Thank you for the deer story! Getting ready to buy a bike and start riding to work in the city everyday. I'm more concerned with cagers than I've ever been about wildlife when I used to ride in Tennessee. I'll be praying even more everyday! Thanks again. Have a blessed day!
Damn, I guess you got blessed. I'm here for the Bolt videos, and I'm glad the deer thing worked out for you. Hit one two bikes- 5 years ago, similar result, 'cept the bike continued straight down the road, the deer and I bounced off into a ditch. And the guy driving behind me called an ambulance, had a heart attack, ended up going to hospital in it, while I rode home.. Anyway, keep updating the Bolt vids pls 👍
Pumped you made a video about the deer story!! Such a great testimony of how God is actively working in our lives and directly in connection with us each moment
I hit a small deer, coming home from night shift at 2:30 in the morning. Similar situation as you.caught it mid body, it slid up the windshield then slid off bike directly in front of bike. I gave it gas, raised front wheel and jumped over its body. Killed the deer but never lost control. Swallowed my heart and stopped at a legion, still opened, told four old hunters, they collected the deer, I’m sure it went into some good venison stew! If you ride a lot, it’s not a question of IF this will happen but WHEN it going to happen! Practice evasive maneuvers before hand, physically and mentally.
You should do a fixing up video for the bolt honestly, as for the dent on your tank you should explore how much it would be to pop out the dent, god bless to hear that you are alive after that crazy story with the deer
Thank you! And I probably will do a video of it, because I'm going to try to repair the tank instead of replacing it. My brother who helped me build the saddlebags could probably fix the tank.
Thanks for the video! I am looking to purchase a used 2014 Bolt R Spec locally with 13,000 miles on it. Was a little concerned if that was considered "high mileage" territory for this bike but your review helps put me at ease.
Great vid sir! I ride a '21 Road King, which I love, but I am 68 and those RK's are heavy. I have been eyeing a Bolt for some time now. Your informative vids tell me what I wanna hear. That the Bolt is reliable and will take me where I wanna go. Thanx again and keep up the great work!
“Not to say the bolt can run over animals and still be fine… but… mine did.” Lol but yeah man that story is crazy. Nothing is an accident or a coincidence.
Yup! It doesnt stop with the pegs kids. The frame hits too. The bolts on the left side are ground half way through. We will see how long till my peg falls off. 😅
Ok. I gotta comment on the topic of hitting stuff too. I was doing 80mph in the left land in the middle of the night and hit a 8’ plastic bed liner. I hit it on the front of the bed side with the front tire. It nailed my foot and kicked it down into 4th it wobbled like crazy. I thought to myself “this is it” but it stabilized, I continued my journey.
First bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom. Really considering it again or a bolt. Want a sport bike but chain maintenance and all that sounds annoying
The Bolt is a great bike, but it could use a sixth cog in the transmission. Maybe I'm asking for too much. I've heard of guys swapping out the Bolt's front engine pulley with one from a Yamaha Stryker.
Damn dude your videos have sold me. I definitely want a bolt. I’m about to get my first motorcycle. I’d love to know info about those cases on the side (I want something like that instead of leather saddlebags), and the usb on the handlebars. Any tips on what to buy/ tips on installation would be welcome. Thank you for putting in the miles!
Thanks man! Saddle bags I can't be much help. My brother and I welded them from scrap metal and then bolted it into the frame. I couldn't really help with finding other ones, because I was looking before we built those. The USB port is easy to install and really cheap on Amazon. Maybe 10 to 15 bucks if I remember correctly. She's been a great bike. Hope she is for u as well
Bruh, what you said about the death wobble. I had a 2020 R3 and same exact issue..right around 45mph. Dealer thought it was the forks not being stiff enough or the rear shock being too soft. I said well I want new tires anyway. Ordered some new Pirelli tires and the had them installed. The issue was completely gone. They were OEM Michelin.
