I wonder what the price of Thor 303 will be, currently I have Thor 250 and I am thinking about 303 but 2 hp more is not much! If the price is similar to 250, I will probably buy it.

Until I’m convinced they have the piston perforation problem fixed, I’ll pass on this engine. Any updates from the company or dealers?
except from the 1,5 extra hp, what is the difference with the 250? is it more reliable? and is it now certified for aviation? and does it replace the 250? lots of questions.
It is ca. 1.8kh lighter than 250, and on Polini website it has replaced all mention of the 250 as well.

I have only met one Polini owner in person so far and his piston burned a hole in the top and it was blamed on octane and not covered under warranty. I have heard from couple others online how they love their Polini.
I was thinking of upgrading my older Simonini but here in Canada a new 250 would cost 6k$ so the 303 will be higher. I am not saying that is bad, a lot of development goes into these engines, I am just a very budget minded flyer. I would go with 303 just to have the extra thrust for shorter take-offs. At last though, I am thinking maybe just put that money into a really nice electric conversion. Yes I will have short 1hr flights but that suits my needs for now with my soaring trike. It will be highly more dependable and far less maintenance.
Do you folks have an electric kit coming out? Never mind, I more than likely will not be able to afford it as most likely priced higher that ICE.
Still, 303 looks very nice for an ICE

Here another guy who also burned a hole in the piston. Stay away from this engines unless you have a lot of free time and money to take care of breakdowns

J'ai un Polini thor 250 monté sur un pixel, ce moteur acheté neuf totalise 62h de vol. A seulement 60h de vol, mon stator a du être remplacé car hs, je ne suis pas le seul à avoir eu ce problème, ils ne tiennent pas apperement !!! ... J'ai eu également mon joint de culasse mort à 50h de vol ... Je ne vous cache pas que je n'ai plus du tout confiance en Polini. J'espère que le 303 sera BIEN plus fiable que le 250 ...
Why does it take over 2 months for a replacement crankshaft to ship? Why are emails ignored, posts deleted, and customers ignored entirely? Polini has lost my business.
