Just returned from 10 days in Egypt, using Cairo International. I did try to buy four visas online before we left, but I can confirm that the online site is very clunky and not particularly easy to use. Eventually, I gave up and purchased visas on arrival at Cairo International. Upon entering the arrivals hall, the first bank did indeed have a long queue, but I just walked past that into the main hall where there were at least four more banks. I simply chose the shortest line and four visas took about two minutes.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m glad you had an easy experience with the visa upon arrival, and I’m glad you did the trick of not waiting in the bank that had a queue, but walked to the one with a short/no line. Cheers!
Hi, we are flying to Egypt in January next year. Thank you so much for this great information. You answered so many of my questions, and gave me peace of mind. So looking forward to our trip. Many thanks.
It’s my pleasure! Have a great trip.
Oh my, thank you so much! What a wonderfully helpful and reassuring video! I was told by my tour company to go to the Egyptian embassy website and get my tourist visa ahead of time to avoid lines upon arrival. The instructions on the Egyptian Consolate website in LA, were to print and fill out a tourist visa application, then send my passport, extra photos, copies, etc. and my driver's license as well as proof of a round trip ticket to them in Los Angeles with express mail return. Well, I don't have a round trip ticket. I have a flight to Egypt and from there will go to Europe and fly home from there. Because it says specifically "round trip", I was worried, but there were no FAQ's to clarify. My flights are in 30 days and I became very insecure about complications with getting my visa, as well as getting my passport back in time. I canceled my flights and was about to make completely different plans for my vacation until I found your video! Thank you!! Super helpful! I'm going to share this information with my tour company, and repurchase my flights.
I’m glad that this video was helpful! I hope you have an awesome time in Egypt. For folks with a US passport, I always recommend just getting the visa upon arrival. $25 USD, super easy. Have a great trip!
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel I'm going to do just that, based on your recommendation. Thanks again for this helpful video!
Hi, i am so glad that i found your video, travelling to Egypt for the first time in November. I never had to worry about getting a visa before, i was getting really worried about applying online, but I didn't understand about uploading passports and making sure it's the right size. I'm not very good with technology, I'm going on a cruise up the nile for seven days. I haven't been abroad for a very long time. So your video has been really helpful. But now I've got a really silly question where do we go once we have got the visa's from the bank teller? Is it to passport control? Then, find a representative .
You’ll have to ask your tour company where your rep will be, since they will set that up.
But once you have the visa, just follow the flow of people to the passport control line, where an Egyptian officer will check your passport and put in the visa and stamp it.
Have a great trip!
I watched a previous video of yours and went past the 1st bank line last March. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Walked to Le Meridien.
Awesome! I’m glad you were able to do both of those things 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Thanks for sharing!
I'm going to Cairo in 2 months time and this video was really helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Have a great trip.
Thanks for the great advice! I'll be there next year.
Have a great trip!
Thank you for the amazing video! I was wondering if we’d need to have recent passport size photos to purchase the visa on arrival?
Nope! Just your passport and $25 USD cash or euros or GBP.
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel thank you!
Thanks for the info!, Is it true that the tourist visa
extension requests are currently not being accepted? Or this is just affecting the refugees who have been living there for many years? For About How long do they keep accepting tourist visa renewal requests? (12/6/3/1 months)
I’m not sure-haven’t heard they aren’t accepting extension requests. Does anyone have evidence confirming this?
Hi, I am a UAE resident with Indian passport, do I need to apply for Evisa or I can get VOA at the airport itself? Thanks for the awesome video
My pleasure! For that question, you’ll need to reach out to the Egyptian embassy or consulate where you live and see what they say. My guess is that you’ll need to apply for a visa at the embassy in advance. Best of luck!
We are booked on a cruise for Oct. 2025 that docks in Alexandria for multiple days. Do we need a visa as cruise passengers to visit Cairo and other sites? Thanks so much for your work and time - I appreciate all your videos.
