I've just started planting Bamboo to learn how to craft it. I think it's fantastic, good for the environment, sustainable and takes carbon out of the air and stores it. I think the most ancient of crafts could be the thing of the future. Cheers J
I am DETERMINED to have Bamboo on my property! I LOVE BAMBOO! After watching MANY videos on how to plant it, I came across this one. The best! THANK YOU
Thanks a lot Jon! You inspires me to continue propagating bamboo. I am from Philippine... In my try to help preserve our environment, I already... now has 4 variety of bamboo. Hold on and keep on Jon...
Thanks Jon, thant was awesome massage and to encourage the young people to know the relationship between hunger and to leave peaceful. Start this year I will plant bamboo in my garden.
The roots of bamboo travel 8 inches under the surface. Dig a trench around your bamboo and put a sheet of metal barrier. Like an edging that is 12 inches deep to keep the bamboo from spreading all over. Bamboo is considered to be invasive and hard to control.
If the running bamboo yes I agree with you it is hard to control for the people who don't know what they are doing but if clumping bamboo will be fine normally spread around 2m. A lot of people try to use bamboo for border or blocking of the neighbour and they seem to plant it too close to the fence so your idea to put the barrier is great and it does work as I recommend to my customers.
Bamboo is really an incredible plant, a source of food, a strong building material. I once visited a Botanical garden in Georgia, USA. Seems they were testing out bamboo in their climate.
Lovely video again. Thank you. Building a roof with bamboo... how?... and what other things? I once saw a bicycle made of bamboo!!! So interesting. Hello from South Africa. Always thrilled to see new video.

Bamboo grows much better with tropical climate like Thailand but in America, there are limited type of bamboo that will grow in certain area due to fluctuation of climate. I believe what you have here is the "clumper" and not the "runner" type of bamboo. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely! I wish I had at least a small piece of land to call my own, so I would be able to grow bamboo there. Thanks for the information anyways, it was very interesting and complete. Thanks again!
New subscriber, Really lovely video full of so much history, Culture and story I only wish I could have tasted the dishes cooked in so many different ways, its only through sharing culture around the world that we can truly be united for the good of all people. We have lost so much in the modern world and in many ways gained so little, I have just started my own journey into Bamboo in Australia in buying a Farm growing many varieties. I look forward to so many new experiences with these amazing plants. Thank you for making such an amazing video and sharing so much. Cheers Garry
💙 *Bamboo!* Is such a versatile plant, the silica within makes it such a durable natural material, it grows so quickly, and it's aesthetically beautiful.
which bamboo is good to use for building to last up to 40 years? or which ones are not so good? Thanks if you could advise on the varieties for clumping bamboos to eat, to build housing or rafts with? thank-you if you can help.
Thank you so much for showing how to grow them bamboo. They are pretty much like growing sugarcane. But one thing I don't understand is how the Chinese grown there's bamboo 1meter - 2meters a part without any other bamboo shoot growing near or next to it like in the movies. When I was growing up in Cambodia they grow around each other.
Feel so excited when listening talk on bamboo.I have some varieties growing well in my home .at sunset and moon-lit nights bamboo silhoute beautiful sights.Thank you for sharing
Jon, can you help with more details on the type of invest that goes into organic bamboo cultivation? I agree with your thoughts on how bamboo was an integral part of our lives. I strongly believe mass cultivation and utilisation of bamboo can end deforestation and give farmers a lucrative market with minimal or no losses
Thank you bro.for sharing your knowledge about the bamboo.I learned a lot and you explained it very well.Hope to see more video of bamboo from you soon thanks a lot.
Thanks for this simple and informative video. Please, how can I get the Moso gaint Bamboo Seed. I intend to plant here in Nigeria. This is because the species in Nigeria are not as big and straight as Moso Bamboo found in Asia.

Bamboo is such a wonderful plant! Thanks a lot for the great information through the video. In Northern India, Hindus tie bamboo flags to honour Lord Hanuman on Ram Navami (Lord Ram's birthday) Whoever invented this must have been very farsighted. These sentinels of nature need to be conserved for future generations as human survival on Earth is linked to their existence.
Every piece of your video clip is educational , nature-friendly , enviromental preservating. feel very pleased with the agenda you put to public attention.hope will gain worldwide supportors and followers of nature lovers in big numbers.🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍❤❤
I love Baboo dishes. I have one question. Do you use freshly cut bamboo or slice them and soak it water for two days.? We make it slice, soak into water for at least 3-4days and then use it as normal vegitable. But you.!? Can you clarify it please.? And please make video on traditional Thai bamboo dishes.
*Jon Jandai Life is Easy* Sir, Please make a detail video on how and what tools you are using at 12:06 and 12:18 in video. I am really interested in trying this method of slicing bamboo shoots. Thank you ❤️✌️
Loved your video . I had to watch it again. Priceless information. Can you perhaps make a video on how to make a bamboo large drying mat ? Thank you regardless 🌸
Thanks for the info. Would the bambop survive a cold winter in North America ? We had a few days 4-26ndegrees .Not usual for North Georia but could happen, Thanks Mike
I am thinking of growing fence post maybe 8 foot inside dig hole 3 foot deep transplanting with roots undisturbed.. Will it kill the bamboo or will it act like tomato plants and grow roots from where branches were? Hypothetical air layering them first leave the rootballs on the trunk and have second branche near tips been attempted?
Need more information like what should be the distance between the 2 while planting and also once it is chopped will the New plant grows on the same branch?
I've just started planting Bamboo to learn how to craft it. I think it's fantastic, good for the environment, sustainable and takes carbon out of the air and stores it. I think the most ancient of crafts could be the thing of the future. Cheers J

Or you can just get clumping bamboo that doesn’t spread.
I really don’t understand why bamboo is not used more. Why do we use plastic spoon and fork etc. why not make these items from bamboo
