They have been in for about 10 years. i went to my implant surgen and he said I have Peri implantitis. When i was a kid, i had well water wirh levels of flouride of 6.3 ppm... in southern Virginia. My mom was a dental assistant, who worked for a DDS...who saw flourosis while studying in Louisiana. Its rare ib thw US, but it haopens. I had my first set of full (6) upper crowns done at 12. I replaced them at the age of 21..I had an absess, root canal and a post put in. I took super good care of my teeth. I have no guk recession on 22 year old crowns...however vecause of rhe flourosis, the rest of my teeth keep breaking all of rhe time. 3 weeks ago..i lost my K9...bloody root and all...found out today...that the parrelel tooth is undergoing reasorbtion..I now need an implant for my K9 and parallel tooth...and i might need a bone graft... I am terrified and trying to educate myslef..so thank you for good... credible information.

I like your videos, and the way you think things out. But in this case, I wonder if the patient would have been happy with a Maryland bridge to deal with this instead of implants and bone grafts? I had it done on for missing front teeth and it looks fine to me. And it was a reasonable cost- and minimal time in the dental chair.

Hi Dr Choi - I just finished your series of 101 videos and this video and they are absolutely amazing! Really helpful as I am needing to replace my front two teeth from a past sports injury and they are now getting infected and I think the buccal bone is also gone (thin biotype). Do you have any advice on the risks of having two adjacent anterior implants or is it the same concepts you presented earlier - namely strong bone foundation and positioning? I am curious how to make sure I understand the implant size will be strong enough but not rubbing against each other etc.
Always refer to periodontist or OS for anterior implants if you are a GP, a little mess-up and you could be dealing with the same patient for years and potentially losing money. You'll end up referring to periodontist or OS anyway if it doesn't work out. Just my 2 cents.
As I approach my #9 extraction and bone graft (not guided bone regeneration 😕) in preparation for a future implant, and I carefully broach the “non-extractable stitches” suggestion several times with my very, very highly regarded oral surgeon and his staff, I’ve been told dissolvable are not as harsh on the gums, as I have very healthy ‘pretty’ papila. I’m not sure of my biotype and not sure I should ask, as I don’t want to shock my surgeon. To me, gravity, like you explained in 101, Part 3, seems like commonsense to use the non-dissolvable. The tooth that I injured as a child, has been root, re-root and re-re-root canaled in its lifetime and has a (long-standing, w/fistula draining) infection and I’m concerned with everything it has going against a positive outcome. I trust my surgeon 100million% but am still worried. Plan to discuss everything again day of, I just don’t want the surgeon thinking I’m questioning his expertise 😂 in your opinion, should I continue to insist, or just trust he knows what’s best for my particular situation?
Hi Dr Choi Do you offer 3 on 6 implants bridges that get rid of the artificial gum line I saw it in a advertisement, that it makes you feel much more comfortable you don’t have to learn how to speak with a large piece of acrylic in your mouth .Not like all on four dental implants are done, on all 4 you have to remove bone to accommodate th fake gum line. The three on six gets placed directly onto your actual guns without removing any bone. Hi doctor. I have a few questions. First when can I start cleaning my all on 4 teeth with an electric sonicare toothbrush? Do you recommend using it? I've read somewhere that the vibrations from the electric toothbrush can cause the implant screws to loosen up. Whats your opinion on that? My cleaning routine on my final zirconia all on 4 would be : 1. Waterpik between fake and real gum 2. Cleaning the area between the fake and real gum with an interdental toothbrush. 3. Brushing with sonicare electric brush 4. Mouth rinse with an alcohol free mouthwash. Is that a good routine? I know its alot of queations but I hope you will find the time to answer them. I had a root canal done in Mexico 2 years ago. My tooth after a month became sensitive when I push it with my finger but I have no pain . I was told by a dentist I sent my x ray that I have infection and that root canal should be redo it again. But here in Canada the dentist sent me to a specialist who told me I have no infection. The dentist told me the same but he was not sure,that is why he sent me to another specialist. I did have a 3D scan as well but nobody gave me an explanation of what is in . All I know is nobody wants to treat me,they send me to one specialist to other.

@@cristinaotero5439 the dentis told me that I do have bone loos and gum recesion ( whici is noticeable) and that sensitivity is from trauma . I have seen oral surgeon and he told me about the gum,he did not see infection in the tooth.
@@cica8427 When you get a chance, watch that video I posted above.☝🏼 I believe the Dr. says that 100% of root canal teeth that are removed and sent to lab come back positive to bacterial infection. That means that they perform this procedure on people and then people walk around with a necrotic tooth endlessly producing bacteria without them even knowing (unless there are symptoms). 😟🤯 This blew my mind. The infection almost never shows up on regular xrays. But it does manifest in the general health of the patient in ways they probably won't recognize any relation to the root canal procedure. Cone beam ct scan or 3d xrays are recommended. These teeth really turn into a complication. It gets worse as time goes by. I hope you get this sorted out soon.
@@cristinaotero5439 I did have a 3D scan in March. I payed 455$ for it and they say there is no infection but I do have a lot of mucus in my left sinsus which need to be investigated. But nobody told me where to go!

Thank you for this video. Very informative. I wish I lived close by so I could visit the clinic. This is one of my main problems since my implant was placed. I was really hoping that bone grafting was an option but now I learned it’s unfortunately not My implant (that replaced tooth 23) is placed outside of my tooth row. I think it’s called outside the apparent axis? + there is a black triangle. My natural tooth on the other side is longer than the implant, the part in my gum) so now the technician and I are puzzling everything out. He adjust the crown (he’s trying to shape the gum with a temporary crown) so he eventually make the final crown longer and he thinks the triangle will become less. but I feel like it won’t fix the triangle. Is it possible for the gum to grow between the implant and healthy tooth next to it by these actions? He told me it might be possible when the crown gives more pressure to the gum and time will tell if my triangle will close by these adjustments
@@pany167 My gums have grown back slightly, but very minimally. Unfortunately, I still have two black triangles, and I've been told the gum will never fully grow back. The results look very unnatural, still..

I had a dental implant with a bone graft in the front. I didn’t have a root canal. I suffered for ten years because every time I bit down on it it was very tender. The dentist refused to take it out. Only the last three months was I able to find a dentist to take it out. I’m getting a bridge placed in three weeks. Are you saying you can’t put an implant to replace a missing tooth in the front?
Hello, thank you for your infovideos, but it is not clear whether bone grafting is possible for example in case of a botched implant when it has to be removed , I would assume in this scenario it should be possible to do bone grafting ( that guided type you mentioned). Better do dentures and be healthy u dont pay horrible money for implants and crowns or bridges, cause u pay huuge money for very risky tooth, i think denture is much safe and cheap option, if u do implants u still have something into your body and to be honest they say u yeah u easly can use it for rest of your life in reality maybe 10 or less percent young people who got implants got zero problem to rest of life rest, be paying for repair or new implants etc infections bone loss etc many thing can go wrong with your implants for many years. Dentures u just buy new sometimes.

I heard that if you do all-on-4, you will be cut a lot of bone and gum tissue to make room for the denture and it's not easy to clean.