Don't stop now. maybe do a series on the rebuild of the bike? Glad that your Guardian gave you a heads up, so that you didn't plow into the deer at full throttle. Stay Safe
Usually that "tail" is followed by, "Deer, Jezzus Fu*king Christ!!!!" -- so I guess that's a notch in the feather of Yamaha successes. Not sure they're going to make a commercial about that one, but I liked the story.
I was on a ride on my yamaha bolt a couple weeks ago not to far from Mt. Rainier and a deer ran across the road. About 5 miles back I let some car pass me so it ran out in front of him instead of me. I was going at least 50mph and the guy ahead missed the damn thing by inches. Could've easily been me
Can you tell me what kind of windshield you have? Just bought my first Bolt.. it needs some light work. I currently dont have a windshield and wondered how much it cuts down on the wind. Thanks for the video and glad you are ok from hitting the deer. You mustvhave had a guardian angel that evening!
I have a question my good sir. It has to do with interstate riding on the Bolt. In general do you feel safe/comfortable riding the Bolt on interstates and if so what speed are you comfortable at and what do you feel is the max speed the Bolt can handle? The reason I'm asking is because I'm still a beginner rider coming up on 1 year experience. When I'm on the interstate riding at 65 and over I am extremely nervous, white knuckled on the handle bars, and the whole experience just sucks! It's mainly because to me at 65 and up the bike just feels like it's being pushed to it's absolute limit and feels extremely unstable under me. 74mph is the fastest I've ever gone on it and after about 10 seconds I was like nope I'm done with that! I don't know if it's because the Bolt is a smaller bike and it's this way for everyone that rides one on the interstate, or if it's just me and I need to grow a pair and will get more comfortable with experience? I feel like it's probably me and that the bike being a 950 should be completely capable of interstate riding and speeds, but I'm just not sure about it. I wish that I could ride another different bike on the interstate so that I would have something to compare it to, but that's not an option at the moment. Anyways given how many miles you have ridden on a Bolt I figured you would be one of the best people I could ask about it. I very much thank you for any answers or advice you can give.
Hmm good question... I usually don't go faster than 65, 70. I feel comfortable and thr bike is capable of going higher, but to me the sweet spot is right in there. Things do feel different on a bike going 80 plus because on the bolt u feel a lot of the wind resistance. If u ride a BMW cross country bike 80 feels like nothing because u don't feel the wind resistance on your actual body. The bike redirects it off of you. The bolt is capable of going faster but u definitely feel it.
Thanks for taking the time to help me with that. It does make me feel better to know that 65-70 is a normal top interstate speed for the Bolt. I'm sure I'll get more comfortable and less tense and nervous about interstate riding over time and with more experience. Ride safe and thanks again my Bolt brethren.
You: 7:00 God: Oh. You think you can trick me into you not hitting a deer, then thank me again, to avoid it. I got something for you. That'll teach you to pray. And get this! You'll call it "awesome"!
Hi where I live they have speed bumps how does this type of bike handle these , thanks I will be buying one soon but just like to clear up a few things first
@Global Vagrant sometimes if the steering bearings are just a little bad but not really bad getting new tires will make things okay but then later on when the tires are maybe 75 percent worn the wobble will reappear. So it might not really be permanently fixed. But maybe yours is.
Yes it I think so. Always a good idea to at least to sit on one first. The weight is distributed low. Plus you probably won't get as bored quickly like with some "starter" bikes.
I would if you have some riding experience. I rode dirt bikes growing up, and then had a Honda rebel for years, so i was already comfortable on 2 wheels. The bolt isn't too big, not too heavy, and it's a cruiser so it's not insane with the power and torque. It'd probably be fine for a first bike. Just take some time getting used to it.
I got it off Amazon I think. But the fit was a little off so it was a little tough to assemble. I had to bend the pegs out so they wouldn't make contact with the bike on bumps. It's decent though. Better than not having one
Sorry to interrupt this insane hilarious issue: why on earth would you take your hands of the bike? This is..the most stupid issue i have ever encountered! What about the “death balance” - when you walk on the edge of the roof with your eyes blind folded,ha? Oh! There is a solution, take of the band of your face.
