Pyro gets a bad rap in the community and I appreciate anybody who takes the time to do high-quality Pyro. Showcasing the mobility and flexibility of the class
@Andrei Salvaleon medic has a pretty high skill ceiling. Uber tracking, healing priority, rollout healing, optimal uber building, crossbow, damage surfing when bombed and then game sense and positioning. Medic is pretty high Engineer has a decent skill ceiling too with metal management, rollouts, sentry jumping/surfing, and normal aim. Keeping up with team and supporting with buildings
@@VagueCastle649 yeah, but positioning is not as important for any other class (except for maybe Sniper and, i don't know, Engie???) As it is for Heavy, Soldier and Demo? They can just blast jump to a more comfortable spot? Scout, he's the fastest class in the game witha double jump and tools like the Atomizer, Winger and BB, Medic and Spy have decent movement speed, same for Pyro, and he also has the Powerjack and the Detonator Heavy is big, and the slowest class in the game, and due to how the Minigun works, Heavy has to commit heavily (pun entirely intended) to a position, as revving up kills any chance of you avoiding incoming fire, and unrevving, repositioning and revving up again is too slow and risky to do, so Heavy has to position pretty damn well in order to not get corner peaked to death by the enemy team or get two shot by a sniper, and downgrading the skill that this takes just because other classes also have to know how to positions seems like undermining the work that goes into it.
Man dude keep making these videos, you got me to give just general Pyro a good try instead of just using dumb gimmicks (still use them occasionally) And ya it's been a lot of fun learning base line Pyro so thanks

Glad you enjoyed, I think at the moment I could do similar guides for Sniper, Scout, and Pyro. I really want to show top class gameplay and I can't do that with all the classes at the moment. Of course I can play a 'good' soldier and heavy but it's nothing you couldn't find elsewhere. In comparison I want my Pyro guides, Sniper guides etc, to be the pinnacle on UA-cam that you could only find from 1 or 2 other channels! Will definitely be coming out with a sniper guide in the future, and might start practising other classes like Heavy and Soldier a bit more to get some footage! Cheers
You demonstrate that pyro is the most flexible class in the the game. I believed when played correctly pyro is the ultimate screw you class that punishes other classes for mistakes. The only weakness of pyro are bullets because you can’t outsmart them.
Your videos are so well made! I would love to see you do a video comparing the Scorch Shot and the Detonator. I've seen a few youtubers say that Scorch Shot makes the Detonator obsolete, but I think that's utter jarate.
I would love to see an unedited round/game where you feel you were not able to get much done. I feel often times like thats the situation I find myself in with pyro. Id love to see if/how you adapt or if you just stick it out and try to derive value.
Ok after rewatching for the 5th time instead id like to see an in depth analysis of when you can push up and go that wm1 and when its ok to sit back. You seem to be much more content to play defensive whereas I always feel like I need/want to make plays.
About your first comment, a lot of the time I just delete clips where i'm doing nothing lmao, interesting idea though and will definitely do this for one of the future gameplay episodes, maybe like 1 'bad' round and 1 'good' round to see the differences When to push up and when to sit back, I'll probably again do a video about gamesense in the future as well + episode 2 of Pyro Gameplay coming sometime next week will have a lot more nuanced info, more gamesense tips, etc. Also the 'Offensive Pyro' guide coming on Friday (or early Saturday) will have a decent section dedicated to 'when to go aggro' and 'when to back off' + some tips to decide when to go in or not Cheers

I know this was 2 years ago, Only just watched this but after seeing upward, I had been playing that map on payload before, I was a pyro who pushed the blu team off when they was about to get the last point, I love airblasting people off the map into the hole its funny

People call pyro a "skilless class" but i actually found out that if you wanna experience the class to its fillest, the pyro, while still not the most skillfull, its THE MOST intense class. Just by going pybro you have to: Deflect attacks; Spycheck every corner you can; Destroy sappers; Extinguish allies; Ruin trolldiers fun; Distract and harass snipers; Push back übers; Eliminate sticky traps All at ONCE, because chances are that your "more skilled" teammates that can, and i quote:"all spycheck as easily and as well as pyro" are getting railed by a spy that have just installed the game and has flanked their "super skilled" asses, demolished by a brave heavy that popped out of nowhere, trolled by a trolldier, annihilated by snipers and so on. They say medic is the most thankless class, but if you ask me, pyro is instead, because pyros NEED to be bros even when on the offensive. Its not that W+M1 is an easy strategy, its just that its difficult to come out of an easy strategy, and this goes for pocket medics, heavies, demos and soldiers as well, once you cone out of both the basics and personal bias, you start to realize who truly has the most stuff to do in the game. Oh, also, it takes a pyro main tons of skill to stay alive, because if the enemy sees you and no sniper or medic, they will absolutely focus you down, and those 175 HP and airblast wont really do much for you

I would like it if you did this type of post commentary for a whole game round, I think it's more educational that way. Also please talk a little more about positioning, why you are doing what you are doing, what goes into if you should (not) go for certain plays etc. for example in the frontier 1st defence after you take out the heavy and pyro, the reason you can get away with double det jumping forward is because you still have full overheal and you will be in fighting shape even after the det jumps. and in the same clip I could ask why didn't you go after the spy that you saw behind your spawn. You say that sentries are still worth defending even if the point is lost and the engie is dead, but it might be nice to mention that you stayed with the sentry just because that area is extremely easy to retreat from. I just think that stuff like that is the hardest for aspiring pyro players to figure out on their own, but I might just be talking out of my ass, whatever just keep doing what you doing, you make great content
Didn't go for the spy because there was no point, I would never catch him + wanted to defend the cart with 30 seconds left, just need to be aware of the spy coming from behind just in case Agree that I defended the sentry because I could retreat, but on top of that it wouldn't really matter if I died since I'd respawn quickly and before the attackers would be near our next line of defence I think i'll try out whole rounds in the future, a lot of the things you mentioned though is just me literally not having enough time in the clip to talk about everything! Dont set people on fire for no reason!! If you're not going to kill them, you're feeding uber to the enemy medic. For those who don't know, uber charges faster on damaged teammates and slower on overhealed teammates It's a bit min/max but sometimes that's all that matters for the ubercharge race medics play with each other. This is ESPECIALLY true if the enemy medic is using vaccinator as healing damaged teammates is the only thing they should be doing, overheal sucks for vacc. - medic main

I thought Pyro was the least fun and the most brain dead class in the game until I saw your channel. I didn't think a Pyro could rocket jump or help the team with the Degreaser
As a pyro main, airblast makes a huge diferrence and the phloggers is unfun to use

I might play some TF2Center soon though and possibly have a highlander-only episode in this series
Pyro takes more skill and has way more playstyles, while Heavy is a complete opposite. Try changing my mind, you won't.
I would rather use stock over dragons,more efficient,10 air blasts,stable damage and overall juicy feel
But kill a Scout in 2 shots is so satisfacctory, also a heavy in 4 shots
