When I played the Chaos stronghold mission as the necrons my Pariah unit was able to 1v1 a bloodthirster because they regenerated faster than they could be killed. It's also how I discovered the slow effect Pariahs inflict stack infinitely, because it was practically frozen in place after duking it out for so long lmao
So I finished the Necron campaign recently, and my favourite moment was on the IG stronghold. Due to cutscene bullshittery, my entire army of you know, slow-ass Necrons, was instantly obliterated by the first Titan Cannon shot after said cutscene. But of course, with Necrons being the perfectly balanced faction they are, I just revived my entire army like nothing happened.
Its even better the "Monolith surprise party", teleporting the monolotih, and then, the army with it. It was even more OP in Soulstorm, because you could create a fake monolith with the deciver at the far end of the map, and teleport the army with it
oh course no matter how OP the necrons are, lorewise it make 100% sense for them to bulldoze bascally everyone considering they have technolgy better then even pre-fall humanity and the eldar do.

Many years ago, I distinctly remember someone complaining about the big Necron retcon that actually gave them personalities and the guy said he didn’t like Necron lords “becoming Skeletor”. Like, are you kidding me? How is this a bad thing to you? I _WISH_ more Necron lords were like Skeletor!
The Necrons have a fun little exploit in the campaign: in the IG stronghold mission you can run to the south side of the hellstorm cannon, teleport your commander to the other side, turn him into the Nightbringer and rip the enemy base apart, or at least do a lot of damage, and skip a fair deal of the mission.
I find that you can basically just base rush any enemy as a necron because they have the strongest standart army most of my battles werent longer than 15 minutes
Another necron exploit is the mass res orb. have a mass pile of warrior bodies, max your cap then res. highest, if I remember I got was 38/20 necron Inf pop.

I remember hating Tau because of Dark Crusade like, forget the lore, them not having melee, thats fine and quite charming to a degree But them giving me ptsd with their base is something i wont forgive, specialy when the bastards at relic decided to remind me of it in other games, like Company of Heroes 2

Such as Necrons having flayed ones attack you from the ground, or pariahs showing you how op they are, as well as their ctan avatar. However, Tau base is a labyrinth of streets and ruins, where each structure has at least 5 invisible snipers that will always engage in fighting your army. They also, unlike in every other game, arent limited by their techtree, since they start with both their better vechiles and t rex stuff. Meaning that youll fight both strong units and units that stun your infantry, forcing you to move slowly than the floor, clearing every single house, cause theres always a sniper or 5 of snipers, and worse yet, they still attack your base. Some factions have it easy, as Guard can just use their main base to scan area, or use heavy artillery. Space marines have the skulls. But everyone else is fucked and extremely limited. This fight will always take around an 1 hour to beat. And thats for the imperial guard. Everyone else on difficulty different than easy will suffer and probably finish in 4 hours or days, deppending on your nerves. Worse yet, Relic brought the same kind of deal in Company of Heroes 2, where in the city of Stalingrad, youd be fighting german snipers. Good news however is, flamethrowers. Also good news, they arent invisible. So if you play Dawn of War Dark Crusade and then Company of Heroes II, you might be having ptsd Strike.

As for Company of Heroes 2 I never played campaign because usually I play single matches online or against AI (I also love this game tbh)

Flayed Ones iirc, the melee ones covered in skin of their victims. They are affected by the Flayer virus or something, making them carve flesh, to eat it, yet their metallic bodies prevent them from sating their desires. As such they resorted to wearing skins of their kills.
I always get rid of the guard by making 2 squads of flayed ones and having the lord just teleport to their HQ. fortifications? armies? well, I might need to wake the lord up once or twice and order some new flayed ones from Tombazon, but that`s pretty much it.
That's just early game harassment, if you let Necrons go, there's tomb spiders, and eventually activated monoliths, which means they're producing units on the front lines, while fighting, and that's only in vanilla, it gets more ridiculous with UA or Unification.
Once upon a time I got a little too confident and my whole base got wiped out by the IG. But my monolith was on a joyride around the map. Captured some listening posts and built some generators to get the power flowing again, amassed an army, and teleported the monolith (and friends) right in the middle of them. I like to have fun with my battles.

It isn't, 3E and 4E had a ton of global campaigns that had rules support for all the armies since GW had supplements and miniatures to sell, and it wouldn't have been wise to disinclude a player from a global campaign. Summer 2000 3E Third War for Armageddon, Summer 2003 3E 13th Black Crusade and Summer 2006 4E The Fall of Medusa V global campaigns had all the armies and variant army lists involved at the time. You could register the battle reports for your armies on their respective websites.
I played a skirmish game where the ai necron player must have dedicated his whole unit cap to wraiths. *It's pretty scary to see your terminators with a chaplain get torn to pieces within a minute.*
this reminds me of the time when i was playing chaos, the necrons just teleported directly onto my stronghold, and as soon as the map loaded in, they immediately sent like 50 units directly into my base, and i proceeded to immediately loose a 5 hour campaign in the span of 5 minutes.

It isn't, 3E and 4E had a ton of global campaigns that had rules support for all the armies since GW had supplements and miniatures to sell, and it wouldn't have been wise to disinclude a player from a global campaign. Summer 2000 3E Third War for Armageddon, Summer 2003 3E 13th Black Crusade and Summer 2006 4E The Fall of Medusa V global campaigns had all the armies and variant army lists involved at the time. You could register the battle reports for your armies on their respective websites.

I played a skirmish game where the ai necron player must have dedicated his whole unit cap to wraiths. *It's pretty scary to see your terminators with a chaplain get torn to pieces within a minute.*
this reminds me of the time when i was playing chaos, the necrons just teleported directly onto my stronghold, and as soon as the map loaded in, they immediately sent like 50 units directly into my base, and i proceeded to immediately loose a 5 hour campaign in the span of 5 minutes.
I swear, just the commander alone for the Necrons could solo the entire base. When your not looking, the bastard has already teleported to your stronghold and is hacking away at the workers and buildings lmao
