Climate Change
- Timber bamboo sequesters carbon 5 to 10 times faster than woody trees. A single clump of bamboo can capture 1.78 tonnes/year. Mature culms are harvested annually from the clump. The more the bamboo gets harvested the faster it grows, and the more CO2 it captures. Further, the BamCore nearly hollow wall design enjoys a superior thermal envelope drastically reducing operating energy.
The Building Materials Crisis
- Timber bamboo grows 10 times faster than wood. Once a clump matures (about 7 years) it can be harvested every year. It has greater tensile strength than steel, and greater compressive strength than concrete.
The Skilled Labor Shortage Crisis
- Our patented prefabricated framing solution arrives at the job site with every door, window, outlet, and access panel cut to millimeter accuracy. Each panel is numbered and has MEP lines and a nail pattern drawn on it. A crew of two apprentice laborers and one skilled labor can easily erect the walls, and in half the time of a skilled crew building the traditional way.
Global Rural Poverty
- The sustainable cultivation of timber bamboo on marginal lands provides a healthy income in poverty-stricken areas. And captures carbon faster than any other natural resource.
