First, thank you for your visit to our country, you learned about the most popular things about our beautiful country, but to be honest, each of the 16 regions of Chile has beautiful postcards, I currently live in the Maule region which has hot springs, waterfalls, beautiful rivers, long beaches on the coast, snow in its beautiful mountains and the best wines of Chile. It is the region that, in my opinion, best preserves the typical traditions of Chile. Greetings and much success in your next trips.
I grew up in the desert in the north of Chile and I hated it so much, I found it so boring with no plants, the grey landscape made me sad. I just wanted to say that seeing you guys enjoying it so much and appreciating the little things like the pieces of salt is somehow healing :) I'm very happy you loved my beautiful country 💜
Daw that’s so fun!!! And yes I totally understand. But what a beautiful place! Glad we could rekindle a little of that sense of excitement in you hopefully! 🙏 cheers and thanks for watching our video! 🥰
@@WyattandReyka Check Torres del Paine, its truly wonderful! I didn't see it personally, but when we were in a van to Cajon del Maipo (another wonderful place, close to Santiago) we found a czech couple hiking, offered them a lift and found out they've taken a sabbatical year to travel, and been hicking all the way up from Patagonia in the last 2 months. They showed the pictures and videos and it was incredible, including an iceberg collapsing they caught on camera.
That's awesome!! They sound like a nice, adventurous couple! Haha. We'd love to spend a year in one place, but at the same time the rest of the world calls us. We are heading to Hawaii, Australia, and Hong Kong in about a week! Cannot wait! But for sure, next time we will not miss Torres del Paine or the Austral Route. Cheers and thanks for sharing so many fun stories here in the comments! 🥰
@@WyattandReyka Do it while you are young, the Carretera Austral is 1,240 kms. ! I drove over here some years ago, and it's truly amazing, you feel like in any moment a dinosaur will come out from the jungle, if I'm not mistaken, the only cold jungle in the world.
A fun fact about Atacama: If you felt you were happier in the desert it's probably because it's flooded with lithium (Chile is the 2nd country with the most lithium in the world). Lithium is one of the main components for the medication for depression
those statues of men with white and red colors and weird head shapes in punta arenas are actually statues of the southernmost native americans before the spanish arrived. you should have traveled to penguin island, torrest del paine or visit a glaciar grey, all are amazing places very close to punta arenas,
@@WyattandReyka And don't miss the Lakes & Volcanoes District (where I live) and the Carretera Austral (Route 7)!🌋I'm sure you guys will love it! Best of luck in your next adventure :)
@@WyattandReyka Maybe split or come for more time, we have thousands of kilometers of amazing geography. You would love the desert going more to the north, where there are no cactus, nothing. Iquique is amazing, if you spend enough time in the desert, you begin to see lots of different colors at the mountains, that at first you didn't notice. And, of course, the Salitreras, ghost towns, like Humberstone. From Santiago to the south, the Región de Los Ríos (region of rivers) and Región de los Lagos (Region of lakes) are very, very beautiful, with their own architecture, food, etc. Chiloé is like another country.
For the next trip, come here where I live in 'Lolol,' a commune where the Santa Cruz vineyard is located, in the Chilean wine region. I can provide accommodation and give you a tour of the area in the Sixth Region of Chile.
Regarding the animals, in Chile we have 4 different kind of camelids: the guanacos in the south, llamas, alpacas and vicuñas in the North. I am very glad u liked our country u seem a very nice and adventurous couple 🙌🏻
One of the things I like about my country is that you can go camping anywhere and there is no problem with poisonous insects or dangerous animals because there is nothing like that here, like snakes or bears.
That's so awesome!! We are headed to Australia soon and we are TERRIFIED of the snakes/spiders they have there. Hopefully we'll survive to live another day 🥰
@@WyattandReyka We have only two dangerous spiders, the most deadly is the araña del rincón (corner spider). They live as their name, in corners, dark ones, like inside closets, so you will not see one of those in a camping site. The other thing that can be dangerous is the hanta virus, which is transmitted by a certain mouse that lives in the south of Chile. To prevent catching that virus, always open windows, doors, etc., once you enter a place that's been closed for a while. Other than that, we don't have any dangerous animals or insects. Our snakes are truly Chilean: friendly 😂
What a wonderful video, thank you guys! It's like going with you. I got very impressed with Rapanui, because was there almost a month in 2007, and it has changed a lot. Hanga Roa is a lot bigger, more souvenir shops, hotels, etc. Maybe you could give tourists certain tips, like when you travel to an island (specially Rapanui because it's so far away) try to not use the hair dryer or an iron because the electricity can not be enough for the whole island, specially in February when they have their Festival, the Tapati. In those days the island duplicates the amount of people, therefore, lots of garbage, etc. It's fragil. Basically, be respectful, which we always should be. I remember when being there, that they didn't have a solution for old car tires, etc., that there is no way to ged rid of, except sending garbage back to the continent. Anyway, I loved your video and subscribed, you guys will keep doing great! PS: Please use a lot of sunscreen wherever you go in Chile. Sun over here is dangerous. PS2: There es a reason why they close early a lot of places in Atacama Desert. It's because if you get stuck in the desert because your car broke, you can actually freeze at nighttime. There are many parts with no cel phone signal, so you can be alone a while before getting help. And, because the people who work there live far away. The desert has it's own time. Hugs from Chile.
Thank you so much for such an amazing message! 🥰 We so appreciate you responding to the different parts of our video. And yes! Next time we would love to visit the tire garbage in Easter Island, as well as share some more tips on how to get the most out of a particular place. You are so sweet and we can't thank you enough for sharing your thoughts with us. It was a joy for us to read. And yes! We wear lots of sunscreen now after getting so badly burned in the desert. Haha
@@WyattandReyka As I was seeing the video when you where in San Pedro, I kept waiting to see you guys use sun screen and thinking "OMG these guys are going to get burned", specially when you fell asleep. But sure enough, you learned the lesson.BTW, Anakena isn't the only beach at Rapanui, but is is the tourists beach. Rapanuis have there "secret" beach where you go when the locals invite you LOL. Then you get to see how everybody knows each other, and the sense of community they have. You got right on spot speaking about how expensive it is too. That's because everything except the fish and a few other things has to be brought by ship. And... sometimes when there are storms and ships get delayed, it is possible you go there and there isn't any gas or toilet paper. 😂
Tip: If anyone reading this don't have the chance to go to Easter Island (which is very far) you can see a real Moai in Viña del Mar (which is 30min drive from Santiago). They brought a real one from the island to the museum there.
hallula is just bread 😅, in chile most of people eat bread everyday is like the thing we eat... some country make fun of chilean's love for bread but is for a reason, that bread taste really good in chile

