Next time visit Cali... the weather is always good and the city's atmosphere is of fiesta and dance... if you like trees, Cali has amazing trees and nearby nature reserves. Neighbourhoods are filled with mango trees, weeping willows, rubber trees and tall palm trees...and thousands of flowers and exotic plants... you can go there to the south to Pance and be surrounded by jungle and mountains while enjoying a refreshing dip in the water and waterfalls... in most hostels they have salsa dance lessons and dance sessions, and the food in the city is a mix between pacific and andes cuisine with an international twist... in December, between the 25th and 30th you can enjoy the Feria de Cali with the whole city becoming a non-stop salsa, music and food festivity... unmissable! Buñuelos are also my favourites...specially in Xmas time... them and a good pandebono with an Oatmilk drink is just the bomb!

@@WyattandReyka What you guys saw was not a parade, i'm afraid. It was a strike. It is very common that on labor day, several guilds including teacher associations protest their working conditions. Now, my understanding (It was prior to my time) is that M-19 was a guerilla that operated in the 80's and was mostly integrated by students with a leftist political affiliation. Their greatest exploit was to take the Palace of Justice that you just visited, and to steal Simon Bolivar's sword. Limit being out at night as much as possible. Chances of being a victim of a crime probably increase 10 fold when it’s dark. This isn’t for everybody, but we don’t drink while traveling. It costs money, makes us tired the next day, and we feel like chances of becoming a target of a crime increase a lot when you lose your wits. Keep valuables zipped in a fanny packet on your front side (hip but preferably chest) In cities, we stay away from dark alleys, SUPER sketchy neighbourhoods, etc. Btw we practice these across the world but they will definitely help limit risk in Colombia too 👍 Have an awesome trip!!! 🥰
Also, two more things I just thought of. One, use Uber instead of taxis. There’s an accountability that comes with using a rideshare app where people have an account, and Uber has safety features if you ever veer off your course suddenly or something. To make sure you get in the right car, t on the PIN code safety setting. DON’T just get in any taxi. We have heard stories of people getting kidnapped this way. They could you far away from people, steal your stuff and (best case scenario) leave you there or (more than likely) finish you off. I know it’s crazy sounding but it happens. Two, get an eSIM on your phone with extra data. With connection at all times you will be a lot safer. You’ll be able to communicate with someone if something goes wrong etc.
Btw, I hope you don’t get scared out of going to Colombia from this. I just think it’s important to know that while the risk is low, there is risk! But everything has risk! All our safety tips are just precautionary!!!! We have been to 30+ countries and nothing REMOTELY bad has happened to us. In real life, people are good everywhere pretty much all the time 🥰
@@WyattandReyka Wow, thank you for all of this, I didn't expect it. Yeah I heard about the kidnapping stories and it's truly scary. I will take all precautions like wearing basic clothes, carry a burner phone etc. I did some research, definitely need to be careful. Of course though, anywhere in the world with the shittiest luck you can be somewhere at the wrong time and place and you're done. Thank you though!!
@@wiseyungin happy to help, new friend!! 🥰 a burner phone is a truly great idea! Maybe we’ll start carrying one around. And basic clothes always is definitely a great strategy. No comemos, bandeja paisa. :(

Hope you have an amazing trip, meet a bunch of locals, and stay safe! Cheers, let us know if you have any other questions 🤗🙏
Next time we will!! Thank you! 🥰🙏🇨🇴
Hola… Men don’t wear hats In Catholic Churches. Cartagena food is the best in Colombia. Medellin is the best. 😎
That’s great to know!! Next time I’ll take it off! 🥰
And yeah medellin is amazinggg 🤗
Thank you so much for watching.
Thank you for this video, I'm from Colombia thank you for coming to our country and show that all the bad things the same Colombians say about our government and country are false news, thank you again
Para q mete a retro? Chupa medias
7 days??? You cant go to Colombia just for a week, it has tons of things to see and do in every region.
Definitely not enough so we hope to return soon 🤗🥰
You did wrong the math actually. 1 us dollar is $4000 pesos not 3K
You're right! I guess we were off by a bit, haha! Thank you!! 🙏🇨🇴
Actually, it's $4,400 COP.
Never realized that Cerro de Monserrate could also mean "Mount Serrat" :0
Thanks for something new to think about from my own city :D
You are so welcome! 🤗 We are glad you got something new out of our video 🥰🙏
@@WyattandReyka Doing a little follow-up on this, Monserrate comes from Catalan language which is some sort of variant of spanish language from Spain, and it means "Serrated Mountain". Apparently is a common name for girls there, and it's not unheard of here either.
Gracias! Lo pronunciaremos mejor la próxima vez 👍🤗
I'm sorry, if you didn't visit Cali, you didn't know Colombia, you didn't do anything, forget the trip, nothing happened, you didn't see anything, you wasted your time 🤔🤔 ........
Haha okay nothing happened 😂
But yes Cali is on our list for next time for sure 🥰
It's Colombia not Columbia.
Good correction thank you!!! 🥰
We are from the city in Ohio called “Columbus” and so it’s just a habit when that’s how we say our home 😂
La invasion gringa ha comenzado
Vamos a llevar todos nuestros amigos! 💪
Jaja es broma
@WyattandReyka jajaja tan chistontos
No comemos, bandeja paisa.
Muchas gracias y saludos!
Gracias por ver el video! 🤗
You guys were being too polite when it came to rating the food. I love Colombia, but it's not known for the food. Colombian food is downright awful. I go to Colombia twice per year. Very fun, but the food is terrible.
Ah really?! We genuinely loved it haha. So delicious and can’t wait to come back 🥰
If you like/eat carbs, you will love it. If you don't like carbs, you will hate it.
you didn't eat at the right place
@rayitas48 ive been there a dozen times. I have eaten everywhere in Colombia, and in many different cities. It's a common theme: Colombian food sucks. Mexican food is amazing. But colombia is more fun.
How long you take playing the chess??
Hi! Probably about an hour 😂
