This should be called the S&S tinker with your motorcycle kit all of the time . Make your Harley a maintenance nightmare by adding this kit. Yes, you too can spend countless hours in the garage trying to get your bike to run right With this kit.
Thanks for the great info.! 25K mile life expectancy isn’t great, but it’s negligible. If our fuel-injected engines could idle a little more slowly AT START UP the lifters would last a lot longer!!! My 2018 Heritage Classic 114 has a lifter making noise only at start up for about 2 seconds. 21,300 miles on this M8 and I’ve always changed the oil no later than 3,000 miles SYN-3. As of yesterday it’s only going to get Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W50! Having the torque cam stage 2 and the new design oil pump from H-D installed 24 Nov. 20 along with S.E. High Performance lifters. We’ll see how it goes!
Installed the standard adjustable S&S pushrods on my twin cam 103 as part of a V&H 575 cam install, less than 60 miles later, dead on the side of the road with a pushrod which completely backed off.
Sounds like somebody didn’t tighten the locking nut, think those have two nuts together, bottom one for adjustment and top one to lock the first one in place. Sometimes mechanics get called away and then don’t see that “one that got away”.
Any advice/comments on if the adjustable pushrods stay set once in or will I have to adjust them every 5000 miles...I had a sportster with adjustable pushrods and it sucked trying to adjust them on the side of the road in the middle of no where. I would be installing the pushrods/lifters and new chain tensioners on an 88TC. Thanks.
Hey Lemmy, what's the difference between the Standard S&S Hydraulic Lifter kit (ref: P360878 / SKU: 1182000) and the "Premium Precision Lifters" (ref: P844689 SKU: 1805081) ???
The precision lifters have larger passages to help get more oil to the top end. S&S are actually stopping production of the standard older style since they believe in the newer precision version, and the additional lubrication it allows. -Zack
They're sold both ways, but you can't use them with the stock tubes, so you'd want to get the Complete Pushrod and Tube Kit for your bike. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ss-complete-pushrod-and-tube-kit-for-harley
I use solids in my Shovelhead, adjusting is in the tappet. I like that kind better then the kind with the adjustment in the pushrod.
Just did mine so far its good did tensioners at the same time

How do I know when pushrods should be adjusted in my bike? What are the symptoms?
Hi guys! Which one is best, s&s lifters or Fueling Racing lifters?
Any advice/comments on if the adjustable pushrods stay set once in or will I have to adjust them every 5000 miles...I had a sportster with adjustable pushrods and it sucked trying to adjust them on the side of the road in the middle of no where. If installed properly, they should not need any adjustment after the initial installation. -DrewZilla

@@RevZilla Many thanks Zack, that's probably a good thing for S&S and customers; only offer the best & make it simple.
Great video 👍
Do the quickee pushrods come with new tubes? or can I just use the stock tubes on my bike with them?
