When this movie came out me and my wife went to see it. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I was hiding down in the seat at theater because I losing it so much. My wife was laughing at me because I was laughing so hard and trying to hide. Most of the people around me were laughing at me because I was laughing so damn hard. It's about time you got around to this one. 🙂
Two little known facts about the movie:
    1. The actor who played Warren did such a convincing job that there was backlash from the public because they thought the producers/director put a mentally handicapped person through those scenes with the physical violence. (wrestling Ted, Baseball to the eye, chopping people in the throat etc)
    2. The actor who played Tucker is actually British so his British accent was real and his American "Norm" voice is him acting.

I took my cousin to see this. Most of my family lives in Germany and while they all speak fluent English, some stuff get lost in translation, particularly with American pop culture references.
The scene with Brett Farve made the whole theater erupt in laughter, except for my cousin because she didn't know who he was. So I leaned over and whispered, "imagine that's David Beckham," to which she replied, "Oh okay, now I understand."
Oddly enough, this movie is super popular amongst my mom's octogenarian lady friends; they will quote lines from the movie constantly. It's adorable.

The explanation of the dedication at the end of the film 'There's Something About Mary' is that Ryan Mone was a young hockey player from Martha's Vineyard, who died in a car accident at the age of just seventeen in 1998 . The Farrelly brothers, who directed the movie and produced it, are long-term friends of the Mone family and chose to dedicate their film to Ryan as their tribute to his memory.

The thing about Mary is she’s oblivious to her outside beauty! She’s an empath and is sweet and cool and beautiful all at the same time. And then any sibling of a disabled or cognitive impaired brother or sister you’re either be the worst or the best. You’re either going to be embarrassed or love them dearly. And Mary never hid from responsibility and knew she was going to live a life where her brother was her #1 priority. And deep down she was going to gravitate towards someone with her values.😊

Dudes, the scene where he zipped himself up on his franks and beans, I actually did that once. I was about 4 years old and my parents took me to the movies. My mom let me go to the bathroom by myself and I had these pants on with a defective zipper my mother kept having to fixing. So I zipped it up and ah, the skin of the side of my frank got caught in the zipper teeth. OMFG. And worse yet, my mother had to come in and unzip me. I think my father must have been getting the car or something. I have an inch long scar on my frank to this day and I am 64 years old now. It does bring up interesting convo whenever I was with a new girl though. LOL.

Question answered! Lol. Sorry that happened to you! I guess people would just keep trying to unzip the zipper. Ouch!

This, Dumb & Dumber, and Kingpin are the almost neck and neck in terms of comedy to me from the Farrelly brothers. Kingpin was released right between Dumb and Dumber and this movie, and a lot of people just don't realize how funny it is. I think it's because it's about bowling, many people don't give it a chance.

This is one of the funniest movie and it is since my childhood when I watched for the first time, I feeling nostalgic. Despite some scenes that a kid would not understand, but in general I laughed, this was the early 2000s. 🤣

When this movie came out people were DYING from laughter. It was some of the funniest stuff ever at that time. I loved Keith David in this when he brings his wife in to show him the zipper. "Don't worry. She's a dental hygienist, she'll know what to do." That kills me every time. I love this movie so damn much and after this came out you would always hear 'Build Me Up Buttercup' on the radio. The late 90's was an amazing time.

Harold and Maude was a quirky love story that came out in 1971. They filmed part of it on the Boardwalk and the Fisherman's Warf in Santa Cruz, California where I was living as a child at the time. It is truly a classic of it time. The entire musical score was Cat Stevens. Put that on your list for sure

Great reaction! This is right up there with the coolest things I've ever noticed: when Matt Dillion's character talks about The Karate Kid or Harold and Maude (which in fact _is_ one of the best love stories of all time), he must have known that he once starred in another wonderful movie called "My Bodyguard" with Ruth Gordon, none other than the actual "Maude" from Harold and Maude and that the plot of that movie is very similar to The Karate Kid. My Bodyguard, in some ways definitely more realistic than the Karate Kid, is currently freely available on UA-cam and is one that parents will enjoy watching with their kids aged 12 and up.

He loved her so much that he brought Brett Favre back to her ... hoping that THAT would be the best thing for Mary. And giving up his love for her was why he was SO broken & crying as he was walking out the door. Realizing that the most loving thing he could do for her, was to hope that she could be in love & happy - even if it wasn't with him.
