I’m thinking of doing all 4 doors in my truck alpine system. Is it ok if I use 4 ohms? What do u think I should use 2 or 3 way speakers? I never see the 2-2.3 ohms like u put in the back of your truck. Are the stock speakers all 2 ohms, even the dash and sub are they all 2ohms? Thank you.
It will not hurt anything to do 4 ohm it just the volume you normally listen at will be lower so you will have to turn the volume higher. A good 2 way Would work, the important thing to look at would be the frequency response something like 30hz-20,000hz. Finding the lower ohm speakers are usually difficult and from what I have found, usually in a JBL or Infinity brand is a good place to start. I don’t measure the speaker resistance but I think you are correct and all speakers are 2 ohm. The sub specifically is a dual 2 ohm voice coil. Please be aware, the 6x9s in the front door are not wired for full range. Even if you swap a 2 or 3 way speaker, you will still only output mid bass. That is the reason I have not swapped the fronts, not till I add a 4 channel amp. Good luck! Great questions! Thanks for watching!
@@peteesramchannel416disalvo9 no problem. That is why I am here. I don’t think it matters 2-way vs. 3-way, I honestly would go with whichever one I could find that had the lower impedance (ohms).
So for us stupid people in the back, did you notice a huge difference in volume and clarity? I just bought a 2018 ram and it’s very bassy which I like but volume is pretty meh!
Great question! Not volume, they are 2.3-3 ohm speakers and the stock ones are 2 so the amp pushed them harder (stockers ) but clarity? Absolutely! Being in the back seat does make it hard to hear the full range but huge difference in clarity. I would say, slightly less mid bass too but eventually I’ll be putting a 4 channel on the door speakers so that will improve!
What a great video! I want to know this guy!
So do I

@@Ourgarageautodetail if I change the back door speakers what do u suggest 2 or 3 way? Sorry for all the questions.
