Thanks for posting this - I installed my FS14i yesterday and it was very useful. Yes it’s heavy, two strongish people to carry and slide/box. It you were considering taking up stairs it would be a big job and require 4 to carry. The only issue I have is the balance of the machine requires that you apply consistent pressure oh the handle bars to avoid oscillation that sends the unit into a wobble. It’s fine but takes a little of getting used to. The iFIT application is very good this far and we are happy
So glad I read these comments. We couldn’t get ours unfolded either and were afraid to force it and break it. Once reading through these, it popped right up when we really forced it. Thanks for he help. This should be in the users manual as it’s quite frustrating to not be able to even get through the first step. Lol.
There seems to been quite the variability in how stiff these are being made. I'm glad you were able to get it together. How was the assembly besides the first step?
Fitness Equipment Help... Not together, unfortunately. Because the machine is so stiff, I am not able to get the upper and lower pillars to line up to get the bolts through the holes. Incredibly frustrated. Your video is great and I think if I could get the pillars attached I would have no more issues. :(
My nordic track started lifting up at the upper end of the machine and I have looked through everything I can find but haven't found anyway to fix this
I just put this together. One strap under the right glider seems to be about an inch and a half too long. I filled the instructions and the other glider/strap is perfectly fine. Any idea what I did wrong?
I have not heard of that issue before. I'm not sure what would cause the lower strap to be longer. I have heard of the top belt stretching and tearing. that could cause the safety strap to sit lower. The pedal arm would also sit closer to the crank roller. if this has occurred then you would want a replacement belt. If everything is fine up top a longer safety strap won't be an issue unless it is hitting or rubbing something making a noise that bothers you.
@@KinkKush Hi, there should be a power cord attached to the elliptical or there is a receptacle for a power cord, (depends on where in the world you are). The power cord then should be plugged into an AC mains power outlet. Then turn the power switch to the on/reset position.
I have the FS7i Freestride Trainer. I need to lay it back down to the original shipping position to move it. I have worked backwards on the assembly but I can not get it to lay back down. Is there some release latch that lays it back down?
If yours looks like the one in this video then the one thing i have often forgot to do is remove the plastic covers from step 3. The pillar in step 2 also has to be undone. If you removed the pedal legs make sure the lower upper body arms are not interfering with the floor or the front of the base. if you have done all these steps it may just be really stiff. I have heard the same complaints during the assembly that the uprights were very stiff to set up durring the assembly.
I bought my unit for the Covid pandemic and had it in my dining room. I am now moving all the equipment to a spare bedroom including my Bowflex Revolution. This is too wide to get in the door so I am going to disassemble it and turn it sideways to get it in the bedroom door. Once the plastic pieces are snapped in can they be unsnapped out? It does not look too difficult. Has anyone else disassembled and reassembled?
just be careful as the plastic tabs in the covers have been known to break. they usually come apart without issue but even when doing repairs that require removing the plastic covers the tabs break from time to time.
How do you do a factory reset with the NORDICTRACK - ELLIPTICAL FreeStride Trainer FS9i? There is no reset hole that I can find anywhere into which you can insert a paper clip to reset the machine, unlike other machines.

I’m about to purchase this same unit from someone but we would need to disassemble to move it. Do you think we would be ok to start from where you insert the pedals and work backwards to fold down?
That sounds like what I did when i moved one to my home. The console does not need to be removed if your careful and if you have enough room in your transport vehicle.
My FS10I bounces on the left side. I called customer service and they say this is normal. I do not see the same equipment in ifit videos drinks shake as wildly as mine. Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix?
Same thing happens to me. Left side is very wobbly. I took it apart 2 times and put it back together - thinking I assembled it wrong. But same problems.
when i try to raise the elliptical for the first step in the assembly the entire base comes off the ground. is there some lock that holds it in place for shipping that needs to be undone? i don't see anything locking it down so I am not sure why it wont raise up like in this video
I figured it out. It's easier with 2 or more people but i did it by holding the base down with my left hand while lifting with all my might with my right arm, and it unfolded. It's not easy and you need a lot of force. I called Nordictrack and told them this and they are aware of the issue and are working on fixing. It's not easy but if you can get several people to help, it will unfold. Good luck
I know what you mean. I too was afraid of damaging something and then being stuck with it. Once you get past that step and unfold it, the rest of the assemble is really easy, especially watching this video along with following the instructions
I have the same issue ,I got it all unpacked and the video makes it look easy but i CAN NOT get it to the upright position ,It wont budge at all. After ready that im not the only one with the issue i guess i will have to wait for my husband to get home and help me but im not very patient ,I got a new toy and want to use it.. :)
I only have the shipping specs for this unit. It is 331LBs as shipped so a few pounds lighter after assembly and shedding the packaging. It's pretty heavy.
@@FitnessEquipmentHelp 331 pounds as shipped; I'm looking for the weight of the heaviest part, any idea? Thinking I could move it upstairs in pieces and assemble it in place. There are 2 of us. Feasible? Thanks!
@@HopesAuntieAmy I would think 2 people could move this. If you are purchasing the newer model it is a bit lighter than this older design so should be easier to move.
I have replaced the belt on mine 2 times and have done it for a few other customers. did you have a question or need assistance with the process. (It is lengthy and technical but i think doable for most people who give themselves enough time.)
Anyone disassemble it for moving purposes? I am bringing it upstairs from my basement and want to make it less heavy to carry but also easy to reassemble. Thanks!!
I have moved mine in the disassembled condition shown at the beginning of the video. It is still quite heavy however, but is more compact for moving. I cant think of any "easy" additional disassembly steps.
I need to replace the drive belt on this model NordickTrack Freestride Elliptical machine is the following link the correct video to follow www.nordictrackfitness.com.au/support/elliptical-resistance-issues-style-c/ReplacingTheDriveBeltOnAnEllipticalFrameStyleC
the steps are essentially the same however since the machine is configured differently there are some differences. The plastics are different, you will need to remove the crank axle that runs between the two sides of the unit and the flywheel mech is bolted on differently.
What are the dimensions of the main unit when folded up? I'm trying to figure out if I can get this into my basement. The stairs have a 90 degree turn near the bottom. Basically the pathway is 30 cm wide. I'd have to stand the unit up on it's end to make the left-turn. I have about 190 cm of height.
Do not buy this machine! Nordictrac's customer service is horrible. Trying to get this machine up or downstairs would take bodybuilders. It is so heavy. Seriously...check out reviews on Nordictrac. I don't think I found a single positive review. Unfortunately, this was after I had already purchased and was trying to return it.
The trend lately is definitely toward bigger and heavier home fitness equipment and this product is an example of that. It is good to point out that the shipping weight of the product is over 300 lbs and in the users manual is suggests 2 or 3 people to move it. That being said it is a large, hefty elliptical designed for users up to 400 lbs, and offers an unique but effective workout.
Did you ever find out the dimensions when in full stride? I'm wondering how much room it really takes up. The footprint is published on Norditracks website, but not the overall dimensions with the legs in full stride.