Hi there, great question! I’d ask this first to your travel agent you booked the cruise through, or the cruise line directly. When you hear from them, I’d love a comment back letting us know what you learn!
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Thanks so much for the reply! I did reach out to the cruise company. They said that the crew will collect all passenger passports while on the cruise ship. They will place the sticker visa in the passport and passengers will pick them up on their way off the ship for their first port in Egypt. I guess the passport fee is included in the cruise fare. Thanks again for the great content!
@@michaelfridgen2812 great, so it sounds like you do need the visa even if you’re visiting on a cruise excursion, but that your company will take care of it. Thanks for getting back to us!
If you are a non Saudi traveling from Saudia but you have Saudi Iqama, do you need visa?
I’m not sure-this would be a question for the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate in Saudi Arabia. Best of luck and let us know what they say!
Hi Gus, I'm from Argentina and i have a question,in November I'm going to Egypt from Jordan, exactly from Aqaba to Nuweibaa by ferry. I researched a lot and I kind of figured out that in Nuweibaa you can get the visa upon arrival. I know I can get the e-visa but I want that pretty sticker in my passport so I want to be sure if I can get the visa upon arrival in Nuweibaa, I asked many people and not many knows that for sure, thank you
Hey, thanks for checking! I wouldn’t see why not, but let me double check and see.
Hi I just wanted to check. Do you need to bring passport photos and any application form for the visa upon arrival or is it just the money ? Thanks
No passport photos needed, just the $25 USD cash 💪🏼
As I have valid Schengen visa and as Bangladeshi can I get on arrival visa at Cairo Airport?
I’m not sure-this is a question you’d need to ask the Egyptian embassy or consulate nearest you. Sorry I can’t help more!
Hi I am an Indian Passport Holder with American Green Card. Can I still get a VOA? Appreciate the useful details in your video. Thanks.
That would be a great questions for the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate-you’ll need to call, email, or visit the one nearest you 👍🏼
Great Video- regarding entering Egypt - Does the goverment require the Yellow Fever vaccine certificate? Im from Central America visting Egypt this coming December 2024, God willing. Would appreciate your help.
It depends-what country are you coming from?
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Thanks , Iam from Costa Rica and intend to visit Egypt in Dec 2024 and I will be traveling to Brazil in October 2024.
Hi we are lucky to be going to Egypt in late September could you tell which museum is the gold mask of king Tutankhamen thanks thanku for all your tips
Awesome! It’s currently still at the original Egyptian Museum (old museum) in Tahrir Square. We are not sure when it’ll move to the GEM, but if you’re on my email list, I’ll send any email updates to my subscribers. I’m excited for your trip!

Need your help
can l only travel Egypt with my US passport only
And get the visa in Cairo airport
Do l need visa if lam transit layover Egypt for 18 hours .
If you are staying airside (you are flying on one ticket, with the same booking, and do not need to switch terminals or check into a different flight), then you don’t need a visa. However, I don’t know if 18 hours is allowed. Why wouldn’t you just pay $25 to exit the airport, instead of staying cooped up there for 18 hours?
Does anyone know if 18 hours is beyond the maximum for staying airside?
Thanks!
Thanks Much GUS, is eSIM available now in Egypt?
Could you please make a small video abou eSim availability in Egypt . Thank you again
Yes, eSIM is available. Ok, adding it to the list of videos to make! For now, you can check Airalo (that’s the company I use for eSIM).
Hey bud... I'm planning to visit Cairo in late November and have heard/seen that US citizens are not getting visa on arrival at the airport, is it true? Thanks for your info.
U.S. citizens can get a visa upon arrival. What source is saying they cannot? I saw a random visa (for profit) website saying this so they can take people’s money for an expensive service fee where they get the e-visa for you, but according to the US government and Egyptian government, U.S. passport holders still get the visa upon arrival 👍🏼
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel thanks 🙏, now I'm relieved 😌
If you are from Canada, can you get a visa on arrival or a visa online or do you have to go to the embassy to get it
Canadian passport holders are no longer able to get the visa upon arrival, nor online-it must be applied for with the Egyptian Embassy. I wish it were easier! Hopefully it’ll change back soon.