well, you just stayed in san pedro, if you come a 2nd time don't waste your time in that ultra expensive town because there are a LOT of places around the 2nd Region, and they are WAAAAY BETTER. You can travel through Chiu Chiu, Ayquina, Caspana, Taira Valley, the Ascotan Salt Flat, Chug-Chug geoglyphs. Alto El Loa, etc.

Chile is wonderful. Despite the pickpocketeers, its super safe. As a brazilian, I never thought I'd be walking in a 5mi habitants city at 3am like I did in Santiago. Also very clean, except for the leftists vandalizing historical monuments, burning churches and metro, or doing graffitti the classical buildings in general. And I found Santiago somewhat cheaper than my little countryside town. If they had gun laws and lower taxes like Paraguay, Chile would definitely be my first choice of country. I always dreamed of living in a small vinyeard close to hikeable snowy mountains..like the ones we see on our way to Viña del Mar, which is the bonus as I'd also be living 30min from the beach (with freezing water, unfortunately, but somewhat swimable). And then the desert and the beautiful Torres del Paine which I plan to visit the next time I go there. And last but not least, the PEOPLE! Chileans were super friendly, and measured no efforts to help us when we went there, from things like helping lost tourists to making sure we left the building in safety during the earthquake we went through on our first day there.
@@WyattandReyka It was fun: we arrived, went to grocery, new dumb law prohibited more than 2 plastic bags. We shoved everything in them and the handle + weight made carrying it through 4 blocks too heavy for my wrists, so my hands were shaky for the next 15min...didn't notice a thing until mom came screaming saying her bed was shaking and someone knocked on our AirBnB door to say we should bail ASAP, 11th floor, can't use elevators in this situation. It was a strong 6.7 Richter scale, I think it's called "Coquimbo Earthquake". 2 people died (but not in Santiago) and it was international news, so you can imagine how my dad was worried sick when he saw it on the brazilian news, as earthquakes are totally alien for us.
That's a crazy story!! At the same time we want to experience an earthquake because it would be awesome but we're also generally scared of dying lololol. Cheers thanks for sharing! Hope you enjoyed our Chile/Brazil series! 🥰
@@WyattandReyka I did enjoy the series and I'm following your travels as time allows, but don't worry about the earthquake; it's nothing special, being close to a heavy cargo train, the ground shakes somewhat the same. Just don't be like those people who try to take selfies near one and become yet another sad youtube videe. The fool here once almost got split in half by a broken iron ladder hanging from the side of one of the wagons by mere seconds, then learned to never assume you know what's coming your way. Come back soon!! ❤Thank you for your beautiful words about my country, you are a lovely couple! Safe travels guys 🥰
It is our pleasure! What an amazing country! 🥰
Your Rapa Nui video is magnificent !!!
Thank you so much!!! 🤗🥰
Thanx for your visit!!! We love to show off our peeps and places…
Our pleasure! 🥰🤗
Thanks for visiting and good luck in your next trip 💙
Thank you! We appreciate you! 🥰
Guys, if you think you have seen the most amazing thing about Chile, you should go south and you will see the most beautiful landscapes in the world🌞🌈
We want to hike in Chilean Patagonia very badly! 🥰👍
That sounds so awesome!! Hope we can visit it someday!!
A fun fact about Atacama: If you felt you were happier in the desert it's probably because it's flooded with lithium (Chile is the 2nd country with the most lithium in the world). Lithium is one of the main components for the medication for depression
