand391
Yeah that was a great line performed perfectly.
Indeed
A Klingon heart beating alone is a terrible thing.
Despite Worf was raised by open-minded human parents and K'ehlar is half-human, both keep to their Klingon heritage so well. Homage to Spock's half human heritage and his struggle to remain to Vulcan ideals.
The main difference being K'ehlar seems to have embraced her human side far more than either Worf or Spock ever did.
"I will not be complete without you." Meets Dax. "Oh, OK, I'm fine now."
K'eyhleyr had been dead for years by then, plus he'd already avenged her by killing Duras so from a Klingon perspective that's a relatively healthy and normal end to a relationship.
@@fingerboxes I'm just kidding. I wish K'eyhleyr had a bigger role in the series, though. Worf and Dax were so much better developed, but that's true of pretty much all interpersonal relationships on DS9.
She kinda had to beat him over the head to realize it though. Almost literally.
But she was dead way before that. He had to move on
@@potsdam28 that's how it works with Klingons. Worf was lucky heavy objects and poetry didn't get involved
I hated that they killed off Keh'lahr, just to 'heighten' the drama. I would have loved to see more episodes with Suzie and Michael playing together!
Berman did not want that kind of continuity as it would cause too much confusion for repeat syndication sales, or so that was his idea.
playing together? this is not a soap opera, it either provides meaningful story content or you need to cut it out of the story as soon as possible. What we're seeing here has been the right decision
They also killed off Jadzia as well.
The ice man does have a heart
I always liked her, as a character, an actress, and for what she did for Worf's character. As much as I loved Jadzia, this is who Worf should have ended up with. She did (or could have) completed him. And they could have raised Alexander on the Enterprise together. Major missed opportunity there. Still, her death was an emotional one, and deeply felt by me and I assume other viewers as well.
Her death was meaningful. So was Jadzia's. One thing that Klingon culture taught us viewers well is that we can die with meaning as passionately as we seek to live; that there is fulfillment in such a death, even if there is anguish. No doubt Worf mourned Kaylar's loss, but in dying, she fulfilled the bond between Worf and Alexander; a bond both deeply needed. No doubt Worf mourned Jadzia, but she died fighting in the greatest war in the Alpha quadrant, a warrior and a partner.
Indeed
Worf really never topped this romance, although Jadzia was a close 2nd.
good TV means tragedy
I wished there was a spin off with Lt. Selar in it. Her character really did fit with the Star Trek series.
Damn!
This is way before the all famous,
"You complete me"
Line from Jerry Maguire.
You had me at Q'a'pla!
A very young and thin O'Brien manning the transporter there.
She was my number one crush on STNG.
This episode had passion, intensity and warmth that made it awesome. One can understand a bit more of the Klingon heart and soul after this.
It's a shame they never could come up with a recurring role for Suzie Plakson. She was definitely a good actress and had good characters to work with.
Only someone you love this intensely can both make your heart race and drive you completely nuts.
Klar was a gem of a lady! Would have loved to see more of her! Worf too was someone we shoudl have seen more of
LADY? There wasn't a trace of a lady within a mile of Paramount Pictures!
I was talking about the character... I didn't know the actor's personal history
I dont know who 'klar' is but im sure ur right
Totally a heavy emotional hormonal scene, I liked it.
Great character, I wish she could have had another episode or two.
How much better would it have been if she became a recurring character or even a series regular... the dynamic between her and Worf was just so good that it almost seems criminal of killing off her character.
This show had some incredible writing and dialogue...
This beats the hell out of discovery so called {klingons}
The Klingon Outfit that Worf was wearing reminded me of what Cmdr. Kruge wore on "ST III : The Search For Spock" 👍😀
There only 1 computer that speaking.
Speaking.? Let me hear it.

