Good video Chase. I can see this being really helpful for some wanting a Bolt. I feel smarter today knowing stuffs I didn't know yesterday 🤘🏼
Well thanks, me too! Like I said a year ago I didn't even know this motorcycle existed 🤣
Awesome Vid. I have 13,770 miles on my 2019 standard now. Still running it as stock with a Mohawk wind screen, and Talisman leather soft-bags .... Other than that, she needs a bath. Starting to look grey instead of black, lol .. Stay Safe Ciao.
Oh man I never wash mine 🤣. Still has dirt from Texas on it, likely
The Yamaha Bolt is a sweet bike! My first two bikes were a Yamaha V-Star 650 and then I moved up to the Yamaha RoadStar. Well done sir!
Yeah I'm very surprised and pleased with it. A few tweaks are needed, but all bikes are like that I think.
I own a 2014 bolt r spec. My first bike and I do love it. Wishing for 6 speed and a little more power. It’s still pulls well it’s just like anything else get used to the power and want more. Put baron h bars on mine highly recommended them if you won’t want to change brake lines and clutch cables. Awesome bike and cruising around on it is a blast.
A 6 speed on this bike would make it a perfect build platform. I have no idea why yamaha couldn't add that, at least these last couple of years. Even Honda and Harley got with the program.
@@WhiskeyChaser 6 gears may reduce the low-end torque.
@@filoIII that's OK with me honestly, this bike is already a crazy ripper off the line it could sacrifice a few ft lbs
@@WhiskeyChaser It ain't THAT great of low end torque. I'd say a Sportster 1200 is torquier. MT-07 is a crazy rippa
Well it's nothing compared to that but I would say it has a good chance against a 1200. Only one way to know!
Love Yamaha, was what I rode in the 70s. Cool bike for sure. Only 3 or 4 months, looking forward to some great rides. See you then
You know it!
I just bought my first bike and it is a 2014 Bolt, I like it a lot so far.
That's great, they're awesome motorcycles
Practice your braking distance on the bolt
I bought the 2014 bolt R spec new. Nearly 10 years later, the reality is that it is powerful "enough", reliable as anything out there, way smoother than the HD equivalent, and though it doesn't matter I literally get compliments every time I ride it (as recent as last week, which is also the last time I rode it).
It's a killer bike, mines definitely held up to some MAJOR situations
@@WhiskeyChaser Your immediate response just made me a suscriber, thanks bro.
@@JH-qy7zw appreciate it man! I respond to everyone, I will for as long as I can!
Look out you have a cop following you!!! Lol. You stayed so calm and poised to have him behind you for so long. I would have been a nervous wreck constantly watching my mirror's, lol.
🤣🤣🤣 didn't even notice, that's freaking hilarious. They're usually pretty chill unless you're being stupid especially in the city, we're all just trying to get somewhere haha
I have Never seen a Yamaha Bolt on the road or anywhere. Yet I am fixing to buy a 2023 !
Nice! They're getting really popular, and I love mine
I love the idea of having a Bolt as a kick around town kinda bike . I’ll be replacing my Goldwing in a couple years with either a Road Glide or a Challenger, but really like the idea of something sporty to ride back and forth to work .
It's a cool lookin bike with some balls behind it for sure
I have the same bike, and I bought the KOSO instrument you mentioned. I can fully recommend it.
I really want it! Soon enough for sure
Cool video man. Looking forward to seeing you in March at Forgotten Angels. I’m bringing the grom with me for some fun at the camp out. I’m thinking wheelie contest and loser takes a shot. Lol
Hahaha oh geez. Yeah I really hope I can make it, plan on it but depends on whats going on with the weather. When I win my truck it won't matter 🤣
Dude I absolutely love all the mods you’ve done. Your a huge inspiration. The only thing I question is that sprocket swap. Really loving the vids and hope you keep it up. And one more thing… the mods are never done lol
Lol never done. The sprocket is working great, it def helps me squeeze a few more miles per gallon on these long rides
@@WhiskeyChaser does it give you a higher top speed? And totally makes sense with the mpg. And as long as your happy with it that’s all that really matters 👍🏽
@@wildnorthadventures honestly I'm not sure about the top speed, I almost never go over 100 haha. But theoretically it should add a few more mphs
THE WORLD FAMOUS WHISKEY CHASER!!
🤘🤘🤘
I have the 2up seat from Motorcycle Dress-Up on my Bolt. Thats really the only mod I have done but it is well worth it. I think the stock seat sucks. It's really my only complaint on the bike.
The rear of the seat was "ok" but the front sucked. I'm so happy with this seat, I got one for my Dyna now as well and likely will for every bike I ever own. It's 100% the best upgrade for any cruiser style out there
Nice video man! Thanks 🤙🏼
Thanks for watchin!