So cool!!! Maybe THAT'S why we had such a good time hahahaha. Cheers and thanks for sharing! Hope you enjoyed the video! 🥰
Eastern Island it´s a paradaise to dive.. The visibility under sea surface is 50 meters
Next time!!! 🤗🥰 sad we missed it sounds amazing
Lindos videos !! Ojala vuelvan nuevamente... Hay muchos lugares mas que conocer !! Pucon , puerto varas , Iquique, etc etc ... saludos!!
Gracias!! 🙏 Sí la próxima vez vamos a conocer mucho más
marvelous video, thanks for visiting!
Our pleasure!!! Thank you so much we are so glad you enjoyed!! 🥰👍
Thanks for visit my country❤️🇨🇱
Our absolute pleasure!! 🥰🇨🇱
Chile is a wonderful country
It really is! 🥰👍
those statues of men with white and red colors and weird head shapes in punta arenas are actually statues of the southernmost native americans before the spanish arrived. you should have traveled to penguin island, torrest del paine or visit a glaciar grey, all are amazing places very close to punta arenas,
Oh that’s amazing thank you so much for sharing!! We had no idea. Cheers and hope you enjoyed the video 🤗🥰
Good job, guys 🎉
I really hope that you can visit Los Lagos Region and some vineyards next time ❤
Us too!!! Still lots of places to explore 🥰
Thanks for visiting Chile 😁
It was truly our pleasure!! 🥰
you should visit torres del paine some day :)
We want to next time! 🥰
@@WyattandReyka And don't miss the Lakes & Volcanoes District (where I live) and the Carretera Austral (Route 7)!🌋I'm sure you guys will love it! Best of luck in your next adventure :)
@@nicolasespinoza712 thank you friend!!! We will add those to our list for next time 🥰🤗
@@WyattandReyka Maybe split or come for more time, we have thousands of kilometers of amazing geography.
I just found your channel! Glad you liked Chile
Awesome so glad to have you here!! Chile was great. We definitely missed a lot but hope to come back soon 👍🥰
Great video, I like your enjoyed your visit to Chile. Come back soon.😁
Thank you so much!! 🤗🥰 we really appreciate it
For the next trip, come here where I live in 'Lolol,' a commune where the Santa Cruz vineyard is located, in the Chilean wine region. I can provide accommodation and give you a tour of the area in the Sixth Region of Chile.
When we come back to Chile, we will contact you!! That sounds amazing. Thank you! 🥰🤗
Regarding the animals, in Chile we have 4 different kind of camelids: the guanacos in the south, llamas, alpacas and vicuñas in the North. I am very glad u liked our country u seem a very nice and adventurous couple 🙌🏻
That’s awesome!! So many types of Camelids. Hopefully we can come back soon and befriend a llama! 😂👍🥰
@@WyattandReyka Yeah, but careful with the guanacos, they spit!
Haha will do!!!
Hermoso viaje, deben volver, les faltó mucho por conocer: La Serena, Valle del Elqui, Valparaíso y viña del mar, Valdivia, Pucón, isla de Chiloe
Claro. Mucho más para conocer 👍🥰
Hope you enjoyed and had fun. Love Punta Arenas. lived 4 years and my son live there with his family.
Enjoyed a ton! It was a blast ☺️🥰
That’s cool your son lives there!
@@WyattandReyka Yes. and I am very happy for him. Good luck.
Glad that you did not get robbed ❤
Us too 😂😂
Wonderful video..!! Thanks for visit my country. Chile is amazing..!! Congratulations..!!
Thank you so much!!! It was our pleasure ☺️🥰
Gracias por el lindo reflejo de nuestra patria
Gracias!! Nuestra placer!!! 🥰🥰
Tip: If anyone reading this don't have the chance to go to Easter Island (which is very far) you can see a real Moai in Viña del Mar (which is 30min drive from Santiago). They brought a real one from the island to the museum there.
That’s great to know!! Don’t need to fly all the way to rapa nui
Glad you liked my beautiful country. And hallullas no are "a kind of bread", they ARE BREAD, 😁😁. A lot of hugs for you both from Oslo, 🥰🌹🥰.

