"was there a leader?" " jimmy smiles and waits for someone else to answer, proudly
Back in 1994, my friend and I pulled into a petrol station in Kidderminster UK to fill up the car. Next to us was a vintage Mercedes 320 with a beautiful lady sitting waiting patiently. Filling the Mercedes with petrol was Robert Plant!! I and my buddy were lost for words, we were like little children seeing Santa. I spoke to Robert and said what a pleasure it was to meet him. We spoke for over 20mins about music, life and what was happening with his work. It was like talking to an old friend i hadn't seen in a year or two. He asked where we were going and i said we were headed back to our work in Halesowen. His reply was to ask if we fancied a pint and some lunch. We spent the next 3hrs or so in conversation with this guy. I will remember those 3hrs for the rest of my days. We parted with no autographs or 'selfies', just a memory of lunch with a legend and his lady. Plus, he paid!!
Interviewer: Was there a leader?
Jonsey, "... when I went onstage I didn't think oh, I'm going show everybody how good I am, I thought I'm going to show everybody how good Led Zeppelin was." Word.
Love how Robert said "these guys are my buddies and soul partners " probably the tightest band I've seen.
And now we know why Zeppelin hated being interviewed. No one gets them.
It's 1980 and I finally got front row seats to see Led Zeppelin live. I'm 29 years old and I'm feeling like I just met Santa Claus for the first time. I'm driving a truck down I-95 listening to WMMR when the announcement of John Bonham's death come on. I pulled over to the side of the road and cried the same way I did when my Dad past away when I was 12. For whatever reason I got out of the truck, sat on the railing and just couldn't stop crying. A cop pulled up and asked me if I was OK and I looked at him and said John Bonham died.He put his hand on my back and said I'd be alright. I got back in my truck and drove home and this cop followed me the whole time to make sure I got home safely. Since then every September I'd think of John Bonham and John Whittle the cop who followed me home.
Robert Plant's speaking voice has tremendous clarity and projection. It's no wonder he's such a phenomenal singer.
"Bonzo got some extra money for driving the van and I got some penicillin", what a sense of humor!
John Paul Jones is the most underrated rock star ever!!! What a GEM
Robert Plant is so intelligent and it must be excruciating for him to hammer an idea into a nitwit like Rose.
surprised Plant didnt walk out of this interview. Rose was hounding him for 10 mins about not doing a reunion tour
I honestly find Robert Plant such a warm loveable person, I’d love to be his friend
Title should be
As tragic as it was, they absolutely did the right thing by disbanding after John's death. May he be resting in peace. ❤
Jonesy is usually the quiet one, but he’s definitely a giant of Led Zeppelin. It’s almost impossible to believe that these four phenomenal musicians found each other. We have to thank God for allowing that to happen. Imagine how great it would have been to see John Bonham continue with his mates.

Robert sounds a little surprised people remember their music. What a humble man. But who could ever possibly forget Led Zeppelin? Once you’ve heard them it’s impossible to.
Amazing to think everyone in this band individually is considered one of the greatest musicians that have ever lived. What a collection of talent…
"When I went on stage I didn't think 'oh Im gonna show everybody how good I am'. I thought 'Im gonna show how good Led Zeppelin was"