Thank you for the deer story!
Getting ready to buy a bike and start riding to work in the city everyday. I'm more concerned with cagers than I've ever been about wildlife when I used to ride in Tennessee. I'll be praying even more everyday! Thanks again.
Have a blessed day!
You've helped a lot of people buy their bolts. Awesome videos
Love the prayer story, thank you for being proud in your faith. It’s refreshing
Damn, I guess you got blessed.
I'm here for the Bolt videos, and I'm glad the deer thing worked out for you.

Anyway, keep updating the Bolt vids pls 👍
Dang that is a wild deer story! I'm glad you made it out of that alive.
Pumped you made a video about the deer story!! Such a great testimony of how God is actively working in our lives and directly in connection with us each moment
Awesome story and great testimony of how prayer works!! Blessings dude
If that's how prayer works, you're not encouraging people to pray Ha, ha

Considering I live in a country with no deer.. haha
Your experience is incredible. Miracles do happen.

Just bought my wife one today. Im impressed with the bike in general. Ive owned tons of bikes. This is a secret. A good one.
It's been a great bike! In the middle of fixing her from the deer incident... but besides that she has been a very reliable bike
“Not to say the bolt can run over animals and still be fine… but… mine did.” Lol but yeah man that story is crazy. Nothing is an accident or a coincidence.
What a story! I kinda of have something similar but it wasn’t a deer. Glad your safe man!
Thanks man!
Yup! It doesnt stop with the pegs kids. The frame hits too. The bolts on the left side are ground half way through. We will see how long till my peg falls off. 😅
Man thas so cool you pray 🙏 I pray every Tripp before I start. God bless homie

Lmao @8:15 " I'm still driving" busted out laughing 😂😂
You should do a parts rundown video. With links, lots of links.
First bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom. Really considering it again or a bolt. Want a sport bike but chain maintenance and all that sounds annoying

I’m pretty sure it’s the same as the dyna death wobble. Suspension related on the dual rear shock
Love the story about the deer, did you continue to visit your friend😅
Damn dude your videos have sold me. I definitely want a bolt. I’m about to get my first motorcycle. I have a new tank done in green with black stripe and bolt on the left side of tank if interested.

WoW! Good story!
Super helpful man, glad you’re ok after the deer lol.
Usually that "tail" is followed by, "Deer, Jezzus Fu*king Christ!!!!" -- so I guess that's a notch in the feather of Yamaha successes. Not sure they're going to make a commercial about that one, but I liked the story.
That was god saying "I got you homie, but watch what you say" 😂
You are one tough son of a pistol to ride through the pain to get home. I took a small rock to my left shin and needed to pull over lol.
I had a Vulcan 900 that did that. Very disconcerting. I ended up selling it but figured it was tires as well.
Where do I get that style of saddlebags? they look dope!
Thanks man! My brother welded the frame together out of some metal rods he had, and then we put plastic boxes on them
lol 666 thumbs up now 🤘😈🤘 i just bought a Bolt yesterday and this video was one of the reasons that help persuade me.
More bolt videos!
Hi more videos please on the bolt. What tires are you using?
I know I'm behind on editing! Not sure off the top of my head and I'm out of the country but I got them on Amazon I believe
I was on a ride on my yamaha bolt a couple weeks ago not to far from Mt. Rainier and a deer ran across the road. About 5 miles back I let some car pass me so it ran out in front of him instead of me. i love this bike. just bought one
Hey I know this is an old video but have you modified any of your pulleys for highway riding?
Great listening to you; I’d tge death wobble only with your hands of the bars? Thanks
A friend has a GOld Wing, he complained bike has a low speed wobble, last two Gold Wings. Curiosity if it’s just tire balance or design issues.
Don't know for the gold wing but the yamaha seems to just be tire balance. Mine went away
Mine is a 2015. 38k miles. I have just accepted the wobble. The tire thing only works for a little while. Oh well…
I have a question my good sir. It has to do with interstate riding on the Bolt. Ask & you will rec. 🙏
LOL My 1974 KZ 900 did the same thing. All I had to do was balance the tires and the issue disappeared. BALANCE THOSE TIRES PEOPLE.