hallula is just bread 😅, in chile most of people eat bread everyday is like the thing we eat... some country make fun of chilean's love for bread but is for a reason, that bread taste really good in chile
Hahaha hallula was good! Saw people eating it everywhere lol
"They have to go to Puerto Williams, the most remote place in the world, located in Chile, further south than Punta Arenas."
We saw puerto Williams! But from a distance across the beagle channel in Argentina. It looked fun, but very small, haha! 🤩
Cuando vuelvan deben recorrer la carretera austral
Si lo quisimos hacer pero tuvimos que salir 😢 la próxima vez 👍
Dulces de la Ligua would've been great and they're really chilean.

Pear or alcayota (pumpkin) empanadas are better !!. In Punta Arenas buy chocolade, by Kilograms. The city was colonized by croacians

well, you just stayed in san pedro, if you come a 2nd time don't waste your time in that ultra expensive town because there are a LOT of places around the 2nd Region, and they are WAAAAY BETTER. You can travel through Chiu Chiu, Ayquina, Caspana, Taira Valley, the Ascotan Salt Flat, Chug-Chug geoglyphs. Alto El Loa, etc.
Amazing to know!! We’ll explore one of those other towns next time 🤗🥰

I love your fleece jacket Reyka could you tell me the name of it? Lovely vlog! Enjoyed it very much!
Daw thank you so much!! ❤️ You are so sweet! It's a Patagonia Fleece jacket I got many years ago. I'm honestly not quite sure the specific type beyond that. Hope that helps! Let me know if you can't find it and I'll look more into what type exactly it is. 🥰
PETE SAMPRAS BUEN VIAJE
jaja gracias.
Thanks for sharing!! 👍 crazy you guys were there during an earthquake! 😳
Be safe and happy trails!
@@samirSch Amazing feedback!! And yeah haha we are always trying to avoid being "those tourists" that you hear about on TV doing something idiotic lol. Thanks and cheers 🥰
The way most chileans can’t afford to go to Rapa Nui and haven’t been there, and probably never will 😢💔
It’s similar to Hawaii in the U.S. so expensive compared to rest of the country.
Probaron la pasta base en Valparaiso??
No lo probamos pero queríamos probarlo!! 👍🤗
Santiago has 8.42 millions of people in 2024
Oof that’s our bad! Should’ve doubled checked with multiple sources on that one

Do you know why flamingos have pink legs ? It´s quite interesting.....
Haha no clue!! Why do they?
The pink color results from the carotenoids (pigments synthesized by plants) found in the microscopic algae that brine shrimp eat and which flamingos dine on.🦩🦩
Very fascinating thank you for sharing 🥰👍
@@WyattandReyka According to the Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga in his book Cuentos de la Selva (Jungle´s stories), he explains in a story that in the jungle a party was organized and the flamingos were invited, they decided to wear stockings to look more beautiful, and they bought snake skins from a merchant. The vipers at the party realized that the flamingos were wearing their sisters' legs as stockings and were furious, to take revenge they spent the whole party biting the flamingos' legs, and that's why the flamingos have red legs.

Minute 14:15 Dick Van Dyke at Walt Disneys movie Mary Poppins.
Haha that nice guy was dick van dyke??
@@WyattandReyka It's not about the Dutch actor, it's about his role in the film. Many Chileans believe that the art of making street music by dancing with a bass drum on one's back is something that the «chinchineros» in Chile invented. But in Mary Poppins' film, it is clear that it was also seen on the streets of England in times past.