Hello thanks for your support..
Do you know is a Bénin passport can obtain visa on arrival at Cairo airport?
Not that I know of-this would be a good question for your Egyptian Consulate or Embassy to see how you can get a visa.
Indians passport holders are eligible for visa on arrival.
Would have been interesting to hear about free visa stop over program by egypt air.
Last I heard, Indian passport holders were not eligible for Visa upon arrival, so if this has changed, that’s great news. Have you traveled to Egypt recently and gotten the visa upon arrival?
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel i am planning to go this fall.
@@chikmadphik awesome! What’s the source that told you Indian passport holders get visa upon arrival now (and not the e-visa like what the requirement used to be)? I’d love to read more.
You can pay in Hurgada and Sharm with Egyptian pounds
Thanks for sharing that! Have you done this yourself multiple times, or just once? When was the last time you paid in EGP instead of foreign currency? Thank you!
Hello, I am Tunisian passport holder, I live and work in England under eu settlement scheme, I want to visit Egypt next December probably sharm sheick, what type of visa I need to do from uk or in airport on arrival???
For that question, I recommend asking the Egyptian consulate or embassy where you live-they can give you the best answer. Best of luck!
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel I know but unfortunately they are not answering any calls
My wife is a US green card holder, can she get a visa on arrival at cairo?
I’m not sure-you’ll want to check with the U.S. consulate or embassy nearest you.
I bought my online for $25, took about 3 days.
I’m glad it worked!
Which website did you use?
@@muhammedaliyalcin5367 only use the official government one: visa2egypt.gov.eg

Hi thank you for sharing u great experience.could u let me more about 5 years visa on arrival .what documents needed .is it same as 30 days visa?
I’ve never heard of a 5-year visa upon arrival, so this would be a great question for the Egyptian Embassy or Consulate nearest you. Best of luck!
i believe it is multi entry visa 90 days max stay cost 700 dollars .i am not sure if u can buy it from bank as ,$25 one
Hello... I'm planning for trip to Egypt. I'm from India.... Can I get a visa through link you shared in the description.... Like for E-Visa..
Hi there, you’ll need to go to the website and check-it will list all eligible countries. If India is not listed, you’ll need to check the Egyptian embassy or consulate nearest you or check online to see if the Egyptian Embassy in India has instructions, or if the Indian government’s state department has instructions on obtaining a visa.
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel Thank you
What is wrong with one $ bills? Can i do $20 and then five ones or should I make sure that I have one $20 and one $5 bill for the visa?
In Egypt, $1 bills cannot be exchanged at a foreign currency exchange, and banks will not accept them, so I always advise against bringing them or trying to use them.
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel i didn't know that. Thank you for the info!
My pleasure-happy to help!
Hello I am a 66years old lady from Sweden. I would like to go to Sharm el Sheikh and stay for 2 months. I heard that I can get visa upon arriwal for 40 us dollars. Is it right? Thank you.
The visa upon arrival is $25 USD, but it’s only good for 4 weeks, with a 2 week grace period, so if you stay for 2 months, you’ll have to renew your tourist visa in Sharm at the government office there. Best of luck!
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel thank you but finally I got a contact with the Egyptian consulate and they told me that I can buy longer visa at the airport because I am over 60 y of age and from Sweden.
@@bengtina oh, great! I didn’t know that was an option. It’s always the best idea to contact the Egyptian Embassy/consulate, so I’m glad you did that.
Have a great trip to Egypt!
@@EgyptAdventuresTravel do you have any representant in Sharm and in that case could I get the phone nr ?
@@bengtina I’m not sure what you mean-what type of representative? Like a meet-and-assist service at the airport? If that’s what you’re asking about, you can send me an email. Thanks!

No-you’ll need to get it in advance.