Great video bro. Thank you for your info good sir
Thanks man!
damn son, that freakin' traffic.....I don't know how you do it...lol with the apes it looks really good....
Yeah you get used to it lol. Still better than the train you know? 🤣 Thanks I appreciate it 🤘🤘🤘
Any issues with the front bearings? I keep hearing about a death wobble. Folks change the bearing out and it solves it. I am wanting buy a new in the near future. Your vid really helped me out on upgrades
I didn't have a wobble really when I got it, but when I put the higher bars on it started happening a tiny bit. I added the hard metal bushings and it helped a lot. Also it really only happened at about 35mph and when I took both hands off the bars, which I rarely do. But I've heard every Bolt is different
its looks cold up there 🥶🥶🥶
It is for you 🤣
@@WhiskeyChaser yea you are right 😂
Hello, thanks for the video, great job. Can you tell me what brake lines did you buy? Thanks
I just got a stainless braided line off Amazon, costs about $15. I got the 4ft one for my 12" bars
Share the helmet buy link, it’s awesome
It's a Biltwell Lanesplitter! I love this thing
Happy New Year.
You too Paul!
bike looks great
Thanks I worked real hard 🤪
Nice video, How is your shifting?, I find my 2020 Bolt difficult (sticky) when shifting up...it's annoying. I don't know if something's wrong or if it's a part of the bike (which I've heard it's an inherent issue...)
Not terrible but yeah its clunky. The thing is that when you're looking at the smallet street bikes you just gotta deal with it. Every sporty I've been on is the same way, even Parkers 21 heritage has a rough shifting issue. Just gotta be real direct with it
@@WhiskeyChaser thanks man, helpful!
great video
🤘🤘🤘
What's your mpg?
Long distance about 120 a tank, in the city about 100 per tank
Yeeeeeeeye
🤘🤘🤘
What helmet are you wearing, looks cool
Currently I have a Biltwell Lanesplitter. I like it, I made an initial thought video on it a little earlier in my vlogging carrier
all those upgrades you'd swear it was a harley lol
Yeah I didn't realize how much I'd done until I made this list. And made put like a thief compared to HD prices 😳
You’ve probably talked about this in the past but how tall are you? Trying to figure out if the bike would be a good fit for me or not.
I'm 5'8. With the forward controls I think it's still tight. But some guys are taller and they love it.
@@WhiskeyChaser is it closer in size to a Sportster or a Dyna?
@@davehowie03 DEFINITELY a sportster. Like a sporty with mids.
@@WhiskeyChaser Oh wow. I just asked your height and was fully expecting you to say 6’1”+.
@@EddieInzauto people kept telling me that at the campout too 🤣
Honestly I don’t know anything about these bikes. I bought mine & it’s been the only one I’m interested in at the moment.I’ve been thinking about a trike.but man bikers have been making their bikes.their own forever,so I say do the same.make it your’s like you want it.
Gotta make it your own, can't run a stock bike forever
@@WhiskeyChaser mine isn’t all stock or all custom either.two things I wish to change is the saddlebags.they’re the zip on zip off kind.& the zippers either doesn’t stay together & the bags fall off.or they just get stuck & won’t come off at all.there is no in between.2nd is the stock solid mag wheels.those things catch a cross breeze so bad.that it will almost take you down.if it’s really windy you’re in for a fight to stay upright.
@@Recycledhooligan man I HATE the stock wheels. I want to put on mags front and back but they're always so expensive
@@WhiskeyChaser bike parts are expensive I’ll agree with that 100% .but in my experience with mags. I don’t think you’ll like them.
@@Recycledhooligan I want the spoked mags, not the solid. I have the solid rear wheel and I hate it. My front is the 21" spoke wheel which I also hate lol
Bike looks good. You do realize that this bike wasn't meant to be a touring or long distance bike right?🙂. 950 is perfect for around town and short runs. If you're looking to up the cc's just get a bigger bike ha. Ya, they are a great bike for day to day.
Yeah I know but I wanted to show that #1 I can be done on a smaller bike and #2 I already have 2 bikes while parking on the streets of NYC so it would be crazy of me to get yet another bigger long distance bike
Lol, I knew you know but just in case 😅. Well, you might have to sell one 😉
@@paleridersteelhorse4923 HOW DARE YOU 🤣
Lol. More power to you cause I know that I would not nor could not ever live in a big city. Not just the parking but, way to many crazy people 😜. Unless of course you're one of those crazy people 🤣🤣
There's so many vids of people taking their bolts on long distance trips, this bike def punches above it's weight class
This video is face, face & more face. Exiting out. Blocking this channel
Lmao ok bud, bye 😂