Get out.!! Get out of there.!!!
Lol he's shouting instead of beam the whole team back.
I swear that’s the same thing.. I love the explosion in that scene suchhhhh a wicked blowup of a starship
Worf won't be complete without her.
Meanwhile, there's always the Holodeck.
It's agreeable to come across this clip today... I just watched Reunion (S4 ep7) with her in it. She brings so much depth to her character, and thus to those around her as well.
What about Mrs. Q?
I like how the producers of TNG used many of the same actors in different supporting roles.
Ms.Paxton was later a Vulcan medic in another episode.
I wonder if O'Brian has a Closet with a Chair and a table and a stash of Data Pad books he sneaks off too every time The Bridge staff "Relive" him
What more needs to be said
"Nothing"
"EVERYTHING"
Women am I right
What she expects, and what she needs.
Nah, this is just deeper insight into the poetic nature of the universe.
Susie Plakson is so good that she makes Klingon sexy.
To be fair Klingons make Klingons sexy
man, she was the sexiest Klngon ever.
And she did it without showing any cleavage.
It's so fuckin sad. Worf had lived in seclusion for so many years, scored a night with an amazing partner, had to go their separate ways, then had to carry all the weight of a bastard child and their hatred decades later... wtf man. Can't people just live with one another in peace for a change?
A better love story than twilight in 3 min
Deanna and Jadzia were just
filling an empty chair.
Klingon 💘 is True 💘.
It is kind of sad watching this scene with forehand knowledge of what fate eventually befalls K'Ehleyr.
She was one of my favorite recurring characters and my favorite Klingon, next to Worf of course.
For just a split second he questioned Worf. In that split second he shat his pants three times, reflected on his entire lifes work and came to the conclusion Worf was right..he would indeed be relieving the man of his duties.
"I relieve you!"
"Not necessary, sir; I just relieved myself."
Yet another example of the "O'Brien Must Suffer" trope.
The way the score captures both Klingon honor AND human romance is something else.
in a better universe, they're together and happy.
Yeah, I would like to see the mirror universe with these two.
The way @suzieplakson is playing this separation scene gives me some Bette Davis vibes.
The pauses , the depth in each word, the look. The kind of look that goes beyond til the depths of the other character soul.
Am I the only one who feels that?
I had a theory that more than just what we saw on screen happened between Worf and K'Ehleyr. After this episode, she appeared again in the episode "Reunion", which took place more than a year after this episode. I theorize that she and Worf mated in which Alexander was conceived and later giving birth to her son. That can only explain the sudden appearance of Alexander in the next episode in which K'Ehleyr appears.
I think due to Alexander's age it would be assumed that Alexander was born two or three years before Worf reported to the Enterprise-D. K'Ehleyr simply kept it from him because she thought he didn't really love her but would demand they be married anyways as tradition, plus that it would be expected of her that they be traditional and she give up her career to be a stay at home mom. So she thought she was saving them from being trapped in a loveless marriage while she is trapped in traditional klingon role as a wife and mother.
I love The Orville, but watching that show made me want to rewatch The Next Generation and...man, yeah, the writing is just soooo much better. The Orville is a great show, but The Next Generation just had some legendary episodes.
Season 1 was acceptable, then it gets progressively worse as it introduces more woke nonsense. It's not good television and shouldn't be compared to any of the classic trek whatsoever
One of my first lessons on what being in love meant.
0:14, That look of bro let me handle my business.
Worf-K’Ehleyr was the only Worf romance I ever liked, even despite some of K’Ehleyr's stubbornness.
Yet despite that, Worf-Jadzia did produce some good scenes and witty banter here and there.
"I will not be complete without you."
"Comfortable chair."
The man contains multitudes.
Somewhere along, the music, the scene, the character relationship... Gave me the sense I was watching a Conan the Barbarian movie.
I do love Ron Jones' theme for Kalar. 💗
" I'll begin the assimilation of these Klingons to our Collective" (B_o)
The music is exceptionally well done in this scene.
I loved their romance, it was awful when her character was killed, but Worf's response was glorious, as the Klingons would say.
That was wicked...I'll have to go back and watch all the episodes I missed.
Oh no! Our type casted grumpy/stoic one is starting to be happy, we better kill the love interest off quickly or Worf might end up with a sentence of dialog without the word "honor" in it somewhere.
Unpopular opinion: I wish they had been allowed to be a couple and we had missed the whole Jadzia thing.
The only reason that's unpopular is because Worf + Jadzia existed in the first place and were such a good couple. If this had played out, Worf might not even have come to DS9 for all we know. People were very upset over what happened to her near the end of Reunion after all, so I don't think there's too many gripes over that.
I don't believe it's an unpopular opinion. Killing her was a bad idea and it messed up the whole Alexander storyline. They just didn't know what to do with the character. She is still, to this day, one of TNG's favoutire recurring character.
Even more so, the whole Troi thing.
@@menacelurkingyet8345 Now THAT is an unpopular opinion 🤣
@@menacelurkingyet8345 Ugh. Don't get me started. I get it, opposites attract. But those two, really? First of all Troi wouldn't survive First Contact.
Worf was an excellent character. Mike Dorn nailed it with him. "Is there anything else you require?" lol

Jadzia Dax, joined symbiote pair...

"I will not be complete without you. You complete me."
"Worf... you had me at nuqneH"
Poor Worf was done dirty twice. Both his mates murdered :( And then the writers did Alexander dirty.
Few actors take roles with heavy facial appliances because they are of the belief that people will be unable to "see" their acting and expressions. Some actors are able to relate an expression regardless of the facial makeup. Suzie was one who was able to translate a role regardless of the makeup involved because she was never worried about it. Dorn already knew what to do because he came in knowing how he would play the role, but for Suzie as a guest star, she took it on and made the character hers and fans of the show could tell. Peter Vogt and James Sloyan have each played 3 different characters in Trek, all requiring heavy appliances, yet very few people can tell which ones they played because they can't make a distinctive enough impression.
Worf looks so awesome in the Klingon regalia!
Such a romantic line
That look on her face after Worf makes his comment is like
Damn he does really love me
The only romance in television that I can remember routing for.
I love Warf too, just in a very different way.
Little does Worf know that he'll go on to marry Jadzia Dax.
Ole Saying... Everybody Get Marry to Their Second Choice.
Worf got some honorable Klingon snatch.
little did we know that Worf was absolutely, 100% right. She died, and he spent the rest of his life trying to replace her and failing.
Jadzia was amazing, but I can't help but wonder what a Worf/K'elehyr marriage would have been like!
I Will Not Be Complete Withou.... ENERGIZE!
She hits him with the love child later on. The last laugh.
Is it just me or is that the finest klingon ever.
Worf is like the Sharpe of TNG, he must suffer honorable pain and loss at least once a season.

@@NeinDao No problem. For clarification, "allot" means "to allow space for" something, like "I will allot some time for us to talk" (a very weird sentence). It is a word, but it's uncommon.
The common phrase in English "a lot" means "many" or "much." You used the phrase correctly but simply used the wrong "a lot/allot." Lots of native English speakers will type "alot" as one word, but it's actually two.
