This guy is incredible. I wish I could directly download all the musical knowledge from his brain but at the same time I think it would take away the fun in learning what he has too teach. Bass is too much fun.
you are such a fucking beast learning this or my short neck scale micro is going to be fun honestly I've learned a lot off of your videos thank you so much
Probably not, a P-bass split pickup gets a way way different tone than the dual humbucker setup on my Cirrus. Metal on a P Bass sounds great too though, if Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) can do it you can too!
Hmm. Remember my ESP LTD Bass? That thing has an upside down Split P Neck Pickup and a Humbucker Bridge Pickup. I wonder if that thing could get a similar tone like what you had going on! That tone was just too awesome!
A standard on a 5 string is "A E A D G", no? I've never been able to properly understand the naming of the different tunings. Maybe you could a lesson on that? :D
funny you say that, just filmed a video on the subject for my other project BassBuzz. But short version is that "standard" tunings are in perfect 4ths, so "A standard" would be like standard 5 string tuning all down a whole step - A D G C F. "A E A D G" I would call "drop A".
Ah, thanks! That seems pretty logical actually. Although I do feel as if different people use the names differently but that might simply be my own confusion.
WOW YOUR COOL YOUR COLORS ARE COOL AND EASY THANK YOU!

Thanks Cynthia!
That deserves a written thumbs up too!

Twisted Metal! Great exercise Josh and a nifty riff to boot. Do you use hammer-ons on the semitones? Thanks again for another great lesson.
Nope, every note plucked!
I must say, that riff sounds Beastly and Gnarly on that bass! I'm not sure if I can get that same or similar tone on my 4-String Silvertone P-Bass.
