Sprinkler heads with firmware worry me a bit. I work in the tech industry and realize that this will add to the setup and maintenance time. I'll be keeping an eye on this product/team because they are certainly doing grwat things.
I had lot of the problems you did. Tracking/pulsing issues, app connectivity issues, open line, and outright flex pipe blowout. I did use existing lines like you did (¾" as well). I had water pressure issues. My water pressure was really high so i installed a 40psi regulator between the unit and the shit off valve. My lawn has died several times now. Tech support has been mediocre at best. Ive had this unit for about 14 months now, and last week, they finally shipped me a new unit. So far, for theoney k spent, i HATE it.... I hate it because i wanna love it because its a genius idea.... But so far, im very unhappy.
Thanks for sharing! It’s important for folks to see these comments. Since posting this video, I also had a few current errors which resulted in replacing two heads. They shipped them out right away, but was a bummer since everything was re-established.
I would love an irrigreen system but I just had a quote for a traditional system with wifi for my 10,000sq ft lawn and it was $5.5K and I dont have to lift a finger.
Sort of false statements around "overlap", or what one would consider head to head coverage. If a system is designed correctly and installed correctly with the correct nozzles and heads, etc... and the end user calibrates to know how long it takes to put, let's say 0.10 inches of water down in a zone, then if you water 0.5 inches with that traditional system or this system, how is one saving money? 0.5 inches of water over 1,000 sq ft is the same amount of water from any system, even if i stood out in the lawn with a hose and put 0.5 inches of water down over that 1,000sq ft. same amount of water.
Very good point. I agree with you. I should have stated it more from a maintenance perspective since most end users will not check on their heads after the install or do the proper maintenance to re-adjust heads. Not saying that Irrigreen is maintenance free, but all too often, traditional irrigation systems barely water what they’re supposed to when left unchecked over time. There is also the savings associated with only digging 1 trench and far less heads. In the front yard (about 3,000 SF), I’m only using 4 Irrigreen heads, I probably could have gotten away with just 3. A hunter system would have been 9-11 heads for the same area. Great comment. Thanks for watching!
So what I want to do is have an in ground system that I can just plug a timer and hose end into it. I’m still trying to set up the layout for my backyard. If you’re interested in helping (and I’ll allow you to use it for content creation) please let me know.
@@RobertFrancis-ir6rh gonna be a lot of money… but you can get one. The heads are something like $250 a pop, but you need the controller which is like $1,500.
Currently, no. But I think they are thinking about it for the future. But from what I understand, the system would still work without the subscription. It would only be subscription for the weather data.
Nope i have a nice 5 zone system i did for my 2500sq ft yard in the last 2 years. Im using orbit b hyve hose timers on my front and rear faucets untill i make the transition to traditional valves. I may lile 500.00 max invested. My neighbor is looking to get it though for his small yard that i can put in a 3 or 4 head system for less than 100.00. Diy systems are money savers if you purchase the right parts the first time.
I’ll have to time how long it takes to get a full rotation, but Irrigreen says one full rotation puts down 0.05” of water. So it would have to rotate 10 times to put 1/2” down. Coverage is really good when it’s a calm day. Wind does impact the spray length.
quite the cost tho. i probably would have just gone with usual system, DYI it, pvc, fittings, orbit sprinklers, and set up each one manually. yes, would be overlap, but wouldnt cost as much to install, and could just use an orbit timer. But good vid my man, lawn looking good.
I have about 5,000 total for my 8 head system, did the electrical and preventer myself and the trencher was only 240, pvc was 500 for 285 feet. It was too easy cutting the pvc to spend 200 on a battery powered one. What is crazy is, I CANT use my million dollar sprinkler system to water my Bermuda seeds lol Gotta wait a few weeks. Monaco Bermuda, new reel mower and this bad ass sprinker system, Gunna be a great 2024 lol Thanks again Vince, watch ur videos even tho you are cool season
@@johngrinnell strong /large water droplets, it may work ok but extreme high risk of seeds moving especially by the head, im using impact sprinklers, lots of mist, small droplets

Fantastic review, very detailed. Considering this system myself but want to go in with some perspective from other users.

Wow, I never realized the droplet size. I guess size does matter. Go Phils!
LOL, in this case yes.

Very comprehensive review. I’d say the essential video for this new tech. Well done!

Nice video. I just don't like grass like that.😢
Is there a monthly or yearly subscription fee to use the app or the system in general?

how much would it cost to hire someone to do everything you did?
I’m not sure.
How long does it take to put down a 1/2 inch of water? Do you get even coverage in each zone?

Not quite sure how I feel about that Eley hose reel on the front porch at :13
LOL… it’s still there! Majority say it should be removed.
