Anyone that says Kirby can’t write never read this issue of Mister Miracle
45:14 that’s it the Star Wars cover from Mister Jansen! Spot on my man, I have been waiting all video to see where that thumbnail would come in and was not disappointed. It is immense the influence Kirby had on all my favorite writers and artists. I knew there had to be a through line somewhere.

It might have been better had this been the last issue; what follows will be hard to relive. But what an incredible run this has been. And what a beautiful comic.

Best Mister Miracle of all time
Himon has a very "Prophet Elijah" vibe to him.
So can we all agree that Star Wars was a pastiche of sci fi novels, movie serials, comics, westerns, WWII films and pop culture in general? You can see a wide variety of individual influences too numerous to list.
Don't forget about the influence of Akira Kurosawa, especially his 1958 classic The Hidden Fortress, which contains several crucial elements that were to become a major part of the Star Wars legacy.
I’ve gotta ask….is “I am Stan” a reference to “I am Sam”?
It would kinda be saying something if it is, and I really want it to be true.
"I Am Sam" is the compelling story of Sam Dawson (Sean Penn), a mentally-challenged father raising his daughter Lucy (Dakota Fanning) with the help of a unique group of friends. As Lucy turns seven and begins to intellectually surpass her father, their close bond is threatened when their unconventional living arrangement comes to the attention of a social worker who wants Lucy placed in foster care.
In my mind marvel is Lucy….ditko an Kirby are the social workers….Stan yells I’m the father and waved his arms around a lot.
I have kinda a twisted sense of humour.
Masterpiece.

To say Star Wars was based on this is a huge stretch.
And all this was stolen from H. G. Welles and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Woohoo
