What Are These Seed Pods / Heads In My Yard?
Quick video going over the seed heads you are seeing in the lawn. Spoiler alert… they are totally normal. They are also an indicator of healthy turf that is trying to reproduce itself. Note that you won’t be able to grow these long enough to dry out and self-seed your lawn (your neighbor’s will likely call the township on you). Just mow like normal and these will go away in a few short weeks.

As we head into August, we still have robust seed heads and had them since early June here in western Washington.

We have had them in the past and mowed without a bag thinking the seeds will help the lawn. I'm not sure if this was the case, but it sounded good in my head.
