Hello and welcome back to a new video - Let me know how you think this little bass stacks up against the standard (big) bass! Would be great to hear your thoughts!
Great review! And thank you for not annoying us with slapping all the time! 😀 I recently purchased the 5 string modell, I really love it and use it now it as my main bass in a rock-cover band and a reggae band. Together with a ZOOM B3 it fits all my musical needs and all of my band members love the sound! I am 68 now, so this bass is not only for young(er) folks. ;-)
Maybe such a comparison is unfair? The main difference for me was the way you played the two. They sounded similar enough. One seemed to give you a wee bit more difficulty moving around. You were able to articulate better on the fender. If the kala had been the only instrument you knew for years then were presented with the fender, you may have struggled a bit to reach the frets. After all, people learn to play other small fret boards like violins, mandos, etc. just fine. I have a mini-strat in my collection that sounds wonderful but it's the same thing. It sounds a bit different because of the way you approach it after being used to something else. It feels cramped. Hope that made sense. Cheers.

It’s a fair point!
Obviously a lot of what sounds so good here is your hands / ears. But I'm curious what your signal chain is on this video.
Thank you! Here I went from the bass into my preamp, compressor, then straight into the DI box.
São cordas de aço de contrabaixo normal!