Did you check the horn connection? They vibrate loose on some bikes
You: 7:00
God: Oh. You think you can trick me into you not hitting a deer, then thank me again, to avoid it. I got something for you. That'll teach you to pray. And get this! You'll call it "awesome"!
Great review and cool deer story! God bless.
Hey bro! Dig your videos!
What have you done to the handlebars?
Thanks! I didn't do anything to the handlebars... I think they're stock. Finishing up repairs on the bike now. Will try to get a video about that up
Hi where I live they have speed bumps how does this type of bike handle these , thanks I will be buying one soon but just like to clear up a few things first
Never had an issue with speed bumps
Btw, glad you're ok after the deer incident.
I'm not sure of I should get the bolt or the vmax (2000) any thoughts on this, thanks
Gas tank really sucks. I have a 2014
Everyone says it’s the steering bearing not the tires
Interesting as mine was fixed after i got the new tires.
@Global Vagrant sometimes if the steering bearings are just a little bad but not really bad getting new tires will make things okay but then later on when the tires are maybe 75 percent worn the wobble will reappear. So it might not really be permanently fixed. But maybe yours is.
Still have the bike? If so, what mileage are you at now?
Go to iron mountain road in SD
What was your mpg?
Great story. Maybe it was fate? Try deer whistles - use two or more aimed at slightly different angles, not all aimed dead straight.
Would this be a good first bike for a guy who’s never had a motorcycle before?
If you are comfortable on bikes in general, probably would be fine. It's a little big for a first bike, but honestly it shouldn't be a problem.
It's not like it's a crotch rocket with way too much torque
Yes it I think so. Always a good idea to at least to sit on one first. The weight is distributed low. Plus you probably won't get as bored quickly like with some "starter" bikes.
Would you recommend a Bolt as a first bike?
I would if you have some riding experience. I rode dirt bikes growing up, and then had a Honda rebel for years, so i was already comfortable on 2 wheels. watch my video of my new Yamaha Bolt 950 with Vance and Hines pipes ! sounds amazing
where did you order your sissy bar with luggage rack?
I got it off Amazon I think. But the fit was a little off so it was a little tough to assemble. I had to bend the pegs out so they wouldn't make contact with the bike on bumps. It's decent though. Better than not having one
Silverton (Silver-Ton)
Ouray (Yer-wray)
God had nothing to do with your collision. God's work is way above and beyond circumstance. Glad you're okay.
You don't drive a motorcycle you ride it lol
All that being said. Buy a bolt, its worth it. I feel like it will run forever.
Also, quit using my exclusive rights music
I got permission first lol
Sorry to interrupt this insane hilarious issue: why on earth would you take your hands of the bike? This is..the most stupid issue i have ever encountered! What about the “death balance” - when you walk on the edge of the roof with your eyes blind folded,ha? Oh! There is a solution, take of the band of your face.
Lol because it shows the bike isn't balanced properly. Your bike should continue straight without a problem.
30k ? That’s nothing. I got a 125 with 48000kms
Somtimes the answer is NO! LOL
I feel you would enjoy Yamaha Tenere 700 a lot more... go and ride it if you get a chance! Stunning bike
That looks like a bike I'd love to have out in Utah!
Strange that americans can get God and/or Jesus included even in a video about motorcycles. Very odd for an European like me.
If you go slower, it gives you more time to react.
Maybe you should rename your bike the Yamaha "Buck" !!! 😄🦌
Haha! I like it
THROTTLE DOWN PROBABLY SAVE U.
I see you don't wave to other bikers...
Haha! I do! I'm conflicted about doing the wave to three wheelers lol
@@globalvagrant1392 i didnt see it was three wheelers lol i feel ya
two finger peace wave counts.. hes good bro :)
why must millennials always included fast-cut inserts with garbage R&B music....
