Spent some time with Jeff a couple years back, long story short, he publicly spoke out loud that Dave faked cancer among many other crazy accusations, he spoke poorly of a handful of very successful and world famous musicians, and even went to the "eddie is better than randy" shit, I was quite disappointed in my experience with the guy , a hometown cat that at one time was in one of my favorite bands, and he took his time with a fan and spent it telling wild tales that were saturated in his bitterness. Never meet your heroes they say..I have met a dozen or more, Lemmy, Mustaine, Pepper, Zakk, etc...the only one to put on this jealousy bit was JY. That being said, he is a very talented musician, just a bitter one. I wanted a teacher, a mentor, what I got was a douche
That's the impression I got off of him , he seems really bitter about the whole thing. Then again having to watch their success over the years must have been hard on the guy 😢
Didn't Mustaine fire Jeff because he thought Jeff was sleeping with his wife?
A guy gets kicked out of a band and is bitter about that band's success. Where have I heard that one before? 🤔 I like Mustaine and know he's made amends with his former band mates in Metallica but it's not like he hasn't badmouthed a loooong list of people too
@MrOctober44 when a musician takes another musician in and helps guide them and hone their skills, they are known as a mentor. It is common throughout the world, in many different professions. Perhaps you should seek a keyboard warrior mentor and build your chops up, cuz your needless and lame attempt at putting someone down could have been much better thought out.
@Echothrax very true, however, in the times I have spoken with DM, he only mentioned JY once and that was a compliment that DM had given on JYs skills on guitar.
@@Echothrax He makes amends and then talks shit soon afterwards. He's done It several times. Can you name a person that has good things to say about him beyond his musical skills? His anger and bitterness fueled him, but even in his sixties he's still lashing out as at people
Worst thing about heavy metal is that so many man-babies are into it. Drama between Young and Mustaine, or Metallica and Mustaine, or anyone else Mustaine has an issue with is always supported by Mustaine fan-boys getting offended when their hero is criticized. Why cant you just listen to the music without making their drama about you.
Yet here here you are, engaging in it and not talking about any music.

Dave's not wrong.
The saying "there are levels" totally applies here. It is true that no one "amounted to anything" to the level of Megadeth, except for Marty. Even with Marty, who is world renowned as a guitar virtuoso, there is still a gap. Megadeth had no bad guitarists. And I feel like each did their own thing well even after Megadeth. But Dave is not wrong.
Mustaine is not wrong. The so called kings of thrash is just a bunch of very bitter dudes. Has anyone seen one video or article where one or all of these guys don't put Mustaine or Megadeth down? I mean would they even have anything to say without bringing Mustaine and Megadeth into it? Ellefson says he doesn't throw rocks. That's all these guys do is throw rocks 🪨

The fact is even if you had a point, the Megadeth stuff the way that material is played and executed is literally patented by Dave Mustaine. That style of playing is unparalleled, we're talking Mustaine here. You couldn't imitate it even if you wanted to.😂
I’ll always be left to wonder what a true follow up record to So far so good might’ve sounded like. Instead we got Rust in Peace which was good but I’m in the minority of people who preferred So far so good.

Na. The songwriting is much better on rust and the production is ten times better. I will say SFSGSW Is the last album that has a punk vibe and the last Megadeth album where Dave sounds truly angry

Well they're obviously doing a pretty good job if this is getting Mustaine this wound up. I thought it was great to hear Liar and 502 live. I thought they did a great job and I think they have a right to play those songs.
Let’s not forget Al Pitrelli and TSO!? I like Jeff, he’s amazing but he needed to be in a big band. Coulda easily replaced Zakk Wylde in Ozzy instead of Joe Holmes or went back to Megadeth to replace Marty instead Pitrelli.
Jeff wasn't a metal guy. I think that's why Dave moved off of him after one album. Especially once he heard Marty playing on Cacophony records.
Megadeth is Hired Guns and Dave Mustaine I'm fun with that he somehow always pulls a great lineup at the time and a great album if it was not for Dave Mustaine nobody would know who you were
