    Justin, I teach in a stained glass shop. We never put glass in a trash liner. All glass goes in plastic bins with no liner, so they go straight into a dumpster. Broken glass in a liner is a nasty accident waiting to happen. Prevention, prevention, prevention.
    Also, flush it out with colloidal silver. Especially after you got dirt in it. Hope you get well soon, and no serious infection!!

    Justin, I have watched two healthy men become septic, one a homesteader in PA, and the other lose both arms and legs without vigorous treatment. You are playing with your life if you are not given some antibiotic - hang the naturalists or whoever that discourages you from potent treatment. Reference: "Just a Few Acres Farm" on UA-cam, a video two years ago where the PA homesteader neglected a small scratch in the forest which turned into a major septic event - "About that time I almost Died" . Nothing to laugh about!!

    Usually you build potato bins in your cellar to store potatoes. Spread them out over the shelf so air can circulate and keep the dry. Be sure to watch them in the burlap bags. More likely to rot in the bags.

      I don’t understand what has happened here. Justin does potatoes every year. They know to lay them out for several weeks before they’re put in any kind of a container. My husband always built wooden crates on casters for our potatoes to be in after they have dried in a dark place.

      While living in a remote village in East Africa this happened to me. I HATE antibiotics but they saved my life and I was glad we had them on hand. There are more natural options, but they must be used immediately. When it gets bad you need intervention. Most of us don't realize how quickly a simple wound can turn deadly.

    • @jeremymaccarthy1180
      @jeremymaccarthy1180 23 дні тому +14

      It's actually called cellulitis (which is an infection in the skin and soft tissue), which has likely turned to bacteremia (blood infection). If left untreated, it can easily turn into septecemia (sepsis). That can be fatal, but usually in immunocomprimsed people or with chronic organ issues, like kidney or liver disease.

    • @TLadret
      @TLadret 23 дні тому +22

      An adult that’s immunocompromised should automatically know to act quickly when cut with garbage bag glass with more than just slapping on a bandaid. Secondly, when it started to hurt, maybe taking care of it should have taken priority over potatoes picking and, and, and….so many things he was racing to take care of could have taken a few days on the back burner (in my opinion).

    • @creative227

      Blood related infections are SO dangerous. MRSA, antibiotic resistant staph, etc. it can kill you really fast.
      Geez, depending on epsom salts and other old time stuff in this day and time is just ridiculous. The death rate for things hardly anyone dies from today is because of modern medicine, don’t ignore it!

Drain towards the green house garden irrigation system into a holding tank with gunnysacks loaded with compost and a aquarium solar aireator. Compost tea ready for garden fertilizing. Install filter screens at the outlet and further downline after a ball valve shut off automatic timer. Also do roof water collection.

    It is hard to know how many days you have gone with this cut on your arm but from the itching you have and the redness I saw on screen you have an infection. Considering it was glass in a trash bad we are talking all kinds of different bacteria and nasty germs. GET YOURSELF TO A DOCTOR. You are beyond plants helping you cure your infection. Back before antibiotics many a farmers died from infections or had to have limbs removed.

      The video with the cut was on Tuesday, the same day that I stabbed my arm with a tomato cage. I got a tetanus shot bc it has been about 20 years since my last booster.

      @@ilzitek2419 I do feel they need blessings in their family. But what I watch is so intense and sometimes completely disregarding their health. I know I’m not the only one who feels like they use their health issues for good content but it’s not. Justin always promotes health and well being because of his gardens and meat, etc. but they are ALWAYS ill. I do bless Lily because she is definitely the glue of the family. And I feel a bit sorry for that huge role at such a young age. And don’t come at me because she could one day be a master chef and succeed at something fabulous. But she is right now caretaking all those boys and her parents. It feels wrong.

      @@sharonadlam3195 Hey Sharon. It’s not negative to comment on the obvious. Look at Justin getting his wound all dirty with crap. It’s almost like he’s asking for some kind of infection. This video was particularly disturbing because of that. And I stand by my feeling that little Lily is an unpaid housekeeper and cook. I know she liked to cook and create, but that family uses her time and time again. I hope they put some of their UA-cam money into a fund for her to become either a great chef or a fabulous horsewoman.

    Dirt inside an open wound doesnt usually end well. The pain is your body fighting off infection, or the infection itself winning over your body.
    Then again, i do recall you eating raw animal parts one time and that didn't end well either. You do you.
    Its not like the doctors studied for years and years, or anything. You know better right?

      If you knew WHAT those doctors studied you'd think differently. Medical books are written by pharma and doctors have ZERO freedom to treat outside the insurance algorithm. If they don't follow the script on their tablet screen, they don't get paid by insurance. Many years in healthcare public affairs and you wouldn't believe how little doctors actually are allowed to do.
      So when you say we know better.... why yes we do. We use critical thinking rather than profits above people algorithms that just make the insurance companies rich while keeping is the sickest first world country in the world. Highest spending on healthcare of all first world countries and worst health outcomes. Don't wag your finger at people smart enough to demand better for themselves.

    Infection in that arm now. Punctures that don’t bleed are at high risk of infection. Then not cleaned properly and always around dirt, animal poo and all kinds of bacteria, fungi and nasties, it’s reasonable to expect infection. At least do hot n cold treatment but I’d be heading to emergency at this point. This kind of thing is deadly.
